We went there to get a Nikon camera checked up. Pete the guy inspecting the camera was very helpful and saved us $ 15 letting us know honestly that the camera lens was so badly damaged which was not worth expending a lot of money on the camera repair. I would definitely would come back. Thank you

Great turnaround time for the repair of my Nikon D600 whose flash unit I had damaged. He did my estimate and I had my camera back in four days in perfect working order. So much easier than mailing it back to Nikon in NJ! His price was reasonable as all nikon parts are expensive.

I called Camera Clinic and specifically asked if they could take the film out of an old 8 mm movie camera in a darkroom and put it in a container. I spoke with the owner. Meantime I get there again I make my request and this jerk opens the camera in the store where there was light. He proceeds to tell me that the film was no longer good anyway so what did it matter. Hello!!! Anyone home in that head of yours??? If that was the case you should have mentioned it on the phone before I made a trip over to the store. But I asked you the owner of this establishment to specifically do something for me as a customer. What the… If I wanted the camera opened in the dark room and the film put into a container — you do it. PERIOD. My choice. I pay my bill and I leave. Would never go back there again.

After my terrible experience over at Wolf Camera(see previous review), I was a Little leery to walk into the Camera Clinic. The place looks like a pawn shop, as apparently they fix everything-TV’s, VCR’s, electronics and so forth, and everything is piled all around for you to see. So I was a little skeptical as to the amount of camera knowledge they posses ed. The guy at the counter was friendly(which counts for a lot in my book), and admitted he didn’t know anything about cameras or lenses but the camera expert did, and it would cost me $ 15 for an estimate on the lens and camera I was dropping off. No problem. At that point, the camera expert came out and introduced himself-his name was Robert-and picked up my camera and said immediately«this camera was used on a boat or kept in a house very near the ocean’. BOTHSTATEMENTSWERETRUE!!! I was sold! He then went ahead and checked the batteries, looked at the lens and gave me free advice for about 15 minutes. There was apparently nothing wrong with the lens(except the user LOL) and a small crack in the plastic, which he can fix. He also said if everything checks out, there is no reason not to keep the older film camera. WOLFCAMERATOLDMETOTHROWTHEMBOTHOUT. So I left both for him to look at and they will call with an estimate. The only reason that I gave them only 4 stars was I don’t have the prices yet. But far and away better service than Wolf. When I asked him about locating a class on photography, He gave a couple of suggestions and also said whatever you do, don’t take if from a camera shop(like Wolf), since essentially their goal is to sell you something. So I walked out happy, learned more than a few new things about my camera, and am keeping my finger crossed on the price, although it is a $ 600 lens, so anything under $ 100 would still be a good deal! I am alway a fan of supporting the local mom & pop’s if possible, and it seems I have found a new repair shop, alway good to know one in neighborhood!
