Inedible garden burger. I couldn’t figure out if it was the bun or the veggie patty or both, but it was terrible.

Great beers & their chicken wings are(usually) great too. A little more consistency on the wings would be great though. It’s not a place to go for a romantic dinner, but it’s a fun place to go.

I used to go here a bunch; haven’t been lately but back then good bar experience for sure. Definitely fine place to stop for a beer if you’re headed over to Marin Headlands/Muir Woods… good location just off the freeway. I always sit out in the glorious Larkspur sunshine definitely NOT somewhere to stop at on an icky day… I’ve never sat inside but sometimes I park such that it’s easier to just walk through the bar to get to their patio; & I typically rush through-it’s very dark-their outdoor seating is lovely though. The staff is great!:)

This was some of the best service I’ve ever had. We came to taste beer and had a group of 5 – hostess told me they don’t usually do bar service on the back patio but I talked to one of the bartenders and they brought us whatever we wanted. We tasted one of each of the beers(which I highly recommend), and the wait staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Beer selection was incredible. Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly. I would go back again any time, and recommend to anyone.

The two times I’ve been here, the orders have been incorrect and the burgers not cooked sufficiently well. The service was lackluster as well. Save your $ go somewhere else.

Ordered a Chille Burger(not on menu) and got the best burger ever! Got extra jalapenos and the flight of beer! Thank you Molly!

Like others, a mixed bag: — vibe is lively and fun, what you want from a beer hall — beer is good with a lot of varieties(I am not really a beer drinker), again, what you want from a beer hall — outdoor seating is very nice, south facing so it’s sunny and relatively warm, lots of kids and dogs– family friendly — indoor seating is not really comfortable and hard to understand why — food is bad, really really bad,; frozen from a bag, reminded me of Charlie McSomething or Others across from the mall in any American city — I would think the Marin crowd would want fresh burgers and fries with some interesting non-burger dishes — service seems to be hit or miss depending on the mood of the teenager assigned to your table One suggestion to the owners — try the food at the Fremont Diner on 121 near Sonoma. Then again, why bother as the MBC seems to be making money…

I want to give this place no stars. Food is terrible. Only meal of the day and the family is sick with food poisoning.

My sister and I had lunch with my Uncle and his girlfriend at a really nice restaurant in Sausalito, and then he took us out for a beer at Marin Brewing Company. We didn’t eat food, we drank beer… and oh my gosh… it was wonderful. I enjoyed their very tasty and very hoppy Honey Badger beer. Yum. The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint was the smell of the hops. They were cleaning out the vat when we arrived and it smelled like a friggin farm house near the front of the pub. I can see how parking would be an issue when it’s busy. We went there at like 2:30 in the afternoon, and there was plenty… but the pub was nearly empty.

I don’t get why this place was jam packed. Parking is such a pain. Finally after getting our table and making it inside… we browse the drink menu and order. I wanted a sampler but opted for a HEFE instead. (Pricing was meh) The Hef was way too light. And not tasty at all. For food we ordered fries, personal pizza, & burger. Not sure how any restaurant can mess up on fries… but this one did. The food was a miss. The beer was a miss. But I can say I tried it.

I’ve been to Marin Brewing Company a few times over as many years, usually after hiking nearby mount Tam with friends. It’s not directly on the way home, but it’s been worth the small detour for several reasons: Beer — A large selection; and more than your typical brewpub — over 30 craft beers! Marin Brewing can usually be counted on to have multiple types for each style, whether it be lager, IPA, pale ale, porter, etc. And they usually have a list of specials on rotation. Something for everyone. Food — I’ve only ordered their burger and fries, but these have hit the spot every time. I always enjoy re-proving to myself that hiking, burgers and beer are my favorite weekend trifecta Setting — The bad part is it’s in a mall of sorts, with no real views. The good part is that the extensive outdoor seating in back still feels like a great hideaway. It is still a decent spot to hang out on a a sunny afternoon; we’ve always been lucky to get a spot back here. The staff and service has been somewhat mixed on our visits, but we had no terrible experiences. I’d easily go again on a nice day. I’m not sure I would be as excited if I was forced to sit indoors, but so far so good.

I rarely give negative reviews, but this establishment performed very poorly on my last visit that it deserve such declaration. First off, after being seated, it took a while for our server to acknowledge us. She was passing us back and forth; we would have appreciated it if she informed us that she’s busy and will be with us shortly. Finally she came and took our order for drinks. We noticed immediately she was bit cold and unfriendly. After serving our drinks, it took a long time before she came back and took our food order. This time I was already a bit miffed and was ready to leave but my hunger kept me planted on my seat. Because of all the waiting, I thought of timing how long our food will be served from the time we ordered. It took 17mins for our order to arrived. I ordered a small serving of chicken caesar salad and onion rings. My partner ordered cheeseburger. I must say the food was very good hence the 2 star rating. Unfortunately the service left a bitter taste on our palate. In the course of our dinner, my partner finished his soda and asked the server if he can get a refill. She said«another glass» and we said yes. Low and behold when our bill arrived, we were charged for two sodas. When we questioned the server about it she was dismissive and said they don’t do refill. Ok fine, but if we were informed we would happily asked for water instead. Aaarrggghh! No matter how good your product is, if your service sucks, that’s a big no on my book! Never again would I go back to this place. Too bad cause the food we had was very good.

We had fun here. Sat at the bar and I don’t think we had any food. The guy next to us was the president of a dog park association and had a lot of local knowledge that we enjoyed. The bartender wasn’t as friendly as we are used to in craft breweries but maybe he has some reasons. They charge for beer tastings which again I thought was odd for a brewery. We had some taste and then enjoyed a few pints based upon our neighbors suggestions. I thought the beer was good. They have a signature beer which was similar to an IPA(it may have been an IPA). I would go back if I couldn’t find a place that we hadn’t tried before.

I had always heard good things about Marin Brewing but never got the chance to go until now! I liked how they had so many different kinds of beer! They had a couple IPA’s, which are my fav, and a blueberry beer and some really good porters! I ordered a small pizza and a side salad. They were both awesome! The salad was super fresh and it was a decent size too! The meat pizza we ordered had a ton of toppings and we ate up every piece! I will be back to Marin Brewing Company!

Beer was pretty good. Lots of tasty brews and their IPAs were my favorite. Had a cask IPA too which is fun. Got a sample of the 7 beers they had on tap. Was a bit clunky of a transaction. When I asked if they had a sampler plater, the bartender didn’t really get what I was asking for, but eventually got the idea I wanted a sample of all the beers. They also don’t have a board or anything for transporting the samples, so had to ask for a platter so I could take them outside. Just some tips in case you want to do the same. Came out to $ 14 + tip so reasonable there. Sat on the patio facing the promenade. We cleared our own table, and it was about 30 mins before someone came by to grab the empties sitting on the bench.

As someone born and raised in Marin I have to say I really enjoy this place. But honestly I have never had the food. I normally stop by after work for a beer and then buy a few bottles to go to take home. All of the beers are really delicious but my favorite is the Mt Tam Pale Ale. There’s some really good seasonal beers as well. Definitely would recommend as a good hang out spot as well. Atmosphere is awesome and there’s a really nice outdoor seating area.

Recommendation: Come here for the beer. Not the food. Judge the beer. Not the food. The food is an afterthought, just in case you need something next to your beer. Think this way, and you’ll be happy. Marin Brewery is a quirky, local place that I’m told has been around forever. They are really creative with their beers. Some of my favorites: Es Chi Tonic Herbal Ale brewed with Chinese herbs and Orange & Black Congrats ale which is a black ale that has orange zest in it. I also really like the Tiburon Blonde which is pretty light and refreshing. I’m still working on the whole IPA thing which just tastes like a bunch of flowers in my mouth, but the White Knuckle IPA was not bad at all. I love going and getting the flight. You can try all beers, or create whatever sort of flight you want since they’ll put whatever beer you want in a shot. It has a pretty good happy hour office crowd. If you’re into that there are some interesting characters to meet and chat with after work on a Friday.

Thank you MBC and Brendan Moylan for always getting it right. We are regulars at Moylan’s but because we were closer by to the brewing Company today after a hike, we decided to go there for our lunch/dinner. Brendan never disappoints! The food was fresh the service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. We each had chicken tortilla soup and then my boyfriend had the Cobb salad and I had a plain turkey sandwich that for some reason, they made out to be fantastic. I’ll tell you what: if everyone ran their business the way Brendan does, we’d have tons of great restaurants in Marin. I know this is just a brewery but it’s more than that to us. It’s a place where we always know we’re going to get a great meal, great service, and fresh food. And we’re also always going to get treated like we are wanted. Kudos Brendan and the gang!

First time here on a Saturday around 1:30 p.m. It was pretty crowded when I arrived but I was still able to find a seat at the bar. I was hungry when I arrived, so ordered the Jalapeño Pepper Poppers that came with a side of ranch. They were scalding hot and I found that out too late and burnt my hand pretty bad. I wish the guy who dropped them off had said something… The female beertender helping me only said something after she saw me wince in pain. She said to cut them in half to let them cool off first and after I did that they tasted good. Ouch. :( This is what I thought of the beer which came in 4oz taster glasses: Liked: 1. Stinson Beach Peach 2. Blueberry Wheat Ale 3. Hefe Weiss 4. Tiburon Blonde 5. Green and Gold Pale Ale 6. India Pale Ale Didn’t Care For: 1. Crazy Uncle Grant’s Wild Rice Beer Didn’t Try: 1. Orange & Black Congrats 2. San Quentin’s Breakfast Stout I’ve definitely realized that I’m a wheat ale fan especially when it’s flavored with fresh fruit. As far as atmosphere, it’s a fun and lively place that attracts a variety of people who like beer. I had prompt service at the bar and had a good time hanging out here. Also had very interesting conversation with the people sitting next to me at the bar. I’ll definitely be back and recommend this place to others.
