This place is amazing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and honestly appreciates your business. Their gift shop is overflowing with gorgeous decorations for Halloween, autumn, and Christmas, many I understand handcrafted by residents including the local Amish. Their apple cider is delicious, a hundred times better than what we buy at the supermarket. The best way to put it is you can taste how fresh it is and it’s very spicy(not hot, but cinnamon and definitely some other spices). I wish we bought more because it’s so good cold, I would love to try a gallon heated. Their candy apples are traditional and fantastic. The ones we got from the supermarket have some sort of soft, gummy substance on them but Steyr’s uses that old lollipop-like coating(but it’s not so thick it’ll break your teeth). Their bakery, man it has some amazing pastries. Their cream puffs are twice the size of your average ones(though, they fill them with custard rather than traditional cream), cream horns are nice and flaky, cannoli rank up there with some of the best I’ve ever had, assorted cookies are great(very soft and crumbly), eclairs are good, neapolitan is huge(like a small cake or torte) that has custard and chocolate cream in it, apple cider donuts are amazing, and the giant black-and-white cookie is okay(more like a thin cake than a cookie and the chocolate is more like fudge than a ganache). The apple pie is one of the best I ever had. The apples are soft and gooey, with cinnamon melted into it, and the crust is so flaky is crumbles when you touch it. My cousin was happy they still had a chicken pot pie and shepherd’s pie because they were sold out last time. Our only gripe is the potato salad was kind of nasty but we only bought a small container of it.

What a menagerie of a market, the locals all hoot and holler over buying their fresh baked pies, cakes, pastries and donuts from their in house bakery. They are known for their fresh apple cider and apple cider donuts, candied apples with or without nuts sell like hot cakes in the fall. The outside of the market greets you with plenty of annuals, perennials and hanging baskets, inside you will find locally grown fruits and vegetables from the local farmers. Shelves are lined with homemade jams and specialty jarred sauces and dressings as well as typical daily needs. I do like the way the market is set up, the short rows of low shelves allow you to glance the entire store. To the far right they have a huge gift shop with one of a kind handmade items by folks in Pennsylvania, including Amish made furniture. The shop features seasonal decorations, wreaths and unique picture frames. Inside the main store is a dairy section along with juices, iced teas and lemonades. Beyond this you will find a lone woman cooking up breakfast or lunch for many locals and they offer a small dining area which is set up café style along the inside of the front windows, the only problem I would have with this is it is also where all the traffic walks through to exit the store. It took everything I had not to rip off a piece of the strangers toast and dip it into his egg and snatch a piece of bacon. They have a huge deli with meats and cheese, their own bowls of homemade salads and sides, I mean we are talking about a case larger than my local grocery store! Rotisserie or fried chicken, wings, their own apple barbecued ribs, hoagies, Reuben and cheesesteaks are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to lunch. Moving on down the line you have homemade hand dipped ice cream with a half dozen or more flavors to choose from. The entire left side of the market is a mile long case,(exaggerating here), filled with freshly baked goods, they are proud of their sticky buns and you can watch all of these items being baked in their massive ovens. This market is not to be confused with Styer’s Orchard, Inc., which is not far from here at all and they do sell their fresh picked produce at a mark up. Http://www.yelp.com/biz/styer-orchard-inc-langhorne I’m not hooting and hollering like my neighbors are, I think the store is over priced and I found nothing so exciting in taste so far to keep me running back and the gift shop could use a good dusting. Hey give me back my piece of bacon!
