Delicious savory crepes! Perfect light batter, great cheese, and incredible ham. Very nice people and great location.

A very welcome addition to the slim pickings for breakfast restaurants in Lansing. The Parisian ambience is nice, but cheapened by the plastic utensils and plates — perhaps reserve that for take out orders. They have a nice combo that you can order Savory /sweet and a coffee or fountain drink for $ 10 — we got the Cordon Bleu and the jambon for our Savory course, and the fraise and a special with strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, and Nutella. We’re both delicious. The Cordon Bleu was a little heavy on the Dijon, and the spinach and mushrooms in the jambon were raw — a light sautee would have added to the flavor. Zingerman’s coffee was delicious. Overall a good meal.

First time eating at the location but nothing has really changed. Same amazing crepes with special flavors for the day. I decided to do the sweet and savory combo this time and my sister did the same. She got the butter brown sugar crêpe and the breakfast crêpe that contains ham or sausage cheese and eggs. For this being her first time she feel in love with this place and did not mind walking out of their feeling over stuffed. I decided to try something new and got the apple brie and caramel crêpe and got the special cordon Bleu that was featured, both with gluten free batter. I was in heaven while eating the cordon Bleu crêpe and was sad that I was so full to not be able to finish it. The apple crêpe was alright but learned that I am not a fan of brie cheese paired with sweet toppings. Would prefer to have it in a savory crêpe instead. Wish I had gotten the strawberry, Banana, Nutella, and peanut butter one but learned for future orders. Love that this place has its own secluded location now instead of in the market and is very quaint and relaxing to just sit down and enjoy the crepes. Only thing I wish would have been better would be the service of making the crepes. I did wait for awhile to get mine but practice makes perfect is all I have to say!

I totally agree with the review by L S. from Chicago. For Crêpe Sake is absolutely wonderful. Their food is delish and the staff is very friendly. They are very particular in making your crêpe if you have a gluten intolerance as I do. I asked for a buckwheat crêpe and they inquired if I was gluten intolerant and I said yes. They said they would make it on a separate crêpe maker to make sure no gluten would be in it. They will also accommodate many other food allergies and sensitivities. All their soups are gluten free. The first visit will be a little confusing because they have a unique way of taking your order. The menu lists the savory crepes on the left, sweet crepes in the middle and salad selections on the right. Circle the crêpe you want and then choose one of the four choices of batter.(regular, gluten free rice, buckwheat and vegan) Sweet crepes are the middle section. Note the savory/sweet combo meal for $ 10. Salad selections are on the right. Choose two out of the three greens, then choose the meat, cheese, veggies, fruit, crunch, nuts, seeds and salad dressing. The raspberry vinaigrette dressing is very good and not too sweet. It’s a large and very nicely made salad and if you choose all 18 free items, it’s only $ 5.99. I usually add feta which brings it to nearly $ 6.98. Reduced prices for coffee at certain times. Be sure to start a punch card for crepes and coffee!

Best crepes in the city, possibly the universe. I don’t want to go to France because now it will be disappointing. Friendly, helpful staff.

As far as crepieres go, it’s not bad. I had the Hunchback of Notre Dame — turkey, avocado, bacon, Swiss cheese, spinach, and red pesto. It was a huge crêpe, but luckily I was pretty hungry. S had the special — a crêpe with salmon, asparagus, capers and feta cheese(as a replacement for the Hollandaise that was supposed to go on it.) Without the sauce, it ended up being rather dry. And it could have used a bit more acid like a spritz of lemon juice to round out the flavors. E had the breakfast crêpe — eggs, bacon, and cheese. Getting breakfast for dinner is always a win for an eight year old, so he was satisfied. S and I shared the green salad which was a nice mix of fresh greens, spinach and kale with an assortment of other veggies that they let us choose on an overly complicated order sheet. We also enjoyed their complimentary infused water. One was a cucumber and mint, the other a citrus option. Here’s the thing though, this place could be so much better with just a few improvements. Going an extra mile could make this place a much needed classy brunch spot in Lansing… things like tablecloths and real napkins and non-plastic flatware and plates. Getting a liquor license for champaign mimosas or bloody Mary’s would really be great. Right now it’s just a crêpe stand that’s gotten a store front, not much better than a fast food joint that serves crepes and coffee instead of subs and soda.

I am honestly shocked by the negative reviews. I’ve been a huge fan of For Crêpe Sake since they had a stand in the City Market, and was delighted to see they had opened a permanent location. I’ve never had a single complaint in the 5 – 10 total visits I’ve made(old and new locations). Keep in mind this location is BRANDNEW, so common sense *should* tell you that patience may be necessary while they’re working out the kinks! For Crêpe Sake serves the best crêpes in Lansing(I might even go so far as to say the best crêpes I’ve eaten in my life). I would highly recommend the Hunchback of Notre Dame – it has turkey, bacon, avocado, spinach, and Swiss(was told it’s their most popular offering and I can attest as to why). Do not let the other reviews deter you from visiting!

We were searching for crepes and googled this place. First impression was that it was small and stylish. We were early so there was only one other table in the place that had customers. You order at the register and then sit at a table but that was not evident until we were told. Ordering was confusing in that if you had a salad, you had to specify what you wanted in it. Of course you didn’t know that till they handed you a piece of paper and asked you to fill it out. It went downhill from there– I ordered soup, a dessert crêpe and a cappuccino. The crêpe was ready but nobody made the coffee or delivered soup. When asked, the coffee was made 5 min later while one of the cooks kept calling another cook to get the soup. I had to tell them what kind twice before I finally got it and then had to ask for a spoon. So close to ten minutes after receiving the crêpe. The soup(corn chowder) was good, the Capp was delish and the crêpe was good but the restaurant was very disorganized and seemed to be poorly run. Personally, I wouldn’t eat here again. Maybe takeout.
