Southwest Medical Associates- Dr. Brathwaite OB GYN

It’s pretty hard finding a female OB GYN here, especially near my area (the eastern one was closing down their OB GYN department). I made the appointment a month prior to my visit. I was instructed to arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment, so I could complete paperwork. My appointment was for 8:30 am. I was brought back to the room (thin walls, could hear conversations and footsteps) and saw the medical assistant. She told me that the doctor would be seeing two patients before me. The doctor saw me and addressed my issues and concerns (didn’t rush me, took the time to answer my questions, told me not to give up hope, recounted her own fertility success story– she was very nice), — the visit itself ended just before 9 am. Dr. Brathwaite gave me instructions for the next steps and told me if everything was fine, I’d get a letter (standard operating procedure). Oh and that she would see me next year (Good– ’cause I like her– I told you how hard it is to find a female OB GYN in my area, right? Can I reiterate? The last one I saw tried to get me to buy all these supplements for fertility– like it was her side job– pyramid selling– it stopped when I told her that I was seeing Dr. Shapiro and had done all the testing necessary.) I checked out with the receptionist where I made my co-​payment (insurance card was not copied). Very pleasantly surprised at how smoothly it all went. Tip: Park on the Smith’s parking lot side, because there are two Southwest Medical Associates buildings– I know, it’s confusing. The office is located on the 2^nd floor.
