Another of these locations and another mostly empty spot. Dickey’s is no contender to Holy Smoke, but I still expected this place to be busier. Parking lot is tiny, though… possible that is why… or maybe they’re scaling up too fast, reinforcing the thought I had at another location. Food here was closer to what I normally expect from this chain. Brisket was a touch fatty, but was moist and done nearly to perfection. Pulled pork was also quite moist and while I would have wished for a bit more bark on both(brisket was not sliced to capture that, though), no real complaints. In fact, the only issue I had was salt on the okra, which I assume was from putting it in the grease drain area where fries normally go… those also were slightly underdone, but not enough to cause any great distress. This location is another of the good ones and does a good job delivering on the quality that Dickey’s, as a chain, can be. It definitely could use greater patronage, but all the right components are here, including recharged BBQ sauce tubs, a full line-up on the fountain and very solid service. As I’ve noted, Layton, as an area, struggles a bit on the food side, but definitely not here… good showing all around.

Not the best, should have known since place was empty. Slow staff, waited for our online order, food was at best a C grade. Won’t go back.

Terrible place. Food’s not good at all, the place just feels dirty, and on our last online order, I went to pick it up and they failed to give us half our food; just forgot all about it apparently. I called them after I got home and found out and they realized what they did. I asked the guy to just refund what they didn’t give us because I wasn’t in the mood to go back out in a thunderstorm to drive across town and get the rest. He said they couldn’t do that, then says maybe they can just refund one of the meals because that would be about the same price, then says, uh, we’re really busy so I’ll have to call you back later about the refund, and hangs up on me. Given how little Dickey’ employees seem to care about their jobs, I can see how one of their other Utah locations nearly killed a woman by giving her industrial cleaner to drink instead of iced tea. I will never be a Dickey’ customer again, and wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

Wonder how long until this location shuts down forever. I’ve given this location more than enough chances to be as good as they were when they first opened, but today I’m done for good. Ordered chopped brisket sandwich… they’re out(they’re always out of something) so I decide I’ll go somewhere else… when lo and behold they found some in the back(how does one misplace a brisket?) Laziness from employees does not impress me. I get home with my sandwich and the bun is cold, lacking that warm, buttery goodness that I fell in love with the first time I ate there. My baked potato casserole filled the dish about ¼ full. Consistently, they are out of at least two meats(or apparently, it’s too hard to walk all the way to the back of the kitchen), the sauce/drink station is always quite messy, they can’t get drive through orders correct, take FOREVER in drive through, aren’t very friendly and certainly not worthy of my dollar. Peace out, Dickey’s…

We lived in Vegas the last two years. Vegas people do not know what good barbecue is supposed to taste like. This was our first time eating at a Dickeys. We were not disappointed. The ribs were falling off the bone. Coleslaw was tasty and crunchy. The beans delicious. The fried okra was crispy. The Mac and cheese was the only bad thing. Too much cheese and the noodles were very overcooked. They had 3 different sauces to choose from which were decent. Service was friendly and fast. One of those stars was for having honest to goodness southern sweeeeeeet tea. Not so easy to find around here. This chain beats Famous Daves any day if the week.

So disappointed. My partner and I love BBQ. We ordered takeout from Dickey’s because Holy Smokes is closed on Sunday and we were really itching for some chopped brisket without going to Famous Dave’s. We ordered two 3-meat combo plates because we wanted to try a little bit of everything, having never been to Dickey’s before. Our food was ready when I arrived(except fried items; they wait until you get there to drop them in, which was great). I made sure to grab some cups of their three BBQ sauces. Here’s a rundown of our meal: Plate #1: Chopped brisket, marinated chicken breast, cheddar sausage with fried okra, fried onion«tanglers»(thinly sliced onion rings), and a dinner roll. Plate #2: Pulled pork, 3 ribs, polish sausage with waffle iron fries, jalapeño beans and a dinner roll. All the meat was dry. Every single item. My chicken and cheddar sausage were cold. Everything was bland and had no smoke flavor. And the meat portions just looked sad and small. The sides were more memorable than the meats, which is upsetting. That said, the sides were also bland. The only thing we were happy about was the sauce selection. Their sauces, when hot, were a really great way to mask the disappointment. Basically, don’t waste your money. Just go to Famous Dave’s if Holy Smokes isn’t open.

Great ribs, fall apart brisket, and tasty pulled pork rounded out my 3 meat combo. Their baked-beans were good, but not a fan of their potato salad. Price was right because the portions were big. Could of had 5 Stars if the potato salad had less mayonnaise and egg flavor.

Horrible takeout service!!! First I ordered a coke and the girl proceeded to give me a diet coke. When I told her the mistake she stated that Dickey’s only has diet coke. Really??? When I finally got my $ 14 meal home I realized they didn’t give me any BBQ sauce so the meat was horribly dry and boring. I will never go there again!

Farmington Utah review. Fatty brisket, terrible. Pork had 0 smoke flavor. Asked for something different and did not receive. BBQ sauces uninspired, you call yourself a BBQ joint? Jalapeño beans bland and salty. No cutlery and no pickles. Will never return. Staff not professional, looked bored. Live and Learn.

I actually ate at the new Farmington location, but it’s not listed so I’m posting my review here. The place smelled wonderful, but all downhill from there. Disorganized, horrible service… granted they had only been open a week, but they obviously weren’t ready to open. Given that’s its kind of a fast-food-ish place, I did a double-take at the menu prices. I should have turned around and left. Brisket was tough and chewy, and the pulled pork a lot of grease and fat. Both needed a lot more BBQ sauce to wash it down. Cole slaw lacked flavor, and beans tasted like they came out of a can. Pickle spears were the best part of the meal. Much better food for the money at Famous Dave’s, in my humble opinion. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

I really like this place for a BBQ chain. It is better than Famous Daves. I eat a lot of BBQ so maybe my standards are too high. I got pulled pork sandwich and it was really good. I like their BBQ sauce. It is served hot the way it should be. The fries are made on the spot and fresh. The sides are not too good. They are pretty normal. The potato salad is forgettable. If you are looking for a fast place to eat that is pretty BBQ then hit this place up. You will get a lot of meat and the service is good. The atmosphere could be better, they need more tvs.

My husband brought us Dikey’s home for dinner tonight. We had the 3 meat family combo. We chose ribs, turkey, and sliced brisket. When we opened our food we had gotten the ribs and turkey but pulled pork instead of sliced brisket. The sides we chose were mashed potato casserole, jalapeño beans and macaroni and cheese. The mashed potato casserole was basically mashed potatoes topped with melted cheese and green onions. The macaroni and cheese was runny and blah. The jalapeño beans were a vinegar based recipe and you couldn’t really taste jalapeño flavor. You just got the spiciness. After a bite or two, nobody even wanted anymore. The meat all tastes the same and although I was disappointed at that I figured with the four different bbq sauces we could add it wouldn’t matter if the meat was bland. And then I realized that there was almost no taste difference in any of the bbq sauces. Very disappointing. Not to mention that all the meat was fairly dry. Another disappointing thing was having the cookie my husband paid for left out. And while people rave about the pickles Dickey’s include with your meal, they left those out too. We will never go back. The over $ 60 price for sub par bbq and a completely messed up order keeps us from even giving Dickey’s a second chance. The only good thing I can even think to put in this review is that we did enjoy the rolls. But that’s pretty much it. For good bbq I suggest Woody’s. For excellent bbq you should go to Holy Smokes which is just down the road.

I’ve been a Dickey’s fan for a long time but my experience at the Layton restaurant has been awful the last two times I’ve gone. Now I’ve always had a good experience when I go in the restaurant but I’ve gone through the drive-in the last two times and ordered the Big Barbeque Sandwich with 2 sides added on. Both times they forgot to include any utensils or napkins(it’s tough to eat a baked potato casserole and mac n’ cheese without utensils). Last night I went and the guy taking my order wouldn’t even let me finish what I was saying before cutting me off. I got the spicy cheddar sausage sandwich last night and the sausage was cold. Add on to that the fact that he literally opened the drive-thru window, handed me the food, and closed the window without saying anything or making sure I had what I needed and it was a really poor experience. I understand that a drive-thru isn’t the best place to look for good service but the fact that I’m writing a review because it was so poor should speak volumes to how bad it was. Whoever the kid is that was running the drive-thru window last night should be fired because I won’t be returning to Dickey’s and I would normally go at least once a week.

Honestly not e BESTBBQ ever but really great at a great price in a great atmosphere, with free ice cream and pickles to boot. I love that we can take just about anyone here and everyone(including the kids) is happy. Kids eat free Sunday is a big bonus! Worth the visit, and definitely take advantage of the daily deals.

I have found my new favorite BBQ spot!!! Really great sandwiches & friendly service. They don’t just serve sandwiches here but that’s all I’ve ate… I’ve been back several time since my first time two weeks ago. Just took my wife there for her first experience and I know she will be back. The homemade pickles are one of her favorites.

This was actually the first Dickey’s I visited. They recently opened up at the last location of Tasty’s, and they remodeled it into a quite nice looking place inside. The staffs here are always psych up on welcoming you here. Parking in the front can be quite packed, but they do have parking hidden in the back. The special of the day seems to be the best bang for the bucks here, and the portion was big for the price you paid unlike nearby barbecue joints that always cost an arm or a leg. The pull pork is decent quality here, sausage has a nice kick in spice, and ribs were acceptable. The best side items are fried ones such as orka, waffle fries, and onion tangles as they always freshly fried upon order. The jalapeño beans were a bit salty and mac-and-cheeses were just ok. In terms of price-to-portion ratio and quality, Dickey’s probably leading the game in this area for barbeque. Don’t forget the free ice cream and kids eat free here on Sunday.
