I grew up across the bridge and a little ways down 37. I’d enjoy Sawmill every now and then back then but now that I have gone far away — really far away — the other side of the Mississippi kind of far away — i make it a point to drop in here for the pizza and beer bar special, and then get two or three of them! Ever since Sandy and then the fire, the boardwalk was never really the same and in a messed/sad way — made it better for The Saw Mill with respect to its now ocean view and its isolation on the boarder of Seaside Heights and Seaside Park. I will always love this pizza.

This is a Jersey Shore tradition! I love the pizza here. It’s fun to walk down to the end and sit outside while downing some huge slices. The best is when I did carry out and took it home for my friends from out of the state, and the pizza box had to be turned sideways to fit in the front door, enough said!

First time here. Nice huge bar with smaller ones on other side. This place is very deceiving in size it is quite large and their even adding on to it. Friends and I sat at bar tables. Bartender was wait staff. It wasn’t too busy but small crowd could still talk while we ate. We chose one of us to go over to bar to give our order bc she was handling it by herself. Our food came out all at once including appetizer(ggrr) we had ordered warm pretzel bites with cheese, only thing we could all agree on. I ordered chicken Chipotle sandwich. It was grilled chicken which was very moist and large, cheddar jack, bacon and Chipotle ranch with lettuce and tomato the fries that came with it were twists and very crispy and delicious. My friend ordered a sawmill chip salad looked very fresh and other friend ordered a cheesesteak. Which looked okay not a normal cheesesteak so expectations were disappointing. Food did come out quite quickly and we talked and shared all of our food. Definitely worth going back if I’m in the area again. Although it was sad looking over and seeing the«empty» pier. The view we had of the water was awesome and beautiful. I would have love to sat outside but too windy and other guests would’ve been too cold.lol.so next time your by seaside heights boardwalk take a stop in to the sawmill.

If you’ve been to the beach at Seaside, you’ve probably been in The Sawmill. In it’s convenient location on the boardwalk, this restaurant/bar is a good place to grab some lunch while you take a break from swimming and tanning. It’s got a beachy vibe, as it should, and has some good appetizers to snack on. Out of the handful of times I’ve been here, I’ve ordered the pizza, calamari, shrimp, etc. The food is tasty. It’s nothing to boast about, but it really hits the spot when you forgot to pack your beach lunches.

I’ve been hearing about this place forever. So when I finally visited Seaside, I decided to grab a slice. It was after Labor Day, so most of the shops and arcades and boardwalk activities were closed. But I was there for Sawmill and Kohr’s and both were open — so it was all good. We opted for a table and each hit the bathroom while we waited to be served. And waited. On the drive down, we both talked about how hungry we were. Sitting and waiting to be served, we just got hungrier and hungrier. Finally I just asked my friend if he wanted to go to their takeout stand and eat the slice on the boardwalk. We would probably get helped quicker. He agreed. So we stood up and walked out. When we FINALLY got our pizza, it was okay. I was expecting really good pizza, but it’s your standard Jersey slice. Which is leaps and bounds better than pizza anywhere else in the country, don’t get me wrong — but for some reason, I was expecting magical pizza from them. I feel like the size is really all they’re banking on. Too much flour on the crust. So yeah, just meh. I may never eat here again, but if someone wanted to go, I wouldn’t say no.

This place is pretty good for what it is. The French fries were really good, the drinks pretty good and the pizza solid. Definitely not a fan of the cheese steak though. It tasted like a cheap steakum. All in all, I’d definitely go back. Especially when you factor in all the garbage places on the boardwalk.

Their burgers are really good. The meat is juicy and the burger itself is huge. Way better then a mcdonalds burger for sure.

I have been going to the saw mill since I was a kid. great pizza and great fries. I had a unpleasant experience while dining inside however. my bill came to 25.54 and only received 14 dollars change. .the waitress took it upon herself to keep the extra 46 centd. doesn’t sound like much but over a course of a night could really add up. don’t understand how places decide how not to give your change back. if it is a round up or down policy they should price accordingly.. Needless to say her tip was effected

Stopped in to wrap up a drunken Wednesday night while on vacation with my boyfriend’s family. Teena was channeling her inner Leslie Knope that evening and kept our little party going with delicious shots and her infectiously positive attitude. Thanks for the good vibes!

The location is great. It is overpriced, but that is to be expected since the shore is seasonal. However, the flat paper plate they served my pear walnut gorgonzola chicken salad on was unacceptable.

THISPLACEISAWESOMESAUCE! No, really it has awesome sauce! My Husband and I came here for a late lunch. We simply wanted to kick back a few beers and a slice of pizza, and we got so much more! The service was great, and the food was delicious! We started with the famous cheese balls, and finished with a slice of pizza each. My Husband had a meaty slice of pizza, and I had the garlic slice which was incredible. The pie is huge, if you are interested in munching and drinking, I would suggest getting a slice and some appetizers, not the whole pie. Don’t miss it! Favorite stop on the Boardwalk!

I’ve been to the Sawmill before and enjoyed my experience if only the bartender didn’t act like I was the biggest burden in the world. And I went back this week in hopes for a nicer visit, only to have the same bartender with the same horrible attitude. My group of friends all are from work where we all serve and bartend so we completely understand the service industry, we weren’t loud or rude. We were quiet respectable guests. Yet our drinks sat empty for 15 minutes without question or refill, and when it came to splitting the bill the bartender responded,” you want me to split it with 6 cards or what?” When there was only 5 of us, and 3 cards. The food and drinks are great, but the service is ridiculous

After learning that they are under new ownership(which I believe is the original owners) we decided to go back. They have definitely gotten their act together. Service has been much better, the food is consistently very good, the atmosphere is great since the renovation and the fries are awesome. I am not always a fan of second chances, but in the Sawmill’s case, I am glad we have them one.

Worth the walk to the end of the Boardwalk every time. Awesome pizza and decently priced drinks, especially if you sit at the bar area and get the $ 5 slice and beer. New outdoor area really opens the place up, and the now unobstructed view of the water. Tons of tvs around the bar, staff friendly enough. The few times I’ve sat at a table have been okay as well, service a little slower there. Def my place to go every time I go to the boardwalk.

Not the best restaurant! They were unable to add veg to penne & had to get the Mgr involved. Got a chicken dish w. Mozzarella & that tasted like rubber! Pizza was a lot better than the entire meal!

There’s just something about Sawmill. Everyone you talk to who lives around here just says it feels like home. That’s where Sawmill gets it right. You just feel at home and you always see a familiar face. The orange crush is in my top 5 favorite drinks ever. It’s so simple, but so delicious. Fresh squeezed orange juice(key word: fresh), orange vodka, triple sec and sierra mist. Two of these to start the night off and you’ll have a good night. The pizza although average, is huge. It’s the perfect slice of pizza when you’re half boozed up and looking for something greasy and delicious to eat. The best part is you only need one slice to fill you up. I love the Sawmill and I always will. Despite the average food, it’s the atmosphere and home-y feel that will keep me coming back forever.

I’ve lived in NJ all my life, and it took me 36 years to finally visit Sawmill. I kept hearing about how it’s known for its monumentally huge pieces of pizza, and I can confirm — they’re gigantic. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, and I regretted not getting the gourmet slice(which has a whole slew of toppings for just a little bit extra). Great location with nearly panoramic views in the east end of the building at the bar area. This is a great go-to place if you watch sports on Sundays.

1st very happy to see that a least a small town of Funtown remained after the fire. They did quite a job fixing the place back up and putting tables outside and even lined up a couple palm trees. Not quite sure what will happen come winter time. New bar areas and all modernized but it is still the loudest dam place you have ever been in. My God why is everyone screaming? Stopped by for lunch with a few family members and service was fast and efficient even had happy hour beer and wine specials. … First off I remember the days yes the 70’s when they had a slice and a beer or soda special. The Pizza is still gargantuan but at the same time it was completely flavorless. $ 25.00 for a plain 27 inch pizza but what difference does it make if it has no flavor. Ultra Disappointing. Cheese Steak $ 9.99 comes with Fries and Pickle. Fries were an absolute 10 some square cut fresh battered fries top shelf. Unfortunately the cheese steak failed. A soft bun not toasted as described while the peppers /onions were barely cooked. Slice of yellow American cheese on top not wiz and the standard chopped rib eye that was pretty tasteless as well. All and all FAIL. The Sausage sandwich was slightly better but again the almost raw peppers and onions killed it. Basket of cheese balls at $ 7.50 were ok… but in all fairness I don’t like them anyway. All and all it’s ok for a quick drink out on the ocean south end of boardwalk. I’d pass on the food for anything other than the Fries. Understand the seaside ordinance but the ability to have a drink outside would go a long way here.
