Horrible, horrible and more horrible. An undercooked, starchy wad of dough with flavorless sauce and cheese. with so many other pizza options in the Lavallette area, there’s really no need to even read this review any further. Don’t go there! Message to owner: you actually have to BAKE the pizza! Gabeesh?

Loved the food here sometimes small is better! started with stuffed mushrooms that were just excellent. For Dinner we ordered and shared stuff Rigatoni with Vodka sauce and Chicken Masala and it was the best Vodka sauce I ever had anywhere. I actually asked for the recipe but of course a secret. The Chicken Masala was also delicious No room for desert the portions were too filling I have to say we went to several big establishments our week down the shore and this was our best choice in restaurants we made that week. I stopped there on my way home up to bring home a pizza that looked so good that others were eating and I was not disappointed. Highly recommend.

A group of friends and I ordered a hefty amount of food from here. We got our food pretty late and also specifically asked if we would be charged extra for changing sauces on our pastas — the waitress said no. When we get the food delivered, we paid and looked at the receipt to see we were charged. We called the oven to explain the situation and ask for our money back. The manager was beyond rude and told me to calm down and cursed at me. In addition to this the food was beyond mediocre and obviously out of a box. I would not recommend it but sadly there are few food options in lavalette.

My family and I have been going to this place for years. Had a meal this weekend and will never go back. Food was good but there was a small rock in my salad which nearly broke my tooth. I showed our server and she apologized. She didn’t offer a new one and the owner never came out to say he was sorry. At this point the restaurant was not busy and someone should have done something for us. Not only didn’t anyone come to speak to me, they charged me for my salad. After I paid the $ 120.00 bill in cash, because they do not accept credit cards, I spoke to owner who just listened to me and said I was right but still never took the salad off our bill or offered me anything. Never to return!

Oven is great Italian food in Lavalette! The service is great. Last time I went I got the stuffed rigatoni, delicious! Everything is good to eat there and it is a great place to get pizza to go as well!

This is one place we frequent when we are in residence in Seaside. First let me start by saying I love their pizza. I love their pizza and their rigatoni ala vodka, although it’s pretty difficult to screw that up. Those are the only two things I’ve had off their menu personally but my dinner companions have had other items and have been satisfied as well. It’s not really a big deal to me that the place is tight inside. We know when the busy part of the day is and just go off those hours. That being said, I have a huge problem with the service. I’m a little bothered that they don’t accept credit cards, I find it very«convenience store-like» that there is an ATM crammed in to that little pizza place but okay. I don’t know the reasons behind why they don’t accept CC or have that machine so I won’t judge too harshly other than what I already said. But the attitude of the people who work there seems to have steadily gone downhill in the past few years we’ve been eating there. The last time we were there, we all felt like we were a huge burden on the staff. I ordered pepperoni twist(a favorite for most regulars) and after about 10 minutes, our waitress came back to tell us that they didn’t have any made(this was 4pm) and… do you want us to??? I mean literally trailed off the end of her sentence as if it would have been a huge problem to make the item for us. Well we opted out of the twist because obviously it would have been a major pain to make one FRESH, but were very disappointed. She didn’t make any alternative suggestions either. Shouldn’t she have? Once we got our pizza, we didn’t see her again until the very end of our meal. Well past us wanting refills on our drinks. Which, we paid for. Yep! NOFREEREFILLS. At $ 2.50 for a «medium» sized soft drink, I would have stuck to water had I known. Meanwhile, as all this is going on, the place is filling up and apparent to all in my party, by people the owners knew. They stood just behind my table«catching up» to a large group of older women and we talking so loudly my husband and I couldn’t hear each other. It was rude. I know the restaurant is tiny, but certainly out of everyone, owners would be aware of this. There are pizza joints hand-over fist in the shore area that have better service than this. Although I enjoy the Oven’s food, after our most recent treatment plus the fact that we’re paying an «Outback Steakhouse» price for a drink refill, we’ll try our hand at some place, ANY place else the next time we’re down the shore. You too. Save yourself the trouble.

The Oven used to have good pizza, not any more. Go to Lenny’s or Mia’s.

Terrible food. No flavor. Overpriced. Fish tasted like it was going bad. Pasta and sauce bland. Totally dissatisfied. Place has been progressively going downhill. It is like the owner doesn’t care about the food or the customers. Will never come back. I hear Lenny’s up the street is good. I will go there from now on.

Oven Pizza & Restaurant: Your standard Pizza & Restaurant type BYOB the Jersey Shore is famous for. With«tightly spaced» inside seating along with about 6 – 8 outside tables which are coveted their menu is your standard fare with pizza, pasta along with chicken and veal entrees which basically covers about 95% of all of these types of locations. 3 for dinner last night very casual sitting outside on a perfect summer night. Arrive Friday around 9:30PM and tables still full, but we grabbed an outside table sat and were greeted promptly by hard working server Chrissy. BYOB she promptly opened our wines brought out an ice bucked for the whites and glasses and provided us with glasses and specials. We ordered a pizza to start LOL and 3 entrees each accompanied by house small house salad and bread. Pizza was good, not great but tasty the crust a little bit soft for my taste but cheese and sauces balanced. Entrees Shrimp Franchese egg battered and an about 8 fairly good sized shrimp no tails over linguini $ 16.95 very good dish. Veal Parmigna $ 18.95 sauce was good but veal was thin & tough like shoe leather probably should not have ordered veal here. Chicken piccata $ 16.95 was fresh but probably needed a little more lemon as it was a bit flat. All and all for what it is, it’s better than average and the veal not withstanding probably a repeat down the road. Service was excellent, portions average to large.
