We happened into Carlos 1800 when it was nearly empty, a restaurant all to ourselves. Of coarse we were greeted and seated immediately. It was an evening when my palette was telling me exactly what flavors I craved but there was nothing on the menu that hit my mark. I made a list of requests that I wanted to see on my plate and just moments later, just what I ordered and with extra salsa. Very good. Nice atmosphere and very clean.

My friend had ordered one of their Margarita drinks, a few of us tasted it and it was honestly just disgusting, tasted like pure syrup and not fresh at all, and no taste of alcohol. Having that her drink wasn’t good, she asked if there was anyway she could get a different one(only a few sips were gone from it) the staff, which I think he was a manager? Got rather aggressive and argued with her, grabbed the drink threw it away, took it off the tab and told her he refused to serve her anything else. I’ve never seen a staff member anywhere act like this. He claimed he knew for a fact the drink tasted great so that’s why he wouldn’t serve her, and that it was illegal to throw away alcohol? She was obviously fine paying for a drink, was ultimately just asking them to make her something drinkable. I’ve personally had that drink there before and it was gross, I just assumed it was made by someone who didn’t quite know what they were doing or that the mix was bought from the closest Cash and Carry– that happens from time to time. It wasn’t a smart move on his part being so rude and aggressive, we probably would have stayed and continued buying drinks/food but decided not to give them the business after the incident, and will continue to do so from here on out! Note to the staff– being loud and aggressive and telling your customers they’re wrong, is not exactly the way to keep people coming back!

Let me just say, despite it being Christmas(where every asshole comes out to be lazy and get a buzz on… including me), I was expecting to get mediocre snacks and a warm drink to take the edge off. This place rocked my socks off! Food was seriously delicious, great tequila variety, and Spanish classics rockin’ the radio… but the owners are really what impressed me. They dealt with every crabby shopper, hangry non-holiday participater, massive amounts of crying kids(and parents), and impatient boozers, with professionalism, suave and even a smile. They obviously were short staffed on the holiday and worked their arses off to accommodate everyone and their grumpy Christmas wishes. Man, y’all need to give them a huge high five for dealing with all of your tantrums on a day where they gave up getting buzzed by the fire to feed you. I witnessed a bunch of crabby people try and lay into them for not having a second helping of salsa when they thought they were ready for one. This is a great place to get some authentic cuisine, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who deserves a great meal from a local family.

Who to a Bavarian village on Leavenworth, WA for Mexican food? We did because every established diner was over 2 hour wait to be seated… who has that mind of time? Seated quickly, drinks delivered quickly, order taken and BAM! We started eating within 30 minutes of being seated! Every table was full, a line out the door, however the staff made us feel comfortable and not rushed! The owner was on top of EVERYDETAIL on his restaurant! Quality experience with tasty food and service on point!

You know what you wouldn’t expect to find in Leavenworth? A Mexican restaurant. I wasn’t too stoked on the selection(I was hoping to go somewhere with brats…) but ended up here. We got in right after the tree lighting, narrowly beating the rush. We got seated fairly quickly. The restaurant is decorated like any other Mexican eatery, so no complaints on décor. It was pretty clean, from what I remember. Service: Pretty good! Our waiter was very nice and came back and verified that our order was correct — and still ended up messing up. My sister ordered a chicken quesadilla but got just a plain cheese one. He apologized when we informed him, but my sister wasn’t really annoyed or upset about it so it was all good. Food: Nothing too memorable but not awful. I had the Grande Chimichanga — definitelyyyy was big! I got it with the shredded chicken, but the chicken wasn’t really flavored well or something. The chimichanga as a whole was kind of unimpressive, but the guac that they have is suuuper good. I like the crisp that the chimichanga had to it, but think it could be spiced up just a little bit. Drinks: I had the sangria and my stepdad got the Blue Splash. I liked my sangria a lot — not too fruity and not too«bleck» from having too much wine and not enough fruit. The Blue Ocean basically just tasted like a margarita without actually being one, which isn’t that great in my books because I’m not a margarita(aka tequila) fan. Even though we got in before the rush, it still took about 40 minutes for us to actually get our food after ordering. The line to the bathroom curled and wrapped at one point, irritating some customers. I don’t come to Leavenworth often(obviously) but I don’t think I’d come back here. The whole experience was just«eh.»

Don’t waste your time! Came here because everywhere else was full. All of our food came out cold and when we complained to the owner he was nothing but rude and yelled at us. The only reason I am giving this a 2 star is because the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and professional. Our waitress came up to us after the manager stormed off and ask«did he go off on you?» Giving us the impression that this isn’t the first time he’s been rude to customers. She on the other hand was very apologetic and friendly.

For a fake German town, this is excellent Mexican! I had the Pollo Mole. The chicken was tender and the sauce was accented with a decent amount of chocolate and peanuts(peanut butter?). My wife had the Taco soup and thought it was very good, although she thinks her recipe is better. My son had the kids enchilada and he ate most of it which for him, is high praise indeed. Would recommend.

This was my first visit to the town… We found great food and extremely friendly people from the moment we walked in. I shared the fajitas with a friend and they loaded us up with chips and Salsa! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great tasting Mexican food.

Stopped in for lunch during Oktoberfest. The wait staff is rather aggressive. They lure you into the doorway by putting then they pull you in. While we sat there I saw them do it to at least three other groups. We had margaritas and nachos, both overpriced, both tiny. When we went to pay they told us they couldn’t split the nachos between the four of us… What? It was really weird. Not impressed. Wouldn’t recommend.

Of our group of four we all agreed that the food was alright, but the drinks were horrible. So many other options in Leavenworth… Keep walking.

The food was good. I had the Pollo al la crema. The veggies were fresh and the cream was thick and amazing. That said, the drinks were AWFUL. I tried the World Class margarita(which the waiter sold as a Cadillac margarita) and it tasting nothing like a margarita, much less a Cadillac margarita. When we told the waiter that our drinks were not good, he seemed a little uncomfortable about it. He then tried to add more liquid in them(lime juice maybe?) but they couldn’t be salvaged. He didn’t bother remaking them entirely or offering a compensation. Our bill for 2 entrees and 3 drinks was over $ 60. We won’t be making visiting this place again. The 2 stars go directly to the taste of the food, the rest of the experience wasn’t worth it.

Food was good, but the margaritas were unexplainedly diasppointing. Of my group of 4, I was the only one to order a Jalapeño margarita in the first round which was excellent. The other 3 ordered a World Class margarita which was awful, despite being advertised heavily by the waiter. Then, the others and I ordered Jalapeño margaritas because the first one tasted so good. The waiter brought them over and said«These are extra special.» Wrong! They were awful… way too sweet and nowhere near the original Jalapeño margarita. In fact, they tasted rather similar to the awful World Class margaritas that were served earlier. I explained this problem to the server, and he added some extra lime juice, but there was no saving this awful margarita. Not sure what they were trying to pass off as margaritas, but it tasted like a lot of extra sugar. Clearly, they are capable of making a good Jalapeño margarita, because the first one was excellent. I suspect they got lazy when we ordered 3 of them and took shortcuts with their preparation. That said, I was pleased with the entrées.

Although we’re here during Oktoberfest we stopped in for a Margarita and snacks. Super busy and a little bit of a wait but well worth it. BEST taquitos I’ve ever had paired with a fabulouso margarita on the rocks! Definitely recommend! Cheers!

Quality of food was at best a 1 star. Service was extremely slow and the menu prices were on the higher end for Mexican restaurant. The portion sizes will leave hungry for an adult male. They provide just enough rice and beans to cover your plate, a thin layer. The make the smallest enchiladas I’ve ever seen. I strongly suggest another Mexican restaurant in Leavenworth if you want to avoid paying for a meal and leaving still hungry.

The food here was good. It definitely just missed some seasoning. The salsa was good but there was just a little bit of something missing. Same with their beans and rice they were good but they could’ve been great. Their drinks are good and strong I’ll give you back. Definitely not as bad as I expected given the location. :) NOTE: their chicken is not shredded. It’s really just diced chicken with tomato paste. Their enchiladas are awful because of that. It would be nice to see them have actual shredded chicken for their meals.

We were not looking specifically looking for Mexican, seeing as we were in Leavenworth. But we decided to give it a shot. It was a decent place. We ordered the fish tacos to split it, and a side if guac. Overall it was ok. Nothing spectacular, but good enough. The service was courteous and friendly enough.

Got the taco salad and tortilla soup. Both were meh. They tasted like something you would get from Applebee’s. No authentic Mexican flavor. Even worse, it feels like you are sitting in a Baha Fresh, but they are charging you sit down restaurant prices or worse! I know everything is overpriced in this tourist town, but the décor really needs an upgrade. I will continue go to Los Camperos when I want Mexican food. Cheaper, better flavor, bigger portions, good atmosphere.

We really don’t like Mexican food that much, but yesterday night, after waiting for 30 minutes for Wasabi Sushi and Thai Restaurant to take our order, we decided to give Carlos 1800 a try. We met the owner and told him about our terrible experience. He help us get a table fast, accommodate our 2 kids, 2 strollers, and makes us feel very comfortable. The service was great, the food was delicious, My mother in law that never liked Mexican food, LOVED it… the fajitas, chicken burritos were great… even the kids menu burger and fries was great… More important you could tell the staff care about customer experience, were always ready to help, listen and provide great service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I really congratulate the owner, we were extremely hungry and upset for our terrible experience in the Wasabi restaurant, and he apologize(even if it wasn’t his issue), and quickly help us get set and have a great time. He was always checking on us and even making conversation with my family. Congratulations! We are definitively coming back!!!

Ugh, the service was horrible, the wait to get our drinks was 20 minutes and then another 10 to place our order, then 40 to get our food, and the restaurant was not busy!!! The food was great, but for a table of 5, I was unimpressed with the service and the lack of attending to us at all.

My new favorite restaurant in Leavenworth! The food was awesome, authentic and tasty like you’d expect from a good Mexican restaurant. The staff was fun and the atmosphere was casual. I will definitely be coming back again!
