One of the more interesting offerings in the Red Rock food court. Lots of interesting flavors with some seasonal specials. They also have brownies and waffle bowls along with regular cones. One flavor — Candy Bar Pie — is available here, but I’ve never seen it offered anywhere else. I highly recommend it!

B & J Hell on a Saturday night. On a whim, my party decided to stop for ice cream. The hour was 8:00’ish and everyone, save me and the GF hopped into line. The reason for our delay escapes me but it is no matter. We hesitated and we paid for it with the currency that is TIME. Several hordes flanked us and we were left in the wake of taste testing and indecision. Tick, tock, tick, tock the sands of Cherry Garcia slipped through the hour glass. I stared in frustration as I looked at everyone else licking spoons of creamy fatness. Alas, our time would come to order. I was weak with frustration but steadied by loving hand of my GF. The two… yes, two clerks were busting their asses all the while smiling. Hardened by previous Saturday night rushes, I imagine… This impressed me. The ice cream is what B & J’s is. I just can’t for the life of me figure out who the hell would staff the area behind the freezer with only two people! On a Saturday night! My time and waist line are worth more than a serving of the Americone Dream, and a hell of a lot more than Phish Food.

My friend attempted to pay for his ice cream with his debit card. He didn’t have his ID on him so he was refused service. Really. Someone who steals a man’s debit card is going to waste the card on $ 8 worth of ice cream. Never mind, we’ll go elsewhere.

TLDR: friendly service; overpriced portions; Inside casino near food court; free samples Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream is located inside the Red Rock Hotel & Casino in the food court area across from the Bingo Hall. It’s bright white lights and cow spots can attract anyone who isn’t trying to get their coffee fix at the neighboring Starbucks. I had the pleasure of being greeted in a genuine manner by the employee amidst a long line. The prices were too steep for my budget and I wasn’t dying for some ice cream. For that amount, I’d rather buy a pint at Smiths or Albertsons. I did ask for two free samples and it was absolutely delectable and consistent with the grocery store flavors I usually purchase. They do offer flavors that are not always available at your neighborhood market; but for now, I’m going to stick to my free samples and mooching off my friends’ scoops :) All-in-all: 4 stars only because of the price point.
