Was super eager to try them out at the Clear Lake Shores Food Truck Park last week. Ordered the Red Velvet, Peanut Butter, and Cake Batter flavors(they had 3/$ 5). When we went up to order, the girl working the front did not greet us, just stared until we ordered. Did not tell us a total(we know it is $ 5, but still), and just handed us our food and walked away. This alone was a HUGE turnoff and completely unprofessional. Once we tried the cake balls, they were okay as far as flavor goes, but were as dry as could be. Will not be trying again, not impressed at all.

Best cake balls I’ve ever had. Everytime. Never had a bad experience with their product, or their people. Truly, one place that I don’t mind supporting around here. Keep up the good work Angie & Co!!!

I have been dying to try this place, as I LOVE cake balls. I really wish they would regularly update where there food truck is or is going to be. If you have a food truck that’s part of the business. I have messaged the Facebook page in hopes to find out where they’ll be and didn’t get a response. The web page doesn’t even seem to say anything about their food truck either. The only times I have seen where they would be was because of the food truck park updates, and the rare occasion they’ll be there. Help us out Angie! You have customers wanting to try you out, but we can’t find you!

I found this place on Unilocal so I had no back story as to whether or not anything was good. The store front is very hard to find. The only reason that I located it at all is because of the truck in the parking lot. As soon as I opened the door I could smell mildew. It was very strong like you forgot the clothes in the washer for two days kind of smell. Not appetizing at all!!! Then there was a young boy running in and out of the store bare foot. I wouldn’t mention this but having a barefoot kid behind the counter doesn’t seem very hygienic to me. If that is going on where customers can see then what goes on behind the scenes. With all the retail products cluttering the store it just felt less than clean. The cake balls were $ 2 each. That is double what they are just done the road about ½ mile. The assortment was very limited. I got 6 different flavors * Maple Bacon — Yucky! more grease than bacon ewwwwww… * Cookies and Cream — not a lot of flavor but didn’t taste bad * Birthday Cake — again okay nothing great * Raspberry — Very good flavor! By far the BEST! * Key Lime — Tart and tasty * Red Velvet — Beautiful color inside

We tried these at the Haute Wheels festival today and I had to write a review. I’m not usually a fan of balls near my face, but I’d have these any day of the week. I dislike cake and cake balls, so me eating these really tells you something about how great they are. We got three flavors for $ 5, cookies and cream, key lime and ginger beer. The key lime was super impressive, the cake inside was moist and flavorful. Super tart and not too sweet. Cookies and cream was amazing as well, and ginger beer was great. I probably wouldn’t get ginger again because it reminded me a bit of carrot cake and I just don’t care for that. I wish I would have spent my last $ 5 on three other flavors instead of beer. And again, if I want something – anything – over beer, you know it has to be good!

I’m usually not a cake ball fan, but these were wonderful. I tried the vanilla, chocolate and ginger. Loved the chocolate and ginger(vanilla never is my cup of tea). They aren’t sickly sweet like other cake balls I’ve tried. Don’t wait to enjoy these treats; they taste best fresh.

Goodies from a truck makes my work day better. My coworkers and I refresh our browsers on our phones to make sure we don’t miss Angies truck. The truck is usually at Lamar and Austin. There is always tons of flavors but my favorite cake ball flavor is cookies and cream. I get 6 for $ 10. The prices are decent. $ 2 for one but you can get 3 for $ 5 or the 6 for $ 10 like I do. These things last in the fridge too. I eaten some 3 days after purchase and was still yummy. I think these things are addicting and space out my purchases to prevent overindulgence. Lol. Props to the lady handling the truck. I asked on Facebook if she could come by my building and she did! Awesome customer service and kudos for bringing the goods to a prego lady. Sometimes I just bear the three block walk. Try these cake balls now! Follow them for location updates!

I was walking through Discovery Green today on my way back to work and a co-worker spotted the truck so we figured we’d try it out… Meh. I’ve definitely had better, the cake itself seemed raw and not cooked through. I had the Key Lime and my friend had the Peanut Butter.

I’ve known Angie for years, even before she opened her shop. She has the best cake balls I’ve ever tasted, and is always making new flavors. She is always trying to make her customers happy and I love her items. She also has brownies and homemade moon pies as well.

Ah, candy bark — it is the mediocre home baker’s best friend. The commercial candy bark coating results in an undeniably medicinal flavor and unpleasant aftertaste with every single bite. Candy bark is disgusting, it belongs nowhere near any real pastries — especially not when I’m paying $ 2 each. The birthday cake flavor seems to be the most popular, and to me that was where the candy bark flavor was the strongest. You could try to peel off the coating, but then you’re just left with a thick ball of mushy cake. Come on, tempering real chocolate can’t be that hard.

I tried this truck at the food truck festival. Here’s what I thought: angie’s cake where we ordered 3 cake balls. They are so rich, one could be shared by 2 or 3 people. One bite is all you need to feel satisfied. We ordered chocolate mint, lemon, & ginger beer. All three were amazing. I cannot choose one that is better than the other. I mean, its a cake ball, of course its amazing. The presentation was beautiful and noteworthy as well. Each cake ball was individually wrapped in a clear plastic bag labeled with its flavor.

By the time we got to the Food Truck Festival, there were only 3 flavors left. Angie suggested the Ginger Beer and we liked that one. We also got the vanilla on chocolate and that was disgusting to me. It was all mushy and not worth the caloreis so, I spit it out. :) for full review, go to
