Idlewild Pizza

We were in town for the Christmas-​tree lighting ceremony, always a magical time of year. After a fun long day of playing in the snow, we wanted to throw some carbs inside us to warm up.
Step in from the cold, and you focus on the big oven behind the bar, baking lots of pizzas at once. Pizza that’s been wood-​fired, bubbly, hot and delicious is exactly what the doctor ordered.
We didn’t know which wood-​fired pizza to order, but by looking at everyone else’s table, we saw Margherita pizzas on quite a few tables and ordered that, along with a green salad and flourless chocolate cake.
The pizza was decent, and reminded me a bit of the pizza in Rome. The green salad and flourless chocolate cake were better than expected for an out-​of-​the-​way place like Leavenworth. If you have a craving for pizza, stop in and eat at Idlewild Pizza.

I am very glad Idlewild opened its doors. Love the wood fired pizza! Their toppings are simple & delicious and the ambiance is great!

Three stars for the pizza (a little soggy) and 5 stars for the salted caramel gelato with little chunks of salt in it and caramel corn on top-​worth the trip just for that! The service was very friendly and the venue has a warm, clean modern décor that is a breath of fresh air in the Leavenworth area. Felt well attended too and not hurried. To the management-​Crisp up that crust and block off the cold air from the front door and you will have a consistent 5 stars all the way!

I loooooove a good brick oven pizza, and this place rocks it! There are very few places in Leavenworth that have exceptional food, and this is one of them.

Friendly staff and the Cajun pasta was delicious and a great price. Love the music they play!

This is step above your typical pizza in a resort town. Eric, the owner, got his training from Delancey one of the best places that’s located in Ballard, WA. Beet salad, crisp, fresh. The mushroom pizza with arugula and parmesan.excellent. Good luck Eric, you and your wife in your venture. Great start.

We came here on a saturday night during the christmas light festival and it was a most pleasant way to wind down our evening. It was packed, there was a small line at the door, and minus from having to wait about 5 mins to get seated the service was good, honestly we we’re lucky getting seated as quick as we did, there were just two of us and they had one 2 seat table ready. We had some beer, a salad and two pizza pies, all was great. The sauce on the pies was perfect tasting, right amount of cheese, and the crust was done perfectly for a wood fire pizza. I will definitely stop back by when in Leavenworth again for some more of their pizza pie

The pizza is great. I mean, really good and for the food alone they deserve 6stars BUT, when we arrived we waited 10 minutes which is pretty shot in wait tbh. The one less star starts here:
1. Upon seating we realized the waiters had cleaned the table with a wet cloth and left it full of water, I wiped it with two napkins and all was good.
2. My buddy got a beer which he was served in a bottle without glass. We had to ask for a glass to which the waitress politely provided.
3. We were provided forks and only forks, no knives which I got up to get myself since the waiters were not stopping by us, guess they were busy.
4. One of the pizzas was burnt so the pizzaiolo (pizza maker) told the waitress it’d be another 10 mins to make a new one, that’s fine, rather that than them sending it out and us asking for a replacement.
5. I asked for a refill of water which the waitress acknowledged only to come back and give water to the table next to us and completely ignored my call so I walked to the station and served myself.
I loved the food and I would go back anytime. The service had too many flaws for a 40 mins lunner but that’s ok, I have legs and can get my own things.

Great pizza and salad! Eric is a really nice guy and they know how to toss a really great crust and fire it up in a real oven! Don’t miss this place!

Outstanding woodfired pizza, pastas and salads. The Cajun Chicken Pasta is as good as it gets. Top shelf, you won’t be disappointed. But maybe try to beat the crowd…

I hate to rate this place so low hit I was very disappointed based in all of the good reviews. We showed up around 8 and they were all out of dough so we were only able to eat pasta and salad. The green bean salad tasted like the water it was boiled in and had zero flavor. We then ordered the bucatini with Salmon which was even worst. Zero flavor, not even salt. It tasted like pasta water. We also ordered the Mac and cheese. This was a little better but it said it had bacon and I did not see even a little bacon bit. Maybe the pizza is better but I will not be back and would not recommend.

Best pizza in all of Leavenworth! They have a brick fired oven that cooks the pizza just right! I got a bacon and pepperoni pizza and you could just tell that it was made from high quality ingredients! The server was also amazing, she would check in and always kept my water glass filled!

Eric and crew are legit. This is THE pizza place in Leavenworth (a town filled with restaurants that would go belly up so quick if they were in a normal non tourist town).
Idlewild holds it’s own with any other great pizza place in the PNW; scholls, kens, serious, delancey. I’ve had them all, Leavenworth does not deserve a place this good.
As a local this is my go to joint, every week. Go get a damn good pizza and top it off with a legit local or micro beer.

Great environment, very relaxing. Pizza was delicious and fresh and quick! Loved it, will definitely go back.

Flavor is okay, pizzas are small for what you pay for. Service was a little lacking, not very friendly.

Best pizza we’ve had in a long time! Beautiful interior, very warm and inviting. Ingredients all made in house, too! Will be coming back!

Some of the best wood fired pizza I have had! And I love me some pizza. Had the bacon with sweet onions and chives. The dough was out of this world! Get off of crowded Front Street and drop in to this place for some kick ass pizza.

Was in Leavenworth, and decided to grab some pizza in the area.
Ordered the Margherita pizza. I’m starting to become more and more of a fan of wood fire pizza. The pizza was thin crust with just enough tomato sauce, cheese and fresh basil. I am very picky about my pizza, but this was delicious! The waitress also gave me some freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the pizza which was a great addition.
Not the best pizza I have had, but it did the job! I would eat there again if I was craving pizza in Leavenworth.

Very good pizza and great staff. Plus good selection of wine at a good price. So if you are tried of overpriced jagerschnitzel and tourist then give them a whirl. Great place!

Pizza here is amazing. You will not be sorry!
Fresh ingredients, great service & atmosphere.
We ate here twice on our 3 day trip bc it was so amazing.
They do only serve 12″ pizza. Ok with us! Glass bottles of Mexican coca cola (yum!!), beet salad was great.
We will be back!
