Excellent food, excellent very attentive service. I had veal and my wife had a steak, both were delicious and under $ 20.

When in Ft Lauderdale was looking for some dinner and a brew. Found this gem down the street from our hotel and the clams reminded me of clams we have up here at the Cape. Nice décor and allowing us to order at such a late hour(945) was nice and made the food taste better. Very laid back dress code made the eating easy too. Lounge seated and a singer and piano bar made the evening. The next night we went for prime rib which was good as well, the comfortable atmosphere made the meal a good one as well. If ever back in the area will be going back!

Arrived at about 8:00 on Saturday night. We were greeted immediately and seated. The atmosphere and décor reminded me of an old school NY steak house. The crowd was a bit older but that certainly is not a problem. They had servers that were in charge of bread and water. All very friendly and engaging. Our waitress came over and took the drink order. Wonderful drink. Not stingy at all. Impressive. I ordered a veal chop and my partner ordered macadamia crusted grouper. Wow is all I can say! My veal chop was phenomenal as was the grouper. Both came with a salad. The prices were extraordinarily reasonable. The service was superb. The entire evening was totally perfect. We WILL be back! I highly recommend that you give this place a try. Great Italian food on the menu as well.

We were a party of 4 and arrived Sunday evening at 5:45. We were seated promptly and since the ladies had pre-ordered the twin lobsters, my friend & I took a few moments before ordering the planked salmon and the rib-eye steak. All the dishes came with a nice salad and a bowl of rustic white bread and raisin bread to nibble on. The main courses arrived and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The portions were generous and the kitchen had cracked the lobster for easier eating for the ladies[ altho bibbs were absolutely necessary. The steak was done just as requested and salmon was excellent, Our server Joe was attentive and with his assistants took excellent care of us. In all, a very nice evening and a good meal in a nice atmosphere.

My husband and I dined here on a Saturday evening with 2 other couples. We had made a reservation although it didn’t appear it was necessary. At 6:30 pm it had plenty of tables available. The menu has plenty of choices and we enjoyed a very nice salad that came with the meal. We all enjoyed our meal and had plenty of food. The nice thing about this restaurant is that it is quiet enough for our conversation. So many restaurants are so loud today, you can’t hear the person across the table. The white tablecloths and cloth napkins added a nice touch, as did the singer who was in the background and not drowning out our conversation. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and meal, I am just perplexed as to why there isn’t a line out the door to get in this place!

First visit to this resturant. There for my wife’s birthday. Service was a little slow but attentive and apologetic. Food was exceptional. My wife had the Cedar Plank Salmon and I had Veal Parm with ziti. Desert and coffee finished it off very nicely.

We had reservation for 8pm but when we arrived it was not necessary. Restaurant is richly appointed with dark oak walls and bar and dimly lit for ambience. They had a nice 3pc jazz band entertaining the entire place. We were seated right away. Our waiter was an experienced professional that was attentive and accommodating. They had a twin lobster special which no one tried. Steak was good but he brought the wrong cut. Someone else ordered veal chops another had fish and wifey had a seafood trio of lobster, scallops and crab cake. We would go back maybe just not rush back. I recommend them

The Chatham House menu is a la carte. I get that. We all knew this going in. What I did not know is that a thimble full of sour cream to accompany my $ 29 steak and potato would constitute a $ 1.50 a la carte up charge. This is outrageous! The owner simply said«this is our policy». Restaurants that conduct business in this manner just prey on the tourists and give the area a bad name. What a ripoff!!!

So happy I ventured away from the beach to find this gem. Only a block east of the ocean, its service and food blows the tourist traps in that area out of the water. I was there before 6 so I was able to get the Cedar planked salmon with asparagus and rice along with chowder to start and tiramisu for dessert($ 20). Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks to my bartender, Bob, for guiding me through the menu & wine parings.

I arrived at 5:45 to an empty restaurant which was surprising since they offer a sunset dinner before 6pm. We were a table of 8 and they had our table ready. We all ordered of the sunset menu. There are many Italian options for under $ 20 that include soup or salad, entrée and side, and dessert. They also serve white bread and a raison cinnamon bread with whipped butter. The salad was mixed greens with tomatoes, cucumbers and all dressings are home made. I had the creamy garlic which was delicious. My entrée was the gnocchi Bolognese. I’ve had better gnocchi at Hot and Soul, but the sauce had good flavor. I would not order this dish again. My friends raved about the large salmon with rice and asparagus. For dessert, I had the pistachio pound cake and pistachio ice cream. This was great! I tasted my friend’s lemon cheesecake which was also delicious. The tiramisu was creamy and espresso tasting… also great! My friends all agreed we will return for the sunset dinner. So many options for a great price! The restaurant was 75% full at 7:30 pm. On Saturdays they have a live«Frank Sanatra» style singer. He sounded excellent and the volume was perfect for having a conversation.

The front sign for Pa’ DeGennaro’s, which had been around for a good number of years, is gone; in its place a there is a new but of the same sign design saying Chatham House. Also on the Internet, a new Chatham House web site Having reviewed Pa’ DeGennaro’s in May of 2012 and finding it to be rather good I was somewhat surprised by the changed over so thought I’d give this«new» Chatham House a try. Upon entering the only surprise to me was that there wasn’t any surprise at all. Matter of fact, I could just about copy my same old review of Pa’ DeGennaro’s for that of the Chatham House because, try as I might, I couldn’t really observe or see any definitive change. Everything about the décor and appearance appear exactly the same. And though I might be mistaken, I could swear that I saw some same familiar faces with regards to the restaurant staff. The menu however seems to have changed, being somewhat less Italian oriented than it was before but to be honest, and even though the sign out front indicates so, I really can’t be sure. However, the menu is good, complete in its offerings and specials, the service good, nothing about it that I could fault but the entirety of it struck me as being somewhat boring, seemingly lacking in a certain luster, sparkle or pizzazz that I’ve normally come to expect in comparative restaurants of the same caliber. It’s definitely old world with large portions that I would say were intentionally designed for everyone to have something left over to take home or sort of set up with the elderly patron in mind. Indeed, at my age of 69, I can confidently say that I was without any doubt the youngest customer present, but then maybe that was because I came early. I started off with their clam New England Clam Chowder which my neighbor who had previously dined at the Chatham House recommended to me as being the best ever, and after trying it for myself, I agree. So, if you happen by here and enjoy a great tasting clam chowder, it’s a must to try. I then order the clam strips which came with a creamy sauce similar or in fact a tartar. I found them to be OK, but nothing worthy of any particular note other than mention that it did come with a good half lemon wrapped in a cheese cloth rather than the simple lemon slice wherein you also end up with seeds. For some odd reason most restaurants in the Lauderdale area, even those specializing in seafood such as Southport or Kelly’s, seem to serve the same or such with a creamy tartar like sauce while elsewhere the same dish generally comes with a red cocktail sauce. For my entrée I went for the Seafood Pasta which came with what I could discern as being shrimp, mussels, clams and fish over a heaping amount of linguini pasta in a tomato saffron broth.
