The Unilocal!reviews were the reason we visited the Silver Spoon. My husband and I were accompanied by another couple for dinner. The ambiance is a bit loud, given the old building, but it some how gives it a charm. While the service was great, the food was pretty disappointing. I should’ve known that it wasn’t going to be as good as Unilocalers claimed it to be, when the salad came out nearly completely covered in what seemed to be shredded colby jack. The dressing was delicious, though, so I’d advise any restaurant goers to ask for the salad sans cheese, or ask the kitchen to go light on the cheese. The«yeast roll» was the best thing I had that night — warm, fresh, and heart-warming. I would’ve been happier eating a plate of those over my ahi steak. The outside was done decently, but it was too salty and there was a bit of connective tissue in the fish. Like salt lick salty. I figured the sweet potato hash would’ve balanced the saltiness out, but those were even saltier. They hurt my tongue to eat, so I didn’t finish them. The asparagus was fine, a little al dente, but the flavor was right. My husband got the 8 oz filet of beef tenderloin. Again, the outside was done nicely, but it was far too salty. My husband’s got a considerably higher tolerance for salty stuff, but even he had issues eating it. The side of burgundy mushroom was awful. I’m a huge mushroom fan, so even poorly prepared mushrooms will be eaten by me, but these were inedible. It was as if the chef that night forgot how to use salt. The mushrooms were left uneaten, and I would definitely advise against them. Because we were with new friends, and I’m not really one to send food back, my husband and I shut up and ate our meals. But if given the choice to go back to this place, we wouldn’t accept. I cannot fathom why this the restaurant is one of Lawton’s best, especially considering the palate of each plate versus the price point. Perhaps their lunch is better, but I’m not really keen to find out. **EDIT**: the owner reached out to me, and had a fair point. I really should’ve mentioned to her that we were dissatisfied with our meal and that’s on us. The owner and the server were both incredibly attentive and caring, and in hindsight, they wouldn’t have minded if I had spoken up. Because of their great service, I will say that I would be willing to try this place again.

We are here because of all the great reviews and I’m so glad we did. We went around 1 pm and it wasn’t busy at all, which was great. I ordered the 50⁄50 — chicken salad and potato soup and my husband ordered their burger. Everything was delicious! The waiter was attentive and respectful. The owner was pleasant and appreciative of her customers. We found our new favorite spot! We will be coming back to try their dinner menu!

Welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and wonderful people. Everything I have tried has been tasty but my favorites are the burger, fried chicken and appetizer of crunchy fried shrimp. All desserts are great.

Loved this place! I went on the weekend right before the dinner rush. The atmosphere was homey without being tacky, and the owner sat us upstairs by the bar. The menu was small but well thought out, as was the wine list. So far it’s the best wine list I have found in Lawton, with reasonable prices featuring mid level wines to suit all palates. I ordered the fried chicken, potatoes and green beans and a glass of Hahn(St Lucia highlands) Chardonnay. The chicken they served was a little dark, which had me worried that it was old a reheated a few times, but that was definitely not the case. The chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection. The green beans were topped with bacon and sea salt and were to die for. I’ll definitely be going back! Especially since I found out they rotate their wine list(which I have yet to find anywhere else in Lawton).

I had a wonderful lunch! The food was delicious, the service was very friendly, and the space was really charming with eclectic and tastefully mismatched tables and chairs and complementary artwork. Definitely one of my new favorite lunch spots in Lawton. The menu had fresh and delicious sounding food, I had trouble finding one thing to settle on. The food was a welcome break from the usual chain and greasy spoon restaurants in Lawton. I ordered the soup and sandwich. I had the tortilla soup and it was outstanding. Nice big chunks of chicken breast, a very good tomato based broth flecked with tomatoes, roasted red peppers, black beans, black olives, onions, and fresh cilantro, topped with grated cheddar. The cilantro gave it a very fresh taste. My half sandwich was a fabulous chicken salad on fresh wheat bread, with a generous bit of fresh spring greens for color and crunch. The chicken salad was creamy with almonds, super tasty! There was a small side of kettle chips with black pepper and a pickle. I enjoyed every bite, I’ll be back!
