R-Club

Typical bar food, the couple times I’ve gone it’s been pretty empty and we’ve been seated in the bar which is dark and leaves much to be desired. Older crowd average food, service was so so and food was just nothing I’d specifically go back for. I won’t be going back again.

Every time we come here we order something different. And every time we’re pleasantly surprised. Some restaurants specialize in a particular dish. R-​club specializes in good food.

Went there for dinner on a Thursday night. There were eight other people in the entire restaurant at that time. We were ready to order for over 20 minutes before deciding to just pay for our drinks and leave. Terrible service from the bartender.

I’ve always enjoyed R-​Club before — relatively ‘standard’ 70s-​style restaurant as far as menu and setup, but a couple of items I really enjoyed.
However, my daughter and I ate here for dinner this week and the experience was underwhelming. I had the fish — which was quite good and why we’d chosen R-​Club in the first place. Due to my daughter’s schedule we ate dinner early and it went downhill from there.
The dinner side was not open, so we had to be seated in the bar. That side was also mostly empty, with a table or two and a small group at the bar. The group at the bar was insanely loud and obnoxious, which was a bit off putting when you’re there for dinner, but it is a bar, so that’s life.
However, once another group came in to order food, I realized that entire group save one person was actually employees. The food is definitely on the upside of mediocre, so on balance the experience will not inspire me to return.

Good food, good service, friendly staff.

Horrible service! Our table waited over an hour for our meals. Then all food including salad was delivered a at once. Wrong soup. Wrong drinks were delivered
No recheck from staff if everything was ok. Another 30 min wait for checks… never again…

Came just at the end if happy hour. The bartender that was working seemed preoccupied. I ordered from the special board what was on the rotating handing for the month. The bartender didn’t tell me they didn’t have it up on yet and just brought me a bottle and walked away. I waiting for around 5 minutes for a waitress to walk by so I could ask for a glass.
When I ordered my food, I asked what came on the happy hour chicken quesadilla. The bartender responded chicken and cheese. I also asked what kind of sauces they have for their chicken wings and he reply ‘the normal kind.‘
The food came out quickly but not as he told he it would. The quesadilla had peppers and onions. Kind if got snippy when I said that’s not what he told me was on it.
All in all, not horrible. But definitely won’t be eating here again.

Food type: sandwiches, burgers, salads, bar appetizers, diner specials; all competently prepared standards. No surprises here. Service: Good. Prices: Average. Portion sizes: average-​to-​generous.
I haven’t tried the «bar side» but the restaurant side is pleasant, without much character. It feels like a dining room in somebody’s house, just scaled up enough for a bunch of tables. Nothing distinctive, but it’s a nice enough space.
I’ve been here several times for both lunch and dinner (seems to be a popular spot for business lunches on the west side), and the food really is very tasty.
The R-​Club has given me absolutely nothing to complain about, so I feel a little guilty only giving it a 3 star review, but I honestly can’t think of any single thing here to get enthusiastic about either. A good place to go when nobody can agree on more polarizing options.
Make a mental note, though — free meal on your birthday!

Typical American diner-​type restaurant. I sat on the bar side for lunch and experienced great, friendly service and a comfortable, clean setting. My caesar salad without chicken was almost 9 dollars though… come on. I didn’t expect there to be many vegetarian options so no big deal but definitely take note if that’s what you’re looking for. I think the salad dressing is homemade… the caesar is more like italian and is not creamy. Seems like it would be a nice place to grab drinks. I just won’t be going out of my way again to visit. I know my meat-​eater friends enjoy the food but also think it’s sub-​par.

Weds is half off bottles of wine! Yes this is my preferred after work spot and sometimes lunch. I’m usually scared to run into the lunch crowd but they are quick. Now don’t come here looking for more than american cuisine but expect to be satiated.
I have not been dissatisfied yet. I’ve had the black bean burger, turkey burger, ham and cheese melt, turkey melt, grilled cheese, hummus, buffalo wings, greek salad, chicken pot pie and all are better than average. The prices are $ 1 – 2 more than you’d pay anywhere else for a sandwich or wings but its worth it.
The staff is great, attentive and fast. I never regret my tips. The bartenders know their stuff. There are usually great lunch and happy hour specials to keep your pockets lined. The crowd varies and I like that.

Not too bad. More or less bar food. Te gyro salad was good tho lacking in meat as it was in my friend’s gyro. Lots of drink options and there seemed to be all sorts of special pricing on certain drinks and foo items. A peasant surprise across from the hotel.

We go there fairly often. It’s always jam-​packed when we go, which I guess is a good sign. The food is yummy (love their chicken gyros, sweet potato fries, and fish & chips). Their portions are huge and we never leave feeling hungry. Service is always pretty fast. The prices are pretty good. The only thing I don’t like is that it can get noisy due to the large gatherings they have.

We tried R-​club with a Groupon, and it was a great experience! First, the restaurant is split into two sides– one a more quiet, nice dining room, and the other was more laid back and included a bar/​stage. We sat on the bar side, and I really liked the warm atmosphere. We started with sweet potato fries, and they were amazing. They were extremely crispy and not greasy (surprisingly) at all! Definitely the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had.
I ordered the fish sandwich with a side of clam chowder. Both were wonderful-​fish was well fried (yes.I like fried foods…) and served with a delicious tarter sauce; the chowder was well seasoned and hearty. My bf ordered the gyro with cole slaw because our waitress highly recommended it. He said the gyro was greatl-​full of vegetables and feta cheese. The bill for all of this food was $ 21! After the groupon went through, the bill was $ 1! Anyways, I would have gladly paid full price for all of the food we had, and the groupon was just a bonus. We will definitely be back. The service was also phenomenal.

Good food and friendly service. Nice little patio area. If you have room for dessert, try the homemade carrot cake.

We have enjoyed the R Club for many years. It is truly a «hometown» atmosphere. The service is always friendly and the food always satisfying. We have recommended the R Club to many friends.

I go here about once a week for lunch. They have fast and friendly service. The food is always hot and fresh. I would say the prices are reasonable. This is a popular happy hour spot, although I haven’t been there for happy hour yet.
