Church of the Resurrection-United Methodist

Great place for the whole family. There are so many opportunities for the whole family, all you have to do is look!

I was a nominal Christian when I first started attending. Thankfully COR’s mission was focused on people like me. Now I volunteer and attend regularly. It’s a big church but I still feel like I belong. There are many entry points to get you involved. Plus they have some great leadership to explain Christianity in every day terms.

I love COR. Always a great message, but you have to be comfortable with a mega-​church, because that is exactly what this is. This church is super huge.

This is an absolutely humongous church. For that reason I choose to go to the Saturday evening service. Kids programming is really good and there are ample opportunities to network on a more personal level.
Pastor Adam is very entertaining and extremely well informed. I also enjoy his and the church’s attempts to broaden the horizons of the congregation and support the less fortunate both abroad and in the KC metro.
I hadn’t been to church in five years and felt very welcome. Check it out.

I have never attended this church physically. Pastor Adam Hamilton came to the 2011 CA-​NV UMC Conference as our keynote speaker. He had such an interesting message, that I decided to follow-​up online and have never regretted it.
What I like about the COR-​UMC is that the message is a GREAT balance of heart, mind, soul, scripture, and living it out practically. If you’re looking for a church that gets things tidily wrapped up in an hour, this probably isn’t your place because the sermons podcasted are usually between 30 – 40 minutes.
Hamilton and his associate pastors do a great job of sermon series, so you can develop thoughts over several weeks. Also, they aren’t super liberal or super conservative, which I really like. (That’s saying something given that I grew up in the SF Bay Area!)
As for his books, well, he’s no Charles Dickens. He could probably spend more time crafting out a better argued or written book, but then again — he’s a full-​time traveling pastor with a huge church, and the book topics are not the easiest of subjects. Bravo for trying to write on such controversial or difficult subjects at all! (This Unilocal review is not a book review, either, so it does not affect the church’s star rating as far as I’m concerned.)
I highly, highly recommend listening to a few sermons online if you’re feeling at all apprehensive or cannot get to this place physically. If you can, I envy you! I would love to see this place in person.

Awesome church in so many ways. Huge but warm and open to all. Pastor Adam Hamilton is such a gifted speaker, and the church reflects the giving spirit of the man who founded it.
He had reached us before, as our pastor in Dallas gave me Adam Hamilton’s series of sermons on Love, Sex, Marriage and the Bible as our pre-​marital counseling. Total coincidence we landed in KC!

I really enjoy this church. A lot of people say that it is too big, but you have to get involved in the small bible study groups. Actually there are all kinds of groups to join. Adam (the head pastor) is an excellent teacher and I truly enjoy the Sunday worship service.

Went here for a Christmas church service. It is giant! I have never been a fan of stadium churchs and this isn’t exactly a stadium church but it is pretty close. I have always liked old ornate stuffy churches because that is what I grew up with and this one is big with giant video screens and tons and tons of seats.
Even though I was predisposed to not like this church, I did like it. The people were very nice and welcoming. The pastor gave a great sermon and the service was surprisingly elegant for being in such a large setting.
