This was once a great place to visit, but sadly not anymore. The current manager doesn’t seem to care about customers nor the product. She takes short cuts, like putting ice in milkshakes, and covers these decisions with poor excuses. I understand it is hard to run an independent business, but there are better ways to go about it. One too many disappointing visits and interactions with the manager, I no longer recommend this community ice cream shop nor will I be returning.

Great place to have a quick treat. They have Hershey’s ice cream and also baked treats. Places to sit and eat inside or out. Has the mom and pop vibe which I enjoy versus those corporate places.

Full Disclosure: I worked P/T in a Baskin-Robbins as a teen. That sets my bar for ‘scream pretty high. Cute little local business in a house in the historic area of Laurel, so I was hoping to love it. Sigh. The ice cream is Hershey’s rather than house made. It’s decent quality premium, much like Breyer’s, but nothing special. I picked a flavor and placed my order, and while the nice lady was scooping it, I said to the conehead behind the register, «let me pay you now so I don’t have to juggle.» By the time he comprehended and rang me up, the cone had arrived and I had to juggle. And at $ 3 for a single scoop cone, it was no bargain. It made me wish I’d ducked into the B-R at the Dunkin Donuts on US1 instead.

Had the card with 5 punched holes out of 7 for free ice cream from last fall. Today bought ice cream and showed the card. This card was denied because of changed owner and I was given a new similar card with the first punched hole. Spoke with the new owner a while ago through the videophone sign language interpreter and expressed my feeling that it wasn’t fair. She appeared insensitive and expressed more concerned for her business than me as the customer. She challenged me saying she didn’t want to lose a lot of money from her business if other people show the same card from the previous owner. Rip-off. I’d not go to that place ever again.
