The food was overpriced, the portions were small and the drinks were watered down. My only enjoyment at this place came from the performances by the bands. It is no surprised that the place has shut down now(as of 10÷8÷12). No more Stonefish Grill in Largo. Not a big loss.

Please don’t eat here! The food was expensive and had no flavor. The service was also sub-par but that didn’t bother us as much as the fact that the food was awful! I ordered stuffed shrimp($ 26), the plate had 4 shrimp and they were over-cooked and flavorless. We will never come back.

Wow! Where in the world do I begin. This restaurant is located in a strip mall. It was nice on the outside and then we opened the door. At first I thought they were closed because when I tried the left part of the door it was locked, so I looked at the neon light which read opened and then tried the right door. Aha success … the door was unlocked. As we entered we noticed we were the only patrons. That should have been a sign, however my friend and I dared to venture in. Upon entry directly in front of us was a wooden saloon type bar, then I looked to my right and noticed wooden tables and semi circular booth seating. What made me scratch my head was the tables had white linen table cloths on them. I guess that made this joint an upscale saloon. We were greeted by a very nice server(It was her second day). She asked where we wanted to sit. I love booth seating so I pointed to a booth and we were seated. As we settled into our booth we noticed an old smell … like this place had not been aired out for a couple of years. Still we were not deterred. We proceeded to order Diet Coke just like we have done in the past at hundreds of other establishments. At first sip we both looked at one another and something just was not right. The soda tasted old. That was sign number two. Then we cracked the menu and saw prices that did not match the décor. I guess that is where the wooden tables dressed with white table cloths came into play. Our spidey senses started tingling, so we left the server a tip and departed before we were disappointed any further. I would have given this joint one star just for still being in business during these trying times. The waitress was so nice she elevated this review to three stars.

Went here today for an impromptu lunch with a friend. Greeted by our awesome and humorous dining guide Robert! I started off with a strawberry lemonade(yum!!) and a pomegranate martini which was a little strong for my tastes. Robert took it back to the bar and the bartender expertly tweaked my drink choice – delicious! I ordered a chicken quesadilla to start and Robert suggested skillet cornbread. Which is basically the best cornbread I’ve had at a restaurant in a while cooked up in an old school wrought iron skillet and slathered with a nice pat of creamy butter. I opted for the stuffed salmon after conferring with our host and was not disappointed! The salmon was fresh and hot and stuffed with baby shrimp, crab meat and Brie cheese. Wondrous. The one down side was the obnoxious conversations of some of the patrons was kind of echoing through the restaurant. Weird acoustics or too much open spacing? Not sure but overall good food and Excellent service! Maryland has some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced in all my life and travels and I’m a former army brat, current gypsy lol. So it was so refreshing to have someone be as on point and clairvoyant and engaged with his customers as our waiter was. Ask for Robert! This review is actually from August 2011, had it saved in the Unilocal App :) hope it helps

So… after waiting for my «much promoted» turkey burger and fries($ 8) for what seemed to be an unreasonable amount of time(there were 8 people at best in the place), my sense of smell indicated something was wrong when they put the plate in front of me. My lunch date sensed that I knew something was wrong. I couldn’t pinpoint the source of the problem; that is, until we took the first bite of the rancid assburger. We spit the food out and immediately notified the manager. After he apologized, he recommended we try the chicken tenders. So we did. While waiting for the chicken fingers to arrive, the manager came to our table and acknowledged that the meat was«turning» and that he threw out the entire batch. A short while later, the server came to our table and said that he actually tasted a small piece of the burger we had sent back and acknowledged that it was indeed rancid. Really… Do tell. Almost an hour had passed and we had no food. By now we were impatient with the restaurant and its staff and had already told the server we were in a hurry and wanted the chicken tenders to-go. When the server finally came with the«chicken tenders» and the bill, we noticed that THEBILLWAS $ 30!!! That’s when I blew my lid… $ 30 for chicken tenders??? I can buy 6 cooked rotisserie chickens at that price!!! Are these people on drugs? The manager said he could take 20 percent off the bill and I said ABSOLUTELYNOT and we walked out. We left the place angry and disgusted. I would gladly spend my money, whatever amount, in a good establishment with good service, but this was not that place. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Have you ever heard the song, «It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday»? That’s how I feel about this place. It held a special place in my heart because it’s the first restaurant my husband and I visited as a couple after we got married in 2005. We would go from time to time and the seafood was great. Service was never fantastic but we overlooked that because we just liked the place. It had been at least 2 years since we had gone. A few weeks ago we met another couple there and I was shocked at how it has gone downhill. The crab cake is now just a mere filler. Tastes horrible. I cannot recall anything else that I had. It was like eating cardboard. What saved the evening was the conversation with hubby and friends whom we had not seen in a while. I have great memories of Stonefish Grill and I would like to hold on to those memories because I’ll never go back.

I went to Stonefish Grill with my husband on Friday evening & was very disappointed in their lack of culinary skills. First, let me give you the good… my waitress was nice, our food came out fast, & my calamari was really good & I will recommend that, but the compliments end there. The bad: I ordered a simple fish & chips entrée & my husband ordered the crab cakes… ughhh No…& No again! When I looked at my husband’s food honestly it looked like his greenbeans came out of a can & the perfect little scoop of mashed potatoes looked the same as well. I tasted one of his crab cakes & it was very bland. When i first looked at my fish & chips I could tell something was not right about it… they were gigantic fish sticks! They were not beer battered which is the normal expectation, they were thin, & extra oily. Honestly it ruined our little date night & I will never go back! In my opinion this place has the worst food & is trying to pass itself off as a restaurant. I highly recommend you go to Long John’s Silver instead of here.

*NOTE: This review is based off of a private event I attended.* Well for starters the food was pretty good. WE had buffalo wings, fried calamari and catfish tenders for appetizers. The wings and catfish were standard. I actually enjoyed the calamari, it had a good balance of flavor and came with this great guacamole type sauce on the side. We had a choice of Blackened chicken, shrimp fettuccine or Cajun Pork Chops for our entrée. I got the later of the three. The pork chop was kind of dry but seasoned well(not over or under) and the garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were delish! Our server was kind of nice but when we asked her what kind of wine they had she struggled with remembering. Also I’m pretty sure my mother ordered red and she gave us both white wine. Oh and every other table had water except for ours and I didn’t get any until the end of the night, that really irritated me. Overall it was better than I thought it was going to be. I wouldn’t see myself going out of my way to dine here. The Japanese restaurant Kobe is right across the street and MUCH better. Actually going to the BLVD makes me sad because at one time it was a great shopping center with potential to be nice. In the past few years the quality has dropped drastically, with numerous restaurants/stores coming and going. If I was

Food is average at best and service is bad. In other words, another DC area restaurant. Staff tends to be on the rude and disinterested side. Food takes forever to come out and sometimes orders are either wrong or incomplete. What’s really sad though is that it’s another underperforming restaurant at the The Boulevard at the Capital Centre, which was once a booming and vibrant shopping area. Now the Boulevard, like this restaurant, has been on the decline. Prices are inflated. Also, is it just me or is the environment kinda weird? It’s like the restaurant has an identity crisis. They want to present as elegant and upscale and have some dress code requirements. Yet they blast music from their speakers, especially in the outdoor seating area. Advice– Kobe’s is literally a few steps away from this place and while it’s not a seafood place per se, you can have wonderfully cooked seafood items like lobster, salmon, shrimp and scallops prepared with the rest of your meal.

This place was not what I expected! The service was OK although I thought our waitress could’ve been more attentive nonetheless the food was hot and quite tasty! We went there on a Friday night and there was a live band so if you are looking for something intimate and quiet, Friday after 9pm would not be a good idea. Overall I give this place 3 stars!

Food is way overpriced. $ 5 for a small scoop of ice cream, $ 4 for a small baked potato/loaded.the chicken wasn’t done all the way and the mozeralla sticks you can tell were frozen and they could have melted the cheese on to better. The catrish was excellent though! that i will give them. They charged me $ 8 more on my bill i found out a few days later. The y did have music and Dj when we went. it def is not a spot for food but maybe music…

This place was entirely too expensive for the crap they call food. I ordered the Fisherman’s platter and there were three pieces each of scallops and shrimp and maybe 9 – 10 very small pieces of clam strips. The the entire plate was covered with fries which were okay but am i paying $ 25 for fries? My husband ordered the Chicken Piccata. While this dish offered a rather large portion the the dish was almost disgusting. The red sauce was watery and and the pasta was overcooked. The chicken strips in the piccata was okay but was also a bit undercooked. The service was slow but polite. Overall I would never recommend this place to any one. I would advise to stay away.

Service is everything to me. STONEFISH lacks it. The food is marginal at best. The décor is drab and appeared unfinished. The bathroom was disgusting. I probably won’t be going back until new management takes over. This was a really nice venue 2 years ago. WTF?

there is something about this place that feels… unfinished? sparse? i’m not sure i can put my finger on it, but the few times i’ve been, i always feel like their decorator quit ¾ of the way through the job or their supplier ran out of tables/chairs/light fixtures/etc. it’s just got an odd feel to it… echo-y and too open, like eating dinner in a warehouse. definitely not the place to go for an intimate dinner. but, odd vibe aside, the food is pretty good. not mind-blowingly-good, but tasty even to me(and i’m not big on seafood). i did love the potatoes though. the bar is well-stocked and drinks are strong, smooth, and/or sweet as applicable. they definitely get points for that. no snazzy signature cocktails as far as i know, but they get the staples right. the servers are okay — some hum drum and some perky. no one outstanding, but no one rude or incompetent either. glasses are refilled pretty consistently/promptly, and the check doesn’t take that long to come. the only real problem i have with this place is the location — the capital center boulevard. no, NO. i loathe to go to that place and ONLY find myself there as a last resort for some purchase i can’t find anywhere else(almost never) or if it’s a dining companion’s turn to pick and their retaurant of choise is there(once in a blue moon and it’d better be a VERY good friend for me to concede). otherwise, no, no, NO. i might give stonefish a few more tries if it moves. but as for now, i’m with the #1 business rule: location, location, location. so i probably won’t frequent SG much, if at all in the future.

Some of the worse fish I have ever had close to the District of Columbia. I expected better especially after giving this place a try 3 times. All results were the same. Lackluster indeed. I wouldn’t make this a choice in terms of dining.

Not really my type of place, the drinks were pretty good which was actually all that i had. Me and my boyfriend and a couple friends just so happen to stop by to waste time before going to the movies at Majic Johnson… another mistake. There was a live band, that i didnt like and just too much noise, and it was Valentines Day but the music didnt add to a lovely mood. Overall i didnt eat the food but my friend’s fish wasnt fully cooked, the drinks were good but thats about it. I dont think i’ll ever be going back.

I’ve visited this spot on several occassions and haven’t been impressed yet. This isn’t a place I’d say«oh…let’s go to Stonefish Grill» because it simply did nothing for me. The best thing about it to me were the drinks as the bartender at the time was on point. So that’s all I have to say about this one… nothing to write home about or gather a group of friends to hang out… its just not that spot for me and my crew.

My sister selected this place for her birthday dinner last night. Ick! The entrée that I had was horrible — fisherman’s platter. I didnt know that fishermen fished for french fries! That was what my meal mainly consisted of. I had 2 shrimp, 2 scallops 2 pieces of tiny cod and I had to search for my clams in the pile of fries. I would have been happier at Reb Lobster. My husband had pork chops and he sent those back because they were over cooked. He ended up asking the server to just bag the new meal. A friend had the shrimp platter only to find 6 shrimp on top of a bed of fries. My sister had the seafood cobb salad and was not too happy with it. Although, I am complaining about my main course — I must say that the various appetizers that we ordered were ok. I think folks generally go here for drinks and appetizers. There was a live band too!
