Best neighborhood bar ever! Great beer choices, awesome cheap food, and great service! You will feel like a family member after the first time. Awesome place to watch the MSU game and the have a pretty awesome game day breakfast for early home games! Go Green!

Great food and cheap prices! Lots of regulars who are welcoming and fun. The owner is awesome and usually in the facility to help out when they get busy. Also her soups: THE BEST. She makes all of her own soups and they are SO GOOD. Definitely worth taking a trip and seeing the atmosphere and get a beer, a burger and fries for $ 5.

This place is legendary in Lansing/​East Lansing. My Dad used to come here in the 60’s when East Lansing was dry (something most college students today could probably not imagine). Dagwoods is right on the Lansing/​EL border. It has great atmosphere and has the feel of having not changed much in the last 68 years (opened in 1947). The food is good and inexpensive. And it is great fun to sit at the bar and watch the short order cook. Good times.

Total dive bar and we loved it! Came in with some teammates on a Sunday and got great, friendly service and got our food pretty quickly. Cannot beat 5 bucks for a burger, fries, and a beer/​soda. Will definitely come back the next time we are in town (:

I got the worst service of my life there. I guess the bartender was having a bad day and taking it out on me and my friends. The menus were thrown at us, when asked a question she didn’t wait for us to finish answering before walking away. She acted like we were really not welcomed and like we had done something wrong. I got my sandwich without a plate — just in a paper wrapper. I won’t be returning.

In terms of dive bars, Dagwood is 5-​stars all the way. The burgers are greasy and delicious, the fries are crispy, and the beer on tap is cheap. It’s exactly what you want from a place like this!
Their menu appears to have a bunch of good items, but I always get the $ 5 burger, beer, & fries. This is unbeatable for the price.

Great local home grown local spot. Burgers are greasy and fries are great. The buns are of a buttery type and very tasty. Good people watching spot with ice cold beers, generous drinks and a nice meal.

Dagwoods is the best «little known bar» close to Michigan state’s campus. Their 5 $ burger fries and 12oz beer deal is the best in town. Just because it is past the highway, MSU students don’t want to go. I say that they are missing out on a great deal. Dogwoods does their Deal any day All Day until their kitchen closes. The burger is great, the fries are solid, and the 12oz beer deal is hard to beat. I would recommend this establishment to friends, although I hope it maintains its feel as a dive bar 517−487−3886.
