I’m not sure why this place has only one star. From beginning to end, my visit went very well. Barely any wait time, every one was super nice, very friendly, and efficient. The front desk girls at check-in and out were very friends with a smile on their face and very helpful. I recommend this place to anyone. I love wearing my contacts now. Thank You Mesa Eyecare!

When I called them to setup an appointment the first time, they asked me what insurance I had and I told them Davis Vision through BCBSNM and they said that they took it. When I got to my appointment they said that my insurance only covers glasses and the exam would cost me $ 75.00 plus tax due today. Did I still want to do the exam today? HA! I said, NO thanks and left. All of that said, first of all, thank you for wasting my time… However, I know insurance companies have us all over a barrel and that is the real problem here. That rant is best saved for another day and platform! Just based on their customer service, I can’t recommend this place.

Unfortunately, my wife and I were forced to go to this place due to the fact that they seem to be the only ones in Las Cruces that can fill my eyeglass Rx with our insurance. When I went there everything appeared fine and it seemed that everybody was being courteous and helpful. However, when I returned on Feb. 08th to get our eyeglasses, I was told that only my wife’s pair were in and they were waiting on mine to be returned by the lab. They also said, that my eyeglasses should be in within the next couple of days. I, of course, do not live in Las Cruces so, I called them back everyday since then. The first call back, I was told they still were not in and to call back the next day. I did that today and was told that they still had not come in. I asked them if they could please find out why it was taking so long, especially since my wife had already received hers. I was then told that they could not find out for me, however I could call my insurance since it was their lab it was coming from anyway and if I was angry I should do that. So, I called my insurance. SURPRISE… SURPRISE! The rep. from my insurance looked into everything and found out that they had been delivered on Feb. 4th, along with my wife’s pair. I asked how I could prove this to them and the rep. contacted the lab and did a conference call with her, the lab rep. and I. The lab rep. told me specifically That it was delivered on the same date that my insurance rep. said at 12:07PM to Mesa Eyecare and it was signed by a Lazarin at that moment, assuming that it was the last person’s name. I was also told that there should be no reason why they could not have called the lab themselves. I thanked both him and my insurance rep. and said I would call back after contacting Mesa Eyecare. Now at this point I was very angry with Mesa Eyecare and when I called them I was firmly told by the person in charge of inventory named Jasmine that she had 20 boxes to go through and that she had been gone a week and was just getting started on the boxes. I angrily told her that that shouldn’t be an excuse since my wife’s glasses had come in at the same time and neither of us were informed that the glasses were there. She first told me that if I didn’t stop yelling at her she would contact my insurance and refuse me services and then she said I would not have been informed because it had not been input into their inventory. OK, if that’s true then what about my wife’s pair, she wasn’t notified in anyway and her pair obviously were in the inventory because I had picked them up on the 8th. Also, why is there only one person in charge of in-taking the inventory. That means if someone is out sick, gets terminated for whatever reason, or goes on vacation the inventory doesn’t get done. If that’s true, then their process of inventory needs to be revamped and they need to cross train their people in order to fill Rx’s. The other problem is this, since I do not live in Las Cruces, I would have to take a 40 minute drive there just to pick-up a pair of glasses that could have been given to me on the 8th of Feb. In turn wasting my gas, my time, and my sanity. Not to mention the fact that due to their processes and systems it makes their customer service and their reputation disgraceful, shameful and deplorable. This is why I have given them a one star rating. To be honest I would have given them less of rating if the option was open to me.

HORRIBLE!!! I took my 4 year old son there just this morning, he was refered because he failed an eye exam at his school. We got there early and waited about 15 minutes before the assistant took us back. She was great! She was super patent with him and made him feel excited about the visit. Well things quickly went south from there! She sent us back out to the waiting area because the Dr wasn’t ready to see us, well we waited there for about 30 mins(and if I haven’t yet mentioned I also had my newborn son with us) by that point my baby was crying and hungry. The second I took him out of his carseat to feed him the Dr calls us back, so we get up and walk towards the door and the Dr stops us(me with a carseat, diaper bag and newborn in my hands and my 4yo by my side) to comment and show us a little girls hair in the waiting room and how«cute» it is! Ummm I’ve got my hands full she hasn’t even introduced herself and I don’t give a shit about that girls hair! Well she took us back and told us my son is 2020. But still suggests to dialate his eyes, I asked her if that was really necessary and she started talking about the news!!! She even took it upon herself to bring up on her computer to show me some crap about the Syrians or something! I’m like your supposed to be examining my son!!! Then she moves us to another room and has her assistant dilate my son’s eyes and to wrap it up We wait for another 45 mins or so(keep in mind I have a cranky newborn with me) and finally I’ve had it! I ask another Dr to finish the examination on my son or we are leaving! He finishes the exam just to tell us «oh he’s 2020 and doesn’t need glasses»
