Bob Evans Farms Restaurant

I’ve eaten here the past couple of years while in town visiting family for the holidays. It’s always been busy on my visits and takes a little longer than average to get served. They do have a limited gluten free menu. The servers are generally friendly. On our most recent visit the table at which we were seated was covered in something sticky, probably syrup. I didn’t notice until I got up to leave that my chair also had the sticky substance all over. That was disappointing since I had gotten it on my clothes. The food was mediocre. Although my gluten free chicken and potatoes looked a lot better than the breakfast meals others had ordered. I’m not sure if it is this location or this chain, but I find it to be an average experience… nothing special but not too much to complain about.

I can’t express how badly the service we received was today. I ordered online. Should have been ready by 620pm, did not receive food until almost 650pm. Was told the delay was bc of a baked potato. Funny bc it was cold. Ridiculous. Manager was worthless and simply said sometimes this happens. No offer to make it right at all. Horrible customer service.

— Dined at 7:30 pm on a Sunday. They were out of pot pies, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, cheesy potatoes — that is just based on what we tried to order.
— Food quality was very poor. Macaroni and cheese was so salty it was not edible. Fried chicken on crispy chicken club sandwich had very little chicken inside the breading. Slow roasted turkey dinner had a small portion of turkey.
— One of the cooks had long hair and was not wearing a hat or a hair net.

Wow, what a terrible experience. We arrived (3 of us) about 7:30pm for a late dinner. The hostess greeted us with a big frown and it was obvious she didn’t want to be there. On the way to our table I was almost run into by a waitress with a big stack of dirty dishes.
Our waitress was friendly enough but it took forever to get our food. Sensing we were getting anxious she brought out part of our meal that was ready. We finally got all our food at least 30 minutes after sitting down.
The food was OK but not worth the wait. Our waitress then disappeared and never came back to offer drink refills. We saw her up front cleaning a coffee maker. While finishing our meal they started a vacuum cleaner right next to our table. We finished eating and then waited what seemed like a long time with the vacuum running. The waitress came back and started clearing dishes but must have noticed our dissatisfaction so she decided to put the dishes down and finally gave us our check.
It is pretty obvious that this restaurant needs a better manager, assuming they even have one, since we never saw a manager. We have been to the Lebanon, Ohio Bob Evans many times over the years. Their service has gotten worse over the past year but this was absolutely the worst I have seen. I doubt we will be going back even though it is very close to my home.

Very poor service. my wife and I waited over 15 minutes for the server who was talking to his customers. I had to ask the manager to come and wait on us. clearly the employees are in charge of this very SAD establishment

I rarely rate any place lower than two stars, but seriously the last two times I have ordered food to go, it has been wrong. I really don’t understand why there is not a quality check prior to delivering the food to the customer in their car. It really is disappointing.
The first time not only was the food wrong and luke warm or cold, but some of it was completely missing, including drinks… not sure how you forget that. Also, I prepaid, and yet you want my credit card to run it through and change me again, when I have the page showing a zero balance due???
Again, today 1 of 2 salads were completely wrong, so I had to drive back and return it and get a refund. (My own fault for not double checking before I left the parking lot).
I think this store could use some overall guest service training as well as training on how to properly run the take out area of this particular store.

At 3 in the afternoon I was surprised we had to wait for a table when there were plenty open. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food then it was lukewarm. I had bacon cheeseburger that looked good but was lukewarm. Friend had biscuits and gravy and it was lukewarm too. Disappointing for a Bob Evans. We didn’t finish. Didn’t get refills on our drinks but server rushed us to pay the bill while we were talking. :-(

Bob Evans markets their food as if it’s some down on the farm «made from scratch» food mecca. The only thing I’ve seen is them scratching their asses and putting it in the microwave.
They have high prices, tiny portions, and flavorless food. Today I had a «steak’, that came out looking like a charcoal briquet. I can’t tell what animal this came from. It peeled into pieces/​layers and I had to use half a bottle of A1 to make it taste like anything.
This was our second trip in the last month and my lovely daughter commented both times that her eggs tasted like rubber. She just left them on the plate. The coffee is decent, and the water tasted like water.
When I got home, my house smelled like farts.

I had breakfast here with friends and had a pleasant experience. Bob Evans, being a popular Sunday brunch spot for people, was hopping, as expected. We were able to get seated quickly, and while we were there, the line of people waiting to be seated never got that long. Our waitress did a great job of keeping our drinks filled, and the grill kept the food coming. We didn’t wait long on our food, and it came out perfectly prepared. Given the experiences I have had at my local Bob Evans, it was nice to have a different experience this Sunday with friends.
