I would to give this place a 5 star rating since the food is always great but there’s one thing that continues to bother me over and over again… They have the most inappropriate little plastic toy — it’s a boy that you pull its pants down and it starts to «pee» water out. I guess they think it’s funny. Once the cook was actually spraying my kids with it! What in the world!!! It’s degrading. Disgusting. It’s a total turn off and I’m surprised they still continue this practice over and over again. Weird! Let’s practice some manners here and Get rid of it!

Their lunch bento box is such a great deal. I keep coming back again and again for lunch. Hibachi was good as well. Never had dinner here.

This place unfortunately is tucked away in a corner where a lot of people don’t notice it but I certainly hope people continue to love it so that it doesn’t disappear because this is a fabulous restaurant in every way… the décor is serene yet very elegant —-just beautiful …, it seems that there’s something confusing on their website because it sends you to the Acme shopping center… down the road and around the corner — yet it’s on the bypass near St. Mary’s hospital turn off so I’ve had a few people say to me «oh I can’t figure quite out where that restaurant is «., so maybe they need to change that on their website so more people find this treasure —-but not so many that I can’t get go seat!!! All the hibachi chefs are artists!!! I’ve actually taken pictures of many of the things they make!!! I love to sit at the sushi bar because watching a great sushi chef at work is a privilege and a treat !!! …every chef I’ve ever seen has always produced the most beautiful works of art that are both delicious and incredibly artistic —-as all great sushi chefs should be producing … The Hibachi tables are a party with exceptional food… and their bar not only serves you great cocktails but it’s such a fun place that we usually run into friends there and if we don’t we usually go home with a new one.,., The Decour in this restaurant is probably the most beautiful and elegant of any restaurant in the area and we are privileged to have some amazing restaurants from Stockton on down to Trenton and Princeton but none of them can beat the interior of this restaurant yet whether you’re dressed to the nines or you’re just casual you are going to be treated like you’re their best friends!!! I love the customer service and I love how warm and friendly everyone who works there is… Anyway this is just a super super place!!!

So my daughter recently gave birth to a wondrous and awe-inspiring little nugget. By nugget I mean little girl. The reason for this slight digression is simple. I watched her heave as the child wrecked havoc on uterus. The pain she was in was simply indescribable-indescribable until I tasted the food at this joint. I took a few bites and was immediately immersed in the feeling that I can only imagine my beloved daughter was in. My uterus was contracting as if my body was uncontrollably keggling. A rat ran past my foot and the minute I tasted the chicken I knew it was not a bird-it had to have been the rat that was scurrying along just minutes prior to my meal arrived. The man squirted me with a bottle that mimicked a male genital. That is just insensitive to women like me who do not get the real deal very often. I have to be teased with a squirt bottle! I do not appreciate the pain that forced me to empathize, not just merely sympathize, with my birthing daughter, the fried rat, or the insensitivity to my gender and the lack of discretion regarding the male body.

This is the only sushi place my husband and I will go to in Newtown. We love it! It is a fusion place, but the food is outstanding. The fish is always fresh and the portions are good-sized. The drinks are terrific. And I have never had juicier calamari that the ones they serve here! It’s a busy place, so if you are looking for a quiet sushi restaurant this is far from it! They have hibachi, too, but we usually come here for sushi. So many appetizer choices too and always something new on the menu that surprises is in a lovely way — like the spicy squash soup! The waiters are helpful and quick. Also, it is easy to request any substitutions or changes to the menu. Thank you for being our favorite Japanese food spot for 5 years now!

Came here with my a softball team. Called ahead and was accommodated immediately. For a strip mall restaurant very nice place. Service was very good and food was delicious. The chef was very entertaining considering I have been to hibachi many times. Would definitely recommend this place.

We love Mt. Fuji! The sushi is always delicious and the service is impeccable. My son loves the specialty rolls while I stick with the standards. Always an enjoyable dinner.

Their spicy salmon roll was delicious. For my entrée I had the Beef Curry Rice, which was excellent. Unfortunately the tempura was oily and lacking in depth of flavor. It didn’t have the salty richness you hope for from fried food. Still, I’d go back just for the curry!

My original review was 3 starts and was more about hibachi. The sushi experience is much better and we have been going quite a lot. Sushi rolls are always very fresh and creative. We tried a few appetizers as well as the soup and all are very tasty. Service is excellent! We like how they use kids cups with lids for kids. It’s the little things that make me happy. I would definitely recommend for sushi.

I came here for a friends birthday dinner! It is just like the Fuji near my hometown. Food is great, I suggest the hibachi.

I am at those location in Newtown. First time I have been here. Have eaten in Southampton many times and always enjoyed. I am writing this review because I am bored. Called and asked for a reservation for 6 pm. they asked if we could come at 6:15. Told us table would be ready in 5. Twenty minutes later we sat down. Been here now for one hour and still have not had person start to cook. No apology… no explanation. On my third water… great tap water. Have to be at work in 10 hours… hope I make it

I’d been wanting to go to a hibachi restaurant for a while since moving here, and finally set out to do so. We called to make a reservation for 2, and were told to come at 8pm; 8pm, and we were there ready to be seated. Inside, the space is really nice– dark ambiance and modern décor. The regular tables are set apart from the hibachi, which is nice, as there are often parties around the hibachi tables– and there were: at least 2 – 4 groups of teens enjoying their birthdays. It took 45 minutes to be seated, which is extremely frustrating. What is the point of a reservation if you are going to be standing there for almost an hour? I wish places like this would just be up-front. All we were told was, «we are waiting for people to leave… shouldn’t be long.» I, too, have been guilty of finishing my food and sitting over an hour to chat— so saying that the restaurant is waiting for tables to leave isn’t very reassuring to patrons who are waiting to be seated; especially those whose reservation was 45 minutes prior. When led to the back where the hibachi is, we were seated right on top of another couple. It was literally the 4 of us crammed into one corner; eventually, when we saw no more people were going to be seated there, we mutually agreed that it would be better to slide down and afford each other some more room. Food was pretty typical for hibachi and it was enjoyable. I only wish the noodles would come standard as they do in some other hibachi places; instead, we had to order them as a side dish. If not for the ridiculous wait time & disorganization, I would say I would be back again. For me, it doesn’t matter how good the food is if you are going to wait hours to eat it.

Recently dined here for first time. At first glance of their menu I was unimpressed with sushi selection. Limited amount and rolls just didn’t seem that innovative and interesting. I ordered the sushi bento box which comes with 1 roll, small salad, miso soup. I ordered the angry dragon roll and it was so good. The roll was packed and big and the sauce was so good. The sushi was fresh and everything else was great. Service was good but slow for a business weekday lunch. Prices are consistent and average with the area.

One star cause 0 not available. Came in early on Friday night(before 6) for hibachi. We were seated immediately. Then nothing. Took over half an hour just to get a drink, 10 minutes later soup and salad came. Still no chef. After foolishly waiting an hour, I told the waiter I’m out of here. He kept saying is the food is coming soon. I then had to yell I want see the manager. He then took me to the manager where they stood and had 1 minute conversation in a foreign language. The manager then told me they were ready now. I said no, I’ll pay flor my soda if you want but I can’t enjoy my meal after waiting all this time. Had not been here in years. Went once before and the food was bad. My son got me to try it again. Well, I still don’t know if the food is any better, but I do know that I will NEVER be back!

I’m no expert in sushi, but I’ve enjoyed it around the world. I can confidently say this sushi is the best on the planet!!! I’m blown away by their perfect infusions of homemade sauces. Try the Autumn of Philly roll made with spicy king crab, salmon on top with a pepper wasabi and the most amazing, momiji sauce I’ve ever had. Consistent, bursting with flavor, can’t go wrong. Thank me later.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve dined in and ordered takeout, and they’re always consistent. I’m a big fan of their salmon and Philly rolls, as well as their specialty rolls. It’s so easy to get to from where I live, and it’s not far from 95 either. Can’t wait to make my way back here again!

Waited nearly two hours for entrée. Unacceptable. The steak hibachi was cold. Sushi was very good, but will not be returning again due to overall experience.

I have always like to dine in Mt. Fuji for dinner services but this is there first review that I’m giving. I would give it a 3.5 if I could. Mt. Fuji has good sushi rolls as each roll is creative but flavorful. This restaurant is certainly not traditional since the food are more to the fusion side of food. What I recommend is an entrée which is a duck dish. The skin is quite crispy and the sauce is flavorful. I would not recommend to have the habachi dinner, it’s mediocre. The general dining area is a good place for a casual dinner through not fine dining.

The best sushi in the area; luckily it is in walking distance from my office. A bit pricey; but worth it for either take out or to dine in. Great bar; beautiful décor… nothing compares to this sushi place. Just ate here again tonight and honestly I’ve never had a bad sushi experience here! Love some of the new signature rolls on the menu The waiter was so accommodating he made sure I got a roll that I noticed was no longer on the menu. Also, I am not a desert person although the person I was with is, and he wanted a certian desert and the waiter insisted he would make it happen, but we ended up splitting the chocolate truffle with vanilla ice cream which was on the current menu — and just as good as the sushi!

The facility is very nice with dark wood tones and adequate spacing of tables. The sushi area is to the side and kept very clean. The service is adequate, if not overly warm or informative. Definitely, I nice space to eat and socialize. The Hibachi is not much to my liking, as whether beef, chicken, shrimp or lobster, they all taste almost the same coming off the grill due to the heavy dosing with soy sauce. The flipping of food morsels from the spatula into the diners mouth is funny the first dozen of so times it is experienced, but gets old(and messy) after a while. This is not the place I would chose to have a delicious steak, as it is far from a Ruth Chris, Capitol Grille, or Walensky’s experience. The rest of the menu is diverse and generally decent, but not outstanding enough to want to return more than sporadically. The presentation is done well, and the staff is prompt if not overly engaging with the customers. I have tried the Udon/Soba Noodles with Chicken or Beef and enjoyed them, although they were less spicy that I generally prefer. The Bento Boxes and lunch are a solid meal with Shumai, Tempura Veggies, and Haru Maki or other light roll as accompaniment. For me, Mt. Fuji is a good alternative place of a local lunch or dinner, but I would not drive far out of my way for the opportunity. Thus, 3 Stars.
