Just an all around bad experience. When I checked in I pay extra for wifi. It was very slow so I called the front desk only to find out that the building that they had checked me in to didn’t have wifi. And then I was told to use the hard line only to find out the there modem was not there. So I ask how long before this was fixed since they had ripped me off on the Wi– Fi. And the clerk acted as if I were the problem and told me they outsource the I.T. so only stay here if you enjoy getting punched in the balls and paying 12.50 Ho have them outsource it.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. **Im really only writing this because I wish someone had written this for me** the reviews prior to mine on this page are from really kind understanding people. Being kind and understanding isn’t some trait that will make living here easier. Getting random phone calls in the middle of the night and getting random knocks at your door only to find no one there, none of that is fixed by telling yourself these people just«had a hard life». Numerous drug dealers here. Don’t believe me? Go to building H and wait. If you wait long enough you’ll see people roam around the complex, looking itchy and waiting for someone. You’ll see the guys on the top floor open for strangers who knock on their door and wait. You wont see the guys on the bottom floor do the same thing anymore because they got raided. But hey maybe the«police surveillance 24⁄7 warning» note in their neighbors window will still be up by the time you read this. There’s also a regularly scheduled truck that comes by to pick up grocery carts. Clearly a great sign of quality. Oh and this nice staff? Where is that? It seems like it was a façade the day I moved here. Because now if I forget that I wanted to buy Internet with my weekly rent, I get a huge amount of attitude. I actually have to apologize because I asked for a staff member to do her job. Seriously I’m really rather polite in person which is why Im blown away and mad about this. There’s been like one person up front who was nice to me but either way. The negative definitely outweighs the little positive I’ve gotten from the women there. When first showed the apartment, the lady said that theres no crime here only the residents can be dramatic. Oh and two times a week the«gardeners» come by and use a leaf blower to blow all the trash and dirt around. Most useless job ever. Im actually convinced its some tactic to wake up and disturb the local tweekers or something. Who has gardeners two times a week at. Craphole thats 90% dirt? I just stayed here for less than three months and it was a nightmare! Im leaving this place today and literally just last night some resident here went outside nearby and shot someone.

When we rolled into Las Vegas(from Seattle) 8 months ago, we thought we’d move right into a rental or buy one of the thousands of cheap houses on the market with the money we’d be receiving from my husband’s transfer(government position) Instead, we had 4 months of white-knuckled adventure as the govt. kept him active, but did not keep him employed. No benefits, no income, no severance, no… well, you get the picture. With everything we owned in a tiny U-haul storage facility(see my review of them — they were positively amazing!), we figured at first we’d hole up in the Super 8 next door with our Golden Retriever and three cats. It was only going to be for a few days, right?(We were so naïve as to believe that, any day, the govt. would come through — ha!) After a week, we realized this wouldn’t work for us, so what does one do when faced with — quite literally — homelessness with an entire furry family? I did what anyone would do, I took my dog for a walk and talked to the hardworking illegals that hang out front of the U-haul. They have survived quite a bit, so I figured they would know what to do. And, one of them did. He said his wife and he went through the same kind of thing and found that they saved money by living in an extended stay for a few months until they got back on their feet. He pointed down the street, and there were the Suites on Flamingo. The sign nearly rivals that of Sam’s Town’s. They are pet friendly, a little off the beaten path — which is good — and have a large pool and park-like setting in the middle of the complex. With grass. My dog was thrilled. For reasons I still cannot fathom, we ended up in a single unit on the third floor. That’s 32 steps. 64, round trip. Gives you lots of time for refection after grocery shopping. We were assured that we were in the«nice» part of the complex(by the lady who checked us in and by the maintenance guy that we met on the way up.) It was relatively quiet, too. We were on the end above the laundry, so no one above us and no one on our left side — just right and back. Except for one completely deaf(we assume) neighbor who shared his TV with us(through the floor), it really was kind of quiet. The bad: There are a lot of lifers that live there. These are folks who have basically given up, and aren’t very positive about their life outlook. In fact, they are really bummers. There are lots of smokers who trash the place, few pet owners that bother to clean up after their pets, and at least one daily screaming match between baby mamas/daddies. Kids don’t have anywhere to play, so they end up in the laundry room or on your cars. Few of the parents living there have the class or wherewithal to watch their kids, so they run rampant. People will steal anything that isn’t nailed down — including your laundry baskets and/or laundry as you’re doing it. The bed was so uncomfortable that my back still hurts weeks after leaving. The furniture is old and worn. They had to replace our couch because it was so broken. They replaced it with an older, slightly less broken one, and that took them over 3 months. The most annoying thing about the room was the shower head, which some idiot installed about 5 feet up. We both kept conking our noggins on it. Don’t bother paying extra for the internet — it SUCKS! I got sick of paying $ 15/week for service that was so bad I had to go to Starbucks to upload a video. Since the company that services it isn’t interested in fixing it, you will get nowhere. We finally just upgraded our cell service for wireless hot spot, which worked fine. They do nickel and dime you to death. The amount they advertise is before the key/cleaning/pet/toenail deposits and the weekly rate is bumped up by taxes, internet(if you want it) and pet rent. Per pet. Lucky for us we only had one.(wink) The good: The staff is generally helpful and friendly(one instantly became my dog’s BESTIST friend and carried treats in her purse). They do monthly unit inspections for bugs and such, and check your AC, replace the filters, and test the smoke alarms while they’re there. If you mention a maintenance issue, they are ONIT — usually same day. The groundskeepers and maintenance crew work their tails off. If you’re in a bind, and can come up with $ 150ish a week, this is an alternative to sleeping in a tent. Better? Depends on how much you like camping. OK, it’s air conditioned when needed, and warm at night. Running water, kitchen, warm shower. Not too bad, as long as it’s not long term.

If you need relatively low buck, all inclusive temporary housing and are not familiar with Las Vegas, you might end up here. When I first moved to Las Vegas I knew nothing about the city. I needed a cheap place to stay, close to an Interstate, close to cheap casino buffets, and The Suites on Boulder Highway fit the bill. That being said, this place is a little rough. I put that sentence out there for additional emphasis. Yeah, I stayed here in 400 square feet with my family until we could do something better. But for the $ 175 a week we paid(price changes so call to verify), with cable included and internet service for a dirt cheap additional amount it worked well. The units have a small kitchen area with a fridge, stove, and microwave and a very small table. They also have a couch that folds out into a very uncomfortable bed. And the main bed is nothing special… but not uncomfortable either. And yes for $ 100 more sometimes you can get a 2 Bedroom unit! On the darker side of things parking could get interesting, Boulder Highway has some very unique characters that walk along it, and yes, I became familiar with the Las Vegas Metro gang and drug officers as they patrolled the complex. But truth be told I didn’t have any problems here. And I didn’t see any drug use or drug selling either. Management can be hot or cold and sometimes they have a serious attitude. But considering the wide range of clientele they see, it’s also understandable. Overall if hard times come your way and you need a place to go, The Suites, the ones with the huge sign out front just up from the corner of Flamingo and Boulder Highway may be what you need. Just secure your car, be prepared to use Clorox wipes and disinfect the place, keep your expectations kinda lower and you’ll be fine. One caution: This property works very closely with LVMPD. If you move in, you sign a form that gets faxed to Metro. Metro WILL run your name for warrants. If they get a hit, they will send someone out to investigate. I had no worries as with family in law enforcement I keep out of trouble so they can chase after higher aspirations. But I saw someone move in that got arrested shortly thereafter. So I know they check and do warrant sweeps here. If you have an active warrant, look elsewhere.
