I was craving refried beans… I know, I know, so weird– even for me considering I’m not a bean eater(esp. a refried bean eater). I came here with the desire for my craving to be met. And it totally was. Literally the best frijoles of my life. Shrimp el Diablo and beef enchiladas were bomb. Shrimp were spicy, cooked perfectly, fresh and HUMUNGOUS. Enchiladas were tasty, wish there was a red sauce to accompany them. They actually give you fresh slices of avocado when your meal calls for a salad(not the prepackaged mushy powder+water combo). Service was standard for Lawton, but the server was sweet. Noticed her ear to a phone when she was refilling a customers beverage so that slightly turned me off. And soft drinks come in large 500ml bottles– so prepare for no free refills(fine by me but others be warned).

This is our go to breakfast place almost every weekend. But Lunch was terrible experience Authentic somewhat(i am 100% mecican) worth it not at all. We ordered the crispy tacos and tostada plates. They where soggy and tasteless the tortillas where also stale, a total mess trying to eat. Mentioned it to the waitress before paying and she basically just said«oh well the meat was probably juicy so that happens» then gave us the total. Very disappointing, what ever happened to taking pride in what you serve. I shouldn’t have to pay for what I didn’t get. Needless to say we paid the full amount but will not be returning ever again.

Excellent Mexican food, esp. the nachos and fajitas Don’t let the outside look fool you. Good and authentic. But staff has hard time speaking English and can be rude. Try that green salsa! Best in town. Sometimes we go there just for that! Well priced. 2nd best Mexican food in town. Try their HUGE breakfast burritos for the office. YUM!

We tried this Restaurant today because of the 4 star reviews We had enchiladas, nachos, and chips. With sapodillas for dessert. All were bad. Chips stale, sapodillas burned and flat. Nachos did not have enough cheese. Complained to waitress about sapodillas and she said they are always like that. I said they were terrible and we didn’t eat them. No response.

Just about as authentic as you will find. Food is excellent. Salsa is even better. Order and coke and you’ll get a Mexican coke, YUM. Good stuff!

When I can find an authentic Mexican restaurant, I’m all over it. There is a time and place for Tex-Mex, but Taqueria Guadalajara is not the place for it. Yes, they do have Tex-Mex options, but why would you do that when there are such great authentic options?! If that’s what you’re looking for, Ted’s is down the way. Fair warning that the salsa is not mild! If you can only handle mild salsa, you probably want to steer clear. I had the Carne Guisada, which I’ve never had before. I had seen a pic of it on Unilocal and knew I had to try it. The beef was prepared so well. The refried beans were more flavorful than any I’ve had before. Many times at Mexican restaurants the beans are just bland, but not these. However the rice was just okay. The guacamole was very good and fresh. I liked the corn tortillas too. I’d be happy to return here and try more of the menu, although the Carne Guisada was so good I just might have to have it again!

I saw Unilocal had 4 ½ star’s, so I thought I would try it since I love Taqueria’s, friendly service, food came out fast. I ordered number 20, which was 3 enchiladas; beef, pork and cheese, it was ok — average at best, the beans and rice were fair. Maybe I should’ve ordered the Pastore tacos, but was in the mood for enchiladas. This is a little whole in the wall, clean inside, friendly service. Chips and salsa average.

Absolutely outstanding Mexican food! Anything on the menu is truly authentic and you won’t be disappointed. The beer prices are alittle steep but the food makes up for it!

I travel for work and came here after reading great reviews on Unilocal. The service was great and the atmosphere was authentic(which is why it got 2 stars instead of 1) but as soon as I started to order I was disappointed. No margaritas. The queso is just cheese sauce and the quality of meat is extremely poor. As it’s a taqueria, I got fajita chicken, grilled shrimp and grilled fish tacos and it was all gross. The chicken was spongy, shrimp was plastic-y in texture without much flavor and the fish was super fishy tasting. I guess I’m the odd woman out here but I don’t see why this place has 4 ½ stars. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Food was excellent. I don’t find a lot of good Mexican Restaurants in Oklahoma I like. This was a winner.

I would say that it’s the most authentic tastiest Mexican place in town. But I’d still categorize it more as Texmex. I guess I was just a bit disappointed because I wasn’t looking for Texmex. That being said, the food was fast, hot and good. It’s worth checking out. Don’t let the exterior turn you away.

Perfect Mexican spot. Hot hot spice, friendly waitresses and great selection. The area is sketchy but the food is worth it. Try the individual tacos.

Excellent authentic Mexican food restaurant. I had 2 fish tacos and one taco with al pastor meat. Both kinds f avoid were delicious. The salsa was great as well, but if you don’t like it hot then be careful. I will eat here again if I am in Lawton again.

Lovely, authentic hole in the wall with warm and friendly service and delicious food. Their house salsa is delicious and I am hooked on their regular special, the chile rellenos(I always get cheese). It’s tucked away so it’s easy to drive by but you don’t want to miss this place.

I’m from Los Angeles, known for good food of all types, so just keep in mind I compare to what I’m used to. Compared to LA its a 3 star place, but compared to the rest of the food in Lawton it’s a 4 star. A lot cheaper than LA food though(= FOOD: Chips and salsa(3.5 stars): Salsa was good. Addicting and nice to munch on while waiting. Pork taco(4 stars): More flavor than the chicken. Chicken taco(3 stars): Dry, had to add lots of salsa. Rice and beans(3.5 stars): Not dry, standard but good. Fries(2 stars): I know this is a Mexican restaurant so I don’t expect their fries to be good anyway. Tastes like frozen fries which I’m sure they are. SERVICE(4 stars) Girls were nice and checked in on us. They will try to make anything you want which is nice. ATMOSPHERE(3.5 stars) From the outside it looked shady but it’s better inside. Clean. A lot of people did take out while we were here. You sit and eat then pay at the cashier.

¿dónde están los burritos de desayuno alrededor de este pueblo dos caballos? So I had to cheat a bit and get google to translate for me. I know, I know my Spanish is about as authentic as breakfast burritos at braums, burger king, sonic and the likes. Luckily though there are places around this town way more realistic than my Spanish and the fast food offerings. Oddly enough I spent less this morning than aforementioned chain options as well. Well this morning started like any other morning where I slept way to late for an early appointment with physical therapy and had breakfast on my mind. After yesterday with Amanda Nikki posting about Aranda’s my higher power(stomach) had breakfast burritos in mind. So to the food-quest-mobile(FQM) en route to Aranda’s. Thoughts wandering to delicious options I may find potato egg bacon or chorizo and eggs staples of the beautiful breakfast burrito. Driving down Lee I see the parking lot empty. «BAM!!! Missed the breakfast rush!» But no all the lights off, doors locked… I sulk back to my truck, can’t call it the food-quest-mobile when I fail on a mission. Alas, I start brainstorming like any hungry person on a mission from higher does I head to El Rodeo«OHYEAH! FOODTIMEBABY!!!» Walk up to the door, it doesn’t open!!! I attempt all means to gain access(jumping up and down in front of the sensor waving my arms) all to no avail. But wait! I think(get advice from the blog) there’s that place Holy Chip. To the FQM and off I go. I see it hidden in a small shopping plaza nestled between some apartments, across from a steak place, Japanese place, tattoo joint and easy access to the road. What I don’t see, cars in the parking lot! Ok they don’t open till 10:30. Ok ok ok don’t get distraught there’s a couple more places before i have to brief higher that I’m losing hope on a breakfast burrito mission on a Wednesday. On my way back towards the 11th Street area going to see if Julio’s was open, ding my mind(blog) said hey Guadalajara is open and has breakfast burritos. I get to my table and she brings me my coffee and a menu. Oh I don’t need that bring me the best burrito you have with everything on it! I wait about 5 minutes and here comes my proverbial unicorn, the morning sustenance. It stretches from one side of the plate to the other. It’s cut in half cleanly I hope only for convince of the dine in option. I pick it up my hand hardly fits around it. My anticipation grows and I take that first bite. There are a lot if potatoes in it which is fine wish a few more eggs but those weren’t lacking either. Maybe more bacon? Nope had that in every bite, Refried beans? Nope they were there every step of the way adding a different consistency and good flavor. Ahhh haaa, salsa and hot sauce! I like a bit of salsa and spice to my food. I must say the food was tasty and very filling. The waitress/hostess was a busy lady stocking the cooler with beer and the likes but forgetting to refill my coffee. No worries it’s slow I’m in no rush I walk up with my cup and get a refill very fast. So that’s my only gripe of this establishment. I know I will be back and eating many other options available on the menu and not just breakfast. I want to thank the bloggers here for the help in finding it. Until next time, enjoy your food, throw down in the kitchen and share it with the rest of us. Aron and the trusty FQM, out.
