I can’t believe I am giving this place 5 stars but I have to. It’s damn good! Chinese food to me has to fall into 2 categories. Authentic or greasy Queens style. Authentic being bird beaks and feet in my soup, pork steamed buns and a lot of other food I don’t like. If it’s the greasy Queens style, it better remind me of my formative years on Long Island. This place does just that. If I am trying a new diner or breakfast spot, I order scrambled eggs or eggs over easy, potatoes and toast. If you can’t make that, you fail. The same holds true for a Chinese restaurant. Sweet & sour chicken, fried rice and an egg roll. This restaurant nailed it. The chicken was white, really light and crispy batter. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect. The vegetable fried rice was perfect. My only complaint is one I have everywhere. Please consider making a won ton soup with vegetable wontons or just empty won tons. The soup was a fabulous flavor but I don’t eat pork. Thanks J’s kitchen!

In the mood for Chinese over the weekend, but it was late and we were hungry so we decided on take out instead of sitting down. We absolutely love Ala Shanghai, but some of our favorite dishes there don’t travel all that well. Have passed by J’s Kitchen many, many times without stopping. Gave it a try and are glad we did. Very solid American-style Chinese take out place. Nothing fancy, but everyone enjoyed their meal. It was great to order on-line. Our pretty large order was exactly correct. Next Chinese take out night, we’ll definitely order from J’s kitchen again.

Food and service are reliably off the charts! We order from here often, and have yet to be let down. The food is always hot and full of flavor and delivery time has never exceeded 30 minutes.

Storefront Chinese takeout place that punches way above its weight with fresh skillfully prepared Asian food. Incredible value.

This was my first and last time ordering from here. Food was cold when delivered. Missing part of my order. Subpar in taste. I just can’t seem to find a good Chinese food place in this area. My dog wouldn’t even eat the sweet and sour chicken.

I don’t know why Unilocal is listing reviews for a different restaurant(Amazing Wok) here. Amazing Wok closed and was replaced by J’s Kitchen. My review was for Amazing Wok(below). J’s kitchen is just not very good. We’ve ordered twice and have been completely disappointed. There is no good Chinese takeout in that area any more. My older review for Amazing Wok(4 stars): Very good Chinese take out, best one in the Latham area. Have used it numerous times and the only problem is sometimes you get a different cook I guess? It just tastes a bit put together and not the usual. But most of the time this is very good and no surprises.

The first time we got takeout from here we liked it. The three experiences since, however, have finished my relationship with Amazing Wok. My expectations relatively simple, I think, and they can’t seem to meet them. 1) I would like the time estimate to be close. I know unexpected things happen, but don’t tell me 10 – 15 minutes and then not have even started cooking my order when I arrive 15 minutes later. 2) I would like the items I order to actually be in the order. I don’t really want to have to make a second trip back because you left something out, or because you gave me the wrong thing. 3) I would like the quality of the food to be somewhat consistent. When I order a spicy item it should be spicy, and the dishes should include the same ingredients every time you make them. If any one of these things went wrong occasionally I could deal with it. When all three things are problems three visits in a row, I’m out.

We ordered Amazing Wok at work last week, venturing away from our usual Chinese spot, and that turned out to be a mistake. No one was particularly pleased with the food quality and after most of us had finished eating, a coworker found a bug in her food. Needless to say, none of us were thrilled. When a coworker called to let the Amazing Wok know what had happened, there was absolutely no reaction. This leads me to believe this may happen often enough to create complacence among staff. I shall NOT be eating here again.

The Chinese food here was pretty good. I was looking for a Chinese takeout place in Latham to grab some lunch and also offers lunch specials(on Sundays). I already knew that the newer Chinese takeout place down the street and the place in Latham Farms only offers lunch specials on Mon-Sat only. So I decided to check out Amazing Wok(next door to the 76 Diner), which does offer lunch specials everyday until 3PM. This is a standard Chinese takeout place with counter/open kitchen and table seating in front of the counter. This place serves up the usual Chinese dishes including Hunan, Szechuan, and Cantonese cuisine, no MSG. 41 luncheon specials($ 4.95-$ 5.95) and 23 special combination plates($ 6.85-$ 7.85) are offered here. A weight watchers menu with over 40 items is also offered, served with steamed rice and ginger garlic sauce on the side. I ordered the L8($ 4.95 plus tax): Pork Lo Mein with Pork Fried Rice and choice of soup(I chose hot & sour). The food was ready in 10 minutes. The generous portion of food was very good and simple. The lomein had tender pork strips and vegetables(including snow peas). The fried rice(yellow color) had tender pork cubes, peas, carrots, and onions. The hot & sour soup was pretty decent tasting and light with medium spiciness with red pepper flakes, tofu, mushrooms, & bamboo shoots. There was enough food for two meals. (Overall, 3.5 stars, rounding up because lunch specials are offered daily)
