Coming soon. New owners and new décor. They’re keeping the favorites and told us it will be authentic Vietnamese. But they are taking the Cajun items off the menu. Should be open by Nov 1

Pretty good, my boyfriend was a bigger fan than I. But since LaPlace doesn’t have very many options in the Phở department looks like I’ll be going back.

was in New Orleans for the Fourth and was wanting to try some authentic Cajun food. I had already tried the deep fried foods over at other spots so gumbo was on my sights and boy did this place deliver. Each spoonful was as hearty as the last, they definitely didn’t skimp out on the amount of sausage and various meats. These little mouth orgasms kept going til the last bite. definitely recommend this place to anyone at least looking for delicious gumbo.

My husband and I were visiting Louisiana last weekend and I came across this place looking through Unilocal and it definitely is worth the hype. The variety of cajun/creole & vietnamese food is amazing! First off I have to gives props to the owner Tommy, he and his girlfriend(if i’m not mistaken I think her name was Sherry) are the most genuine people, their customer service was awesome. They talk to you like they’ve known you forever, it’s a very homey atmosphere. Secondly, the quality of food is pretty great. We ordered a pound of crawfish and some charbroiled pork vermicelli. It came out pretty fast and it was the only vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to that gives you the whole container of vietnamese vinaigrette, I really appreciated that cause I’m always asking for more. I wish we had more time out there I feel like I would become a regular. If there were more than 5 stars I would give it to them for their best service, atmosphere, hospitality, and food of course.

Had such a good meal here! The Vietnamese shrimp po boy was excellent. Bun noodle dishes were plentiful and fresh. Phở was huge and very good. Nice to have a break from fried food.

This is a hole in the wall place with great food and reasonable prices. The owner was born in Vietnam and is the nicest, friendliest person you would ever want to meet. Some places, staff talk to you because they think it is expected. This guy is sincerely friendly and worth conversing with. Don’t miss this place if you are in the area.

If only I could give this place a six star! What makes them stand out is their outstanding service. We were all picky eaters and they customized our orders. I ordered the seafood platter and it was HUGE. The lady that works there rolled up my sleeve for me because she didn’t want it to get dirty. It was such a pleasant meal, the owner even offered us free beers. When we were leaving my friend expressed how much she loves fortune cookies and he stuffed her bag with them! Loved their hospitality! Will definitely come back again next time we visit nola!

He even helped me bring my take out to my car bc I have a cast on my arm. So nice! Update: had phở ga tonight. Very good!

I did find it odd that they served Creole and Vietnamese food out of the same joint. I have never seen seafood based Phở before. Oh well, I was back in Louisiana and had to try this place out. I got a hot sausage Po Boy and corn. The corn was on point with Creole spices and cooked to perfection. The Po Boy however was a bit, how shall I phrase this… skimpy. It tasted ok. It just didn’t have a nice serving of meat. More like shoe soles that tasted like spicy sausage. Meh.

Discovered on Unilocal while looking for a place for lunch. This place had the highest reviews based on where we were. I had the grilled shrimp po-boy. Was very, very WET. That must be the style. I remember the french bread as being very tasty. It DIDNOT give me a stomach ache(ref ) later so that is a good sign. But was simply«ok» overall.

I had large bowl of gumbo. It was excellent. Chicken, sausage, shrimp, okra. It was a large bowl and plenty good! Your new customer from Katy Texas. Hope the football game in Green Bay came out to your liking!

Out of the way, but hidden with good food. I tried the Vietnamese Po’boy and a crawfish pie. Both were excellent. The service was quick and the food — with all its flavor — was done well. I’ll be back to try something else!

Well I ended up in LaPlace and decided I wanted Vietnamese food my first night. I ended up returning to this restaurant every evening that week. I tried several things on the menu, but my favorite was the bun. The menu had plenty of non-Vietnamese items for the uninitiated, so no worrires there.

This is round two of a Vietnamese restaurant that was in the same space. The original restaurant was good… this attempt is better. Service is remarkably friendly with a very foodie-friendly small town approach — treat people well and serve large portions of good food for a very modest price. Absolutely no complaints. Everything was authentic and well-flavored. Ingredients are noticeably fresh and there really isn’t anything on the menu that isn’t good(provided you enjoy ethnic delights). And if you’re not, feel free to gorge on the ample Cajun menu that is provided as well! If you like the local culture, there is no shortage of it here. LSU and Saints décor predominates!

The name Cajun Persuasion evokes thoughts of traditional gumbo, jambalaya, fish, étouffée, shrimp stews, etc. You won’t find that here. What you will find is a variety of Po-Boys, meat pies, and fried side items. According to the people that I heard comment while I was in there, their take on that food is great. However, that is not the star of this show. The real star at Cajun Persuasion is the Vietnamese food. It is outstanding. I say«outstanding» with great conviction. When we walked in, I noticed how small the place was and how odd the décor was. It evokes«dive». It is a quirky mash up of LSU, Saints, and the traditional glittery scenery prints that are present in most Asian themed restaurants. The table cloths are garish. I almost walked out. But then, I smelled it. Something delicious wafted out of the kitchen when the server opened the door. I planted myself in the booth, and cracked the menu. We settled on a rice dish, some Vietnamese eggrolls, and a soup. Everything was just divine. I would easily give the flavor of the food five stars. The presentation is simple but pleasant. The server was very nice and encouraged us to try all the various sauces on the table in addition to the ones that she brought out. She mentioned that the sauces(and food) are all made in house. It shows. They are just plain delicious. I wasn’t a big fan of the server wearing a uniform from the nail place next door, and the tea was not good. There were still price labels from Walmart on the bottom of my glass which meant it had obviously not been washed very well.(They are the exact glasses I have at home) There was quite a bit of staff traffic running between the restaurant and the nail place. I found this somewhat disturbing, as I wondered what they were doing and where they were going. Over all, I would like to award 5 for food and 3 for atmosphere and 3.5 for service. I will be back and I hope they are able to assign dedicated staff to the restaurant to create a more cohesive dining experience.

Not many choices in La Place, but we are glad we came across this place. Although we were alone in the restaurant for a few minutes, with no staff anywhere, the service and food were good. We had both Cajun and Vietnamese menu items and everything measured up to the quality you would expect from Vietnamese natives living in Cajun country.

My wife and I stopped for lunch and we’re pleasantly surprised. I had the Vermicelli with grilled chicken, and she had the Phở with meatballs. Both dishes had very fresh ingredients and we’re really tasty. The service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable.

This place definitely livens up Laplace’s meager food scene. It serves both cajun food and Vietnamese food. We went within a week of their grand opening and needless to say, the interior was spotless. The food was also great. My friends had the buffalo wings that were seasoned to the bone. I had a chicken tender poboy. I love the fact that this place serves Vietnamese food. Also, they have bubble tea! :) No longer do I have to drive out to kenner or the westbank to satisfy my cravings. The owners are extremely sweet. They stayed an hour past their regular closing time without complaint. They even held a conversation and joked around with us. I hope this place stays in business for a long time.
