The last time we were here was for breakfast and we rated them 2 stars. This time we came for lunch. They seated us at a booth near the back and near the working area which was a negative. I enjoyed my chimichanga but she didn’t care for her chili relleno so, this time I’m giving them 3 stars. ___ We’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for more than 25 years

We decided to try this place for dinner since the restaurant next door changed to only serve breakfast and lunch. We had excellent service and good food. Have been back several times since then and have been pleased with every visit.

Didn’t even get to try the food because we couldn’t even get a server to our table, so we just left.

This was my first time trying this restaurant. The service was great despite a busy Cinco De Mayo. The food was even better! Our waiter talked me into their margarita and I was very impressed. I can’t wait to go back!

First time here. The service was good, I really appreciate this. I will say that what we ordered was just okay. quesadillias and stuffed avocados. The bar area is really nice, and appears to be extensive and a fair amount of variety. I wish the food was better, but I did not hate the place.

5 stars for service but the food, that’s another issue. We ordered the white cheese dip, that was good. Our drinks were awful. Don’t order the very watered down lemonade or horchata. They also charge for refills. Which is fine but most restaurants will tell you in advance. The food is typical frozen Mexican food. No flavor. Very genetic!

My parents and I came here for dinner. The food was good for the most part. I had their supreme burrito and it was pretty good. Their rice was bland and their margarita was okay. Service was good except they asked us multiple times what we were saying. I guess they didn’t understand English? Might come back or might not.

Too crowded! Drinks were super weak! Food was tasteless! Waitstaff was super slow! You should truly go to Barcenas instead!

We love this place. It is close to the house and it is always great. From the drink specials to the meals. The staff is great, friendly, and very attentive. We frequent Saturday nights and relax with a meal and drinks. The Carnitas are very good, the Chalupa is superb, the Enchiladas with shrimp and crawfish are awesome. The Margarita top shelf is awesome… Try it out… The queso(white cheese) I sawesome.

Love this place! My family eats here at least once a week. I live by the 518 location and work by the 96 location. The food is consistently good, the staff is friendly and the margaritas are strong! What more could you want.

This place is just consistently good. Never have had a bad experience. They actually see to be overstaffed, which is a good thing. Try the alambres You will not be disappointed!

My family and I love this place. Beef fajitas are the best. The salsa is served warm and is good spicy. The staff is awesome. Restrooms are very clean and the place is kid friendly.

The best thing about Mr. Sombrero is the service. I’ve been several times and each time we have had the same waiter. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name right now but he is so friendly and attentive and always makes sure you have what you need. The food is good, it won’t blow your mind but for the prices and the convenient location I will definitely continue to eat here. So far I’ve had the ground beef tacos which were a bit bland but otherwise pretty good, the cheese enchiladas which were pretty standard Tex-Mex fare, and the fajitas which I liked a lot. Their bar area looks nice, never sat there before but they have a lot of tvs and it looks like a fun spot to watch a game. I have noticed that over the last several months they have gotten a lot busier. The last time I went it was a Wednesday night and there was a 15 minute wait for a table.

Tried the place again. The service is outstanding. Their food is bland in my opinion. I reaffirm my original review.

I had the veggie Quesadilla, which was an appetizer and a lot of door for one for an entrée. My son like his kid meal cheese enchiladas because he got 2 with his order. Service was friendly and attentive.

Ate here for the first time and had a positive experience. Chips, red and green salsas were good. Ordered Pechuga Ixtapa and was mostly happy with quality and quantity. Chicken was slightly over cooked but still good. Will be back to check out other options

This is the second location opening for this family owned restaurant! It’s owned by 4 brothers that work really hard, take pride in their hard work & make sure everyone feels like family. This location needed a good mexican restaurant because we all know that Luna’s sucks. They make the flour tortillas fresh in house every morning, you can taste the love! You can always order the corn ones but those are store bought. The décor is beautiful, new & airy. The staff is also new & getting up to speed, they have brought in a few guys from the first location to help out until the employees are more confident. It does get loud when it’s busy but if you go on the off hours, it’s quiet & you can actually hear the music playing in the background. They ususally have sports playing on the TV screens if you don’t want to miss your game. Happy hour margaritas are only 3.75 $ a piece! They have a different drink special every few days too so you can try a blood orange or watermelon margarita. Every meal starts off with complimetary chips & a size of warm salsa, it’s really delightful. The chips taste much better & look different at the first location. I’m a huge fan of the chile con queso blanco, it’s authentic queso cheese with serrano peppers served with jalapeño chili slices of course. I’m never going back to regular orange queso! The small is enough for 2 people when you get a meal. The other awesome optiond to go with your chips is a side of the gaucamole salad, it’s basically mashed up fresh avocado with garlic powder & lemon juice. Simple to the point & makes you wish there was more! Let me start by saying that I usually get chicken as my meat, I always upgrade to the Al Carbon/chicken fajita meat option, I just loved the taste & texture of it better than regular chicken but that’s just personal preference! My 2 favorite dishes are the enchiladas al carbon & tacos bonitos. It’s just feel good food for me. The fajitas are perfectly cooked & mouthwatering, I’m not sure if there’s anything worse than overcooked meat but they are always great here. The stuffed avocadoes are also good option. Here are a few other things that I’ve enjoyed, the Quesadilla is surprisingly delicious. It’s the perfect combination of cheese, meat & fresh flour tortillas. My boyfriend loves the carnitas & tamales. Whenever he’s just tagging along with me & not very hungry, he gets the mexican guacamole! I’ve heard amazing reviews on the tortas so I’ll have to try them at some point. They serve breakfast burritos on the weekend until noon, I haven’t been there to try it yet. Not sure if they still serve dessert or not but they were good! The prices are very decent & I’m happy with the portion sizes. Take out is really easy & you can call it in & pick it up in 15 – 20 minutes. Great food is one thing but both of these restaurants have soul & that’s something you can’t put a price tag on!
