Tarantino’s Family Cuts

My son loves going to see «Barber Joe»! Joe is able to quickly cut my son’s hair (which is important with a very active little boy) and does a great job, consistently. We’ve been to many of the kid salon’s in town and now that we are regulars at Tarantino’s, we know he will get a good cut each time… and the popcorn doesn’t hurt either! Love the convenience of texting for an appointment and how we are in and out with a great haircut each time.

It takes most people a few tries to get a good haircut, my hair tends to do whatever it wants. Joe gave me the best haircut I ever had the first time and has been consistent. Plus Joe is really a very nice person.

Had to update and leave an extra star or two just cuz Joe is just so darn nice! Went out of his way to contact me and apologize for not getting back to me (call lost in shuffle over holiday like I assumed) and truly seemed like a genuine, sincere guy. Wish things had worked out for us but that’s ok, I feel confident recommending him to friends and family.

Joe gives a great cut each and every time. The neck shave is an awesome bonus. He’s great about getting me in on short notice and a really nice guy. I highly recommend.

Great place for a guys haircut in Prairie Village and Old Leawood! Definitely make an appointment if your on a schedule and Joe will have you in and out in 20 minutes.

Great Guy, Great Cut. In fact, my son thinks it is the best haircut of his life. I have a had a lot of them over the years from all over the country and actually really like the barber I have been going to regularly for around 14 or so years now. It just got too expensive.
We made an appointment but, I’m not sure that you have to. It was very convenient to be able to go after work, in the evening, in the middle of the week. That ‘s opposed to taking the time on a Saturday like we used to have to because of the short hours at the other place. Not only that but, at $ 16 a piece for us, we were so please that I gave a 25% tip and we still saved 10 bucks over the other place.
Joe is not only a great person, he really does a great cut at a good price. I only wish we would have found him sooner. He will be our regular barber from now on.

I have a shocking confession. I am pretty damn vain. Not quite «falling into a pond after falling in love with my own reflection in the water» levels of narcissism, but probably not too far off. Why am I sharing this? Because in my 30some years of staring at myself in the mirror, I’ve learned what a good haircut looks like. And when Joe from Tarantino’s Family Cuts took charge of my hair, damn I look good!
This guy has skills! Salon-​trained but working in a barbershop environment, for me he is the perfect person to visit for a cut that’s masculine, stylish, and not that fussy. I’ve had people cut my hair that took three times as long and it didn’t come out as good as this. The guy just knows what he’s doing!
So what are the other bonuses?
I got in on a day-​of phone call, which from what he’s told me is somewhat par for the course. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t try and make an appointment in advance, but it seems like if you don’t it’s not the end of the world.
This was an incredibly affordable haircut! $ 16 plus tip. It’s an extra $ 3 or something for a neck shave, but that’s pretty negligible when the cut itself is so inexpensive. It’s going to make it much easier for me to maintain a short hairstyle when I know it’s not going to cost me $ 30+ each time I get my hairs did, like it used to at a salon. They take Square, so none of that cash-​only nonsense.
I’m a convert. Joe’s my new hair guy. He should probably be yours too.

Best haircut for the money. After Joe cut my hair one time I haven’t been able to go anywhere else. Several of my friends all agree and keep going back. If you want a legit haircut the way you want it cut Joe will make that happen. I should also note that I haven’t experienced what Tim S. experienced. Joe is always there ready to fix my mop when I pull up.

I got a great haircut here… new owner Joe has totally renovated the interior. Men’s haircut is $ 16, senior haircut is $ 14. They offer a straight razor neck shave.

I’ve been going to Joe for years. He has always done a great job and I have referred many people who have also started going to him on a regular basis. I saw one comment about him not being there, but the man’s gotta have a lunch hour too! I have no problem calling for an appointment or stopping by. Great place, awesome haircuts! Can’t beat it

Great place! I took my 2 year-​old here for a cut and Joe did a great job. He was fast and friendly and had a special treat for my son when he was finished. Very kid-​friendly and the price sure beat those other places for kids. Will definitely go back :)
