Some of the best gumbo in Houston. I had the Etoufee and the Riesling and my boyfriend had the little daddy gumbo and Firemans 4 beer. Had amazing service, the chef came and said hello and our server was amazing. They were out of bread pudding, but I did get the red velvet cake and Italian cream cake to go. Will definitely be back here. A staple for League City

I found this place on accident looking for chickfila. I’m so glad i did. If you are looking for great shrimp, gumbo or calamari, this is the place. The service is just a great as the food. Matt was our waiter and working a large table and still taking care of us. Excellent food and service!

We stopped by for lunch and was greeted with great service, good gumbo and excellent garlic bread. I think the bread was the best part. I will be back soon!

Good gumbo, great fried pickles(chips, not spears), and excellent service. Can’t wait to go back.

Love the Wedge Salad and the Shrimp Poboy. The fried pickles are great! It’s a little pricey for what you get.

We went to the gumbo bar on a quick lunch, and it was alright. We were seated quickly, and our server was a bigger woman that was pretty sweet. My husband and I got the small seafood gumbo, and it was huge! The flavor was decent, and there was a good amount of meat in it, but it tasted like there was something missing. Price wise, it’s a little up there, but seafood usually is. There are a few other items on the menu that looked pretty good, so we may be back.

I went to Little Daddy’s in League City to meet a couple of buddies for lunch. It was my first time there. I ordered the combination shrimp and oyster po’boy. We also split an order of their cheese bread for an appetizer. Sure, I was really hungry, but that cheese bread sure was good. It was loaded up pretty good with garlic, which I really like. I was told the crawfish there is really good when in season, but since I had crawfish just a couple days before(and really good crawfish at that), I decided to go with something else — the po’boy. I thought the po’boy was pretty decent. Actually in terms of most seafood po’boys you get in Houston, it scores on the good side. I went with the large, and holy cow, it was a big old sandwich. The bread was good, but I thought there was a little too much breading on the shrimp and oysters. If I remember correct, the sandwich was $ 9.99, which I thought was a very good price for a sandwich that size. My two buddies got a cup of gumbo(which is actually a very large bowl, and not even close to a cup). It looked really good, and they loved it. In hindsight, I wish I’d gone that route and split the sandwich with one of them. The service was very good and the place was very clean. Yes, Little Daddy’s is located in a strip center in suburbia with very little«charm», but I thought being a clean restaurant with good service and an excellent value in regards to the portions, I don’t have to have that charm. I would definitely return to Little Daddy’s if I’m down that way or in Galveston, but I don’t think I’d make a special trip for it.

Seafood gumbo was tasty and made fresh to order. Normally I don’t care much for oysters but I had a cold and couldn’t taste them anyway. Staff was friendly too. Not a bad place to go for lunch.

Ok, so here’s the thing. I absolutely HATE okra. I don’t like the little green snotty things. That being said, I’m always eyeing this place every time I pass it up while I head on over to the Five Guys 2 stores down. But with me needing to try all things cajun I thought, why not here this time around? The place is pretty neat, a lot bigger than I had imagined, more than what the outside would have you believe. We were seated promptly. It wasn’t that busy, maybe one other couple(I believe it was around 5:30pm). But right after I was wondering where everyone was, everyone decided to come. Literally, it went from having two parties to having only 2 tables left. So with me having the worst aversion to okra I tried to get other things on the menu. I started out with their char-grilled oyster appetizers. Amazing. It was everything I expected them to be. It came with a few slices of bread, crostinis perhaps that’s what they’re called. My friend decided to try their gumbo, and asked if there was a version without okra. I immediately perked up when she said they could do that. I guess today would be my lucky day finding someone who can make an okra-less gumbo. She explained they throw in the ingredients after the fact, and they would just omit okra. So we ordered our gumbo. Not too long I received my food, my friend starts eating hers. She commented that it was a little bland for gumbo. But when she added the gumbo seasoning with hot sauce it tasted a lot better. But to my horror, she fished out okra. I looked through my bowl as well and found some too. *le sigh* I let my waitress know, to which she apologized, that normally they’re good at omitting them. She took it back and I wasn’t charged. I noticed they also had fresh crawfish, but at $ 8.99 there was no justification for that price ESPECIALLY during crawfish season where establishments try to stay competitive to the lower prices in the springtime. With the higher crawfish prices and discovering okra in my gumbo, I was kind of bummed, so I waited for my friend to finish her food, then we went across the street so I can have a slice of NY pizza from Russo. Allin all, while I can’t comment on their gumbo I can say that they make pretty good oysters. Their serving sizes are also pretty decent, but with the prices to match. I would still come here though, but only if I was invited. Their other food looked pretty good. If I should be back in this place I’m going after the BBQ shrimp.

Complete and utterly overpriced. Five min after sitting down a customer accross spit his food out and complained to the manager. Then we found plastic strings in your french fries… food was below decent and way overpriced like stated. Waiter was very very nice. But will never come back.

Solid gumbo. Shared a small and salad w my wife, it was plenty and all tasty. Stephanie was our waitress and she really helped understand what we needed(size, flavor, etc). Nice to have a great waitress at a strip mall restaurant.

Every time I place a to go order they quote 15 – 20 minutes and it ends up taking 45 minutes to an hour. Just say it’s going to take 45 minutes so I don’t sit there waiting! That’s why we call it in so we don’t have to wait! Ridiculous. If I wanted to sit in a restaurant I’d go SITINTHERESTAURANT. The food isn’t even that good anymore and the service is even worse.

Wow! Another great dinner here. There is no better place to have gumbo in or around Houston. I live inside the loop and will drive down to League City to have a bowl of their seafood gumbo any day of the week. I usually sit at the bar and get excellent service. Also, they have a pretty good beer selection(Side note: You have to have an Abita with your gumbo). I will be back very soon!

Food was amazing and service was outstanding. Definitely sit at the bar if you can. ONLY complaint is bathrooms was a little dirty and floors needed to be swept. This was on a Monday night and fairly slow. I will definitely be back though.

Yum! Sit at a bar that will serve you both beer AND gumbo… and the gumbo is the main event? Sign me up. Cute little place for simple cajun gumbo. The roux was a little dark for my tastes, but still delicious. You can get sea food or chicken and sausage(or both) and watch them make it right in front of you. Also, any place that provides three sauce options is A-OK with me! Sidenote: I don’t think this place serves liquor, just beer and wine.

Pleasantly surprised! The etouffée and chicken/sausage gumbo were great. I also recommend the garlic bread, it compliments both entrees nicely.

Stopped by for lunch with friends who have been here before. We started with the fried okra which had a great crispy corn meal coating that packed a little heat. I had the seafood gumbo that’s supposed to have shrimp, crab and oysters. I asked for it without oysters and was told they would substitute extra shrimp. The broth was delicious. However, there were a total of 7 shrimp in my bowl and not a piece of crab in sight. I would have complained but we were in a rush to make an appointment. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, is clean and the staff was especially friendly! This could have been a four star experience if I was happy with my entrée.

This place is okay for Cajun food. Their prices don’t make up for how much you’ll get on your plate or how it tastes. I ate here for lunch yesterday with my cousin. She was craving cajun food and I was amazed to find a place nearby. When we first arrived inside we was seated at the bar. The atmosphere here is very calm, it didn’t make feel like I was elsewhere or in Louisiana. I’m guessing a local artist painted an abstract mural on the wall to give it that southern feel. Most of the staff here when we came was just standing around staring on the other side of the bar as if they didn’t anything else to do. Our waitress seemed as if she was the only one working. Assisting everyone who walked in. Well, to the food. My cousin ordered the shrimp platter it was $ 19 and for the price it wasn’t enough food. It came with only 6 shrimps and greasy fries. When she pinched the fries against her fingertips she could literally see grease or oil coming off of her fingers. Her shrimps were seasoned very well it’s just her fries tasted as if they were fried in old oil and greasy. I ordered the po-boy since I love po-boys. Here you can get half & half so, I ordered half catfish tail and oysters. I thought it would be half one thing and half the other. It was mostly mixed in the fish mixed with the oyster, I couldn’t really taste anything separate. The bread was very tough to chew it was hard and the fish and oyster both tasted fresh. It wasn’t that good to brag about it was just okay. It tasted very average, bland with no seasoning. Just 1 po-boy cut into 3s for $ 12 and no fries. If your ordering a non-alcoholic drink it isn’t on the menu and it will be $ 2.79, I ordered a lemonade and didn’t receive a refill while we were here. Our waitress waited to last minute to give us refills. She gave us a to-go cups for our drinks. Pretty pricy for a drink, there wasn’t anything magical about it.
