Paciugo Gelato

Great gelato. The counter lady was gracious enough to let us try multiple flavors — they have a lot. I ended up with the Salted Caramel and Wedding Cake gelato, and the Lemon Sorbet — 3 flavors total. The Lemon was very tart, but a great refreshing contrast to the sweetness of the other flavors.

They had really good service. I enjoyed a great ameretto soy gelato and da bomb very tart black cherry gelato.

I wandered in here after a so-​so dinner at a restaurant around the corner. Rescued my palette! Gelato and Sorbet were incredible. Owner is so friendly and allowed us several tastings. Lots of flavors with Black Cherry gelato as the signature flavor. Do not miss trying this!

Two visits in 2 days. So delicious! We love all the amazing, unique flavors! Mix up to 3 in a small or 2 in a kids cup or blend for a yummy drink!

Awesome awesome gelato! Wide variety to choose from with variances everyday. I love that they have cake cone too, and not only waffle cone. That’s my fav cone! It absorb the awesome ice cream when it melts and you have great tasting cone. The texture of gelato is perfect. My fav are blueberry yogurt, chocolate harzelnut, and yogurt twist thingy. Awesome awesome.

Great service from smiling ladies and exquisite samples make this a tough place to decide what to order. So much attention to detail in the offering and serving size that it makes you want to stand up and shout «awesome.» Ok, so just enjoy it outside and get ready for seconds after a walk around the city:)

Delicious Gelato, with a good variety of flavors! The prices were fairly reasonable, and came in perfect portions. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars was how slow the workers were. It wasn’t very busy, with only 2 people in front of me it was about 10 minutes before I was served. I will definitely be back for the vanilla lavender and green tea gelato flavors!!!

I love this place. The gelato is very flavorful and the service is good! You get to enjoy all the samples you want too! The location couldn’t be better!

Not only did I not know how to pronounce the name of this place, I had never even heard of it. I’m glad that changed (well, maybe not the pronunciation part) because this was some of the best gelato in the city with an abundance of good options.
In the heart of Park Place, this shop is all about efficiency. You walk in to a structured line, and the staff will stick with you as you try the different options. They’re more than welcoming about giving samples, and even explain how many flavors you can get in each small/​medium/​large sizes. Having formerly run an ice cream store in college I was impressed that everything here was extremely clean and tidy.
There are so many to choose from that I literally didn’t make it to one third of the case because I chose a bit hastily. I ended up doing two in a small: Vanilla and Italian Wedding Cake. Sounds boring, I know, but we had just had a spicy Thai meal and I needed something mild and it ended up being delicious.
I think it’s great to have something like this in the Park Place area because there are so many places there to go sit and enjoy it, or even walk around with it. I’m not in the area often, but would definitely go again on a summer night here when I’m around.

Delicious! Putting writing on the cups that say gelato is more healthy than some meals is ridiculous though. Gelato is just the Italian word for ice cream and I hope you’re not fooling most but who knows.

My husband and I were on a food adventure and wanted dessert so we pulled up desserts on Unilocal.We picked this place because we’ve only had gelato once in our lives and loved it and they had very high ratings. It’s a cute little store in a really pretty area that looks so lovely to walk around in. There was only one employee working at the time and she was over the top nice. You can sample however many flavors as you want and you can fit multiple flavors into one cup. I tried the Chocolate Chip Amaretto and the Mediterranean Salted Caramel and oh my goodness! They were amazing! I believe I can truly say I like gelato over ice cream now. Come to this place. It’s super yummy, friendly and the cutest little store in a pretty area. Next time I’m trying the steamed gelato cappuccino!

Taste away with tasting spoons until you find what you really want! What I love the most is that a small is enough for me and you can get up to three flavors in the bowl.
I’m always surprised how happy they are to let you try as many flavors as you want. Actually, every time I have gone in there the person working is happy. I’m not super impressed by the inside, but that’s okay because I would rather it it outside on a bench and people watch.
If you haven’t tried it, you should!

A landmark in the community. We’ve had so many wonderful times meeting friends and having ice cream and Gelato over the years. It is our little neighborhood indulgence.

I LOVE this place! Very friendly staff, the owner recognizes us every time we come in and takes time to chat with us. I love good customer service! The gelato is excellent, you can try any flavor you want (which my husband does every single time we come in. ha ha!). I love the dark chocolate and sea salt together… yummy!

There are many different choices of gelato and sorbet-​all delicious! I have never tried a flavor of gelato that was less than fantastic, even bizarre flavors like maple carmelized bacon. I come here whenever I can and it never fails to impress.

I have always valued myself as one to stick to downtown Kansas City for the best places to get anything in an effort to resist the suburbs. BUT alas, as I am now employed in Leawood, I have no choice than to explore what it has to offer and embrace Leawood and it’s surrounding areas. I’m glad I have because this little gelato spot is delish. Tucked into a small corner shop in a shopping center that seems like a clever mix between Zona Rosa and the Country Club Plaza, I almost missed it as my friend and myself were walking by. The girls behind the counter were a little busy, but greeted us as we walked in and offered samples while we browsed their flavors.
I went with half tiramisu and half biscotti and holy moly. The biscotti was INCREDIBLE. I probably could have eaten a whole other bowl of it if it was in front of me. The tiramisu was pretty awesome too, however my favorite of the two was definitely biscotti. With summer just around the corner, I look forward to stopping by again… And again.
And again.

Before I start this review, one thing to really consider is that options for good gelato in KC is VERY LIMITED. With that said, I do want to share that this place is actually very delicious. I studied abroad in Spain and every other corner there was a little gelato stand and they were DELICIOUS. Well Paciugo is near close to that and service is always great.

Very impressed with prices and friendliness of staff. There was a good variety of flavors; I didn’t try very many today because we were in a bit of a hurry. We each ordered a small and headed out to the car.
I enjoyed the banana cream pie flavor, but found it a bit overly sweet. Mom had cherry something and I tasted a small bite and didn’t care for it. She seemed to like it.

We love Paciugo (pronounced pa-​choo-​go), so much so that our first summer of marriage, we came here an embarrassing number of times every week just to get out of the apartment.
Gelato is healthier for you than regular ice cream or custard. I like to remind myself that every time we go. You can sample the gelato before you order it, and they can squeeze three flavors into a small cup, which is what I usually get. Those cups are really deceiving because they pack them full.
I’m impressed that the flavors are always changing! They have a standard set to choose from, but there’s always one or two that are new. My go-​to favorites are Bacio (ba-​chee-​o) which is hazelnut and chocolate and similar to a Ferrero Rocher chocolate, as well as Wedding Cake, Limoncello /​lemon poppyseed, and pistachio.
This store is always clean, and the workers are cheerful. One lady has been there as long as we’ve been going there — I suspect she’s the manager — and she works all the time! She recognizes us when we come in. Don’t forget to ask about their loyalty cards — you can rack up points every visit, and you can start earning free gelato pretty quickly.
Paciugo is doing it right — better than ice cream, and outside the box of standard flavors. A+ dessert experience!

Time after time, I consistently have the same result. I enjoy my experience at Paciugo, & I enjoy the product. This time we had a groupon (that I delightfully purchased, fully knowing that I would be making trips back to get my dairy-​free treats this summer). Unlike some establishments, Paciugo does not act put out, or rude when they notice you have a groupon. I feel it is necessary to note this, since I have had more than one bad experience with a business seeming absolutely ticked off that we would have the audacity to have & USE a groupon for their business.
Even though they were somewhat busy, we were greeted sincerely by each employee & offered the same samples (service with a smile) that we always receive. I went with my same selections (but I did note that they had a very tasty limoncello flavored dairy-​free option this time as well). I get the chocolate nearly every time b/​c I like it. But the strawberry (& other fruits are just as satisfying).
We enjoy getting good service, & a satisfying treat, & then being able to sit outside near the fountains to enjoy it now that it is warm outside. We will, of course be back, since I will continue to frequent spots that support my dairy-​free dessert habit.
