The rooms are clean and the free breakfast is great. My frustration with the slower-than-dial-up(if it works at all) Internet service is exacerbated by the staff’s inability to do anything about it. They acknowledge that it is bad, but do not seem to care very much. «Well, it’s probably because too many people are trying to use it.» is not an acceptable explanation.

Stayed one night at this hotel and it was very comfortable, clean, conveniently located near expressways, shopping & restaurants. The bed was comfortable, room near elevator but it was quiet, staff very nice. Previous reviewer mentioned it being worn but my room and the areas I saw appeared to be recently updated(well maybe not the wallpaper border…) with newer carpet, bedding, etc. Good option for Lansing & I recommend it.

I agree with some of the reviewers who spoke about the staff being less helpful. It is an older hotel that does need a remodel. However, overall I found my stay to be comfortable enough. Honestly, I probably would have given them a higher review except that I just stayed the night before at a brand new Country Inn in Minneapolis so it suffered by comparison.

I stayed here for business last week for one night. The checkin staff weren’t very friendly but the room was clean. There were plenty of clean towels in the room and an assortment of toiletries. It was spacious too. The pool area and workout room were decent. There was a breakfast in the lobby but nothing looked too appealing. I should mention that the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. It was sunken in on one side.

Noisy. We’ve stayed here several times, and this time was surprisingly unpleasant. The hotel was very full, understaffed, and not a manager in sight. A loud family group had kids running and yelling in the halls, banging doors, and making noise at the pool way past the midnight closing time for the pool. The staff were unwilling /unable to address the problem and promised discount and voucher for free stay never materialized. I visit Lansing a few times a year and will be finding a new place to stay.

Because of allergies, I had requested hypoallergenic pillows. And, they were provided. But a feather-filled duvet was covered only by a blanket, and my wife and I suffered allergic reactions anyway. And, while the whirlpool spa was hot and relaxing, the indoor pool/spa area smelled of eye– and throat-irritating chlorine. Otherwise, our stay here was pleasant, and we enjoyed a fairly good included breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and fried potatoes.

This hotel and its corporate staff went out of their way to make up for an unpleasant experience. Thank you, one and all for your decency, courtesy, and good will. Namaste.

Wow, talk about a sucker punch from . I was working West of Lansing, Michigan, but the town I was working near only had a something akin to the Bates Motel. No thank you to that, so the next best thing was to find something in West Lansing… I didn’t have a lot of choices, even so, I chose wrong. Hotwire claimed it would be a nationally known chain, like Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn, etc. I reserved a king bed, non smoking. got my email confirmation, telling me to come to this dump. I walked in, told the girl I had a reservation, she said smoking, 2 queen beds. Um, no, king, nonsmoking. We’re out of those, she said. Well what the hell is the point of making a reservation, then? She did very kindly offer a larger suite, non smoking, king bed, for another $ 70. Am I being punk’d here? This has got to be a joke. I call Hotwire, but they do nothing, and refuse to give me a refund. I was in a hurry to get on a conference call, so I begrudgingly took the room. I swear they decorated this place with clearance items from Walmart, the stuff even tacky rednecks think is ugly. I asked for air freshener, which they had none, so they offered to ozone the room, but I can’t be in it for 30 minutes. I came back and the carpet was damp, but it still smelled like smoke. Great, not just smoke, but now WET smoke. Smokers, you smell disgusting. You need to know that. Fabreeze and altoids can only do so much. Last, but equally as annoying… this is a suite, with fridge, kitchen stuff, etc. So, in my rish, I throw something into the microwave, which doesn’t have the rotating plate it came with. Arrggg! Fine, whatever, I use it, anyway. So, when my food is done, I open the drawer to get a spoon. Nada. NOTHING. Not only do these people not know how to take and keep reservations, can’t decorate a room to save their lives… now, they eat with their hands? Hotwire isn’t always a bargain, that’s abundantly clear to me now.
