The food is good, however, I gave it three stars because the service was terrible. The male server was cold and offending. He was short and abrasive when asked questions. He should not be waiting on tables. Will not go back!

I am so angry and disappointed at tonight’s meal, I couldn’t even put it into words until a few hours after eating. Now that I’ve semi-digested the little bit that I could stomach(mainly cause I was starving and there was nothing else in our fridge), I’m going to elaborate on my bf’s review posted earlier(Adam G.). He drove through all that snow and paid the exorbitant price for this ridiculously awful meal so I understand why he felt the need to create a Unilocal just to rant about this experience. OK, let’s start at the beginning. Being snowed in(~2 ft this weekend) and recovering from a surgery, I decided, quite stupidly, that crappy chinese take-out would make for an easy, decent dinner. Now understand, I’m Chinese, I grew up in a Chinese household that served delicious shanghainese food every day, and I used to live only a few minutes from the best Chinatown on the east coast(Flushing, Queens, NYC), so my standards are really high and I am more than smart enough to know not to expect much from take-out places, let alone take-out places in Central PA. No, when I order food from take-out places, I order with the same expectations as I would order a hamburger from McD’s(ie. not steakhouse quality). All I expect is something relatively clean and relatively edible. This place failed on both counts. We ordered fried dumplings, beef/broccoli, general tso’s chicken, and vegetable chow mein. The fried dumplings were obviously fried, frozen, then refried, or at least left out for a while cause when we got them, they were hard, dry, and inedible. The filling was tasteless and only vaguely resembled ground pork… The beef/broccoli was my bf’s dish. I didn’t try it but it looked overcooked and he said it tasted rubbery. He ate more broccoli than the beef and that says a lot for someone who normally doesn’t eat his veggies. If we hadn’t been literally starving, we wouldn’t have eaten any of it. The GTC was absolutely disgusting. I’ve never had it that bad and it’s literally the one dish every crappy Americanized Chinese take-out place should be able to get right. The chicken was fried at least twice, to the point of being totally dried out, and the sauce was disgustingly sweet. I took one bite and gave up, despite how hungry I was. I spent the remainder of the meal picking at the broccoli and the veggies in the chow mein… Which brings me to the most absurd part of the meal! You wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t taken a picture, but the chow mein wasn’t chow mein. «Chow mein» /«Chao mian» /«炒面» LITERALLY translates to «fried noodles.» This. Was. Not. Fried. Noodles. Oh no, what we got was a plate of disgustingly soggy veggies stir fried in a white milky tasteless sauce with a shit ton of onions. I don’t know in what universe this constitutes chow mein… Were they being really liberal with the definition of «noodles» and substituting onions? Even then, this was soupy, not fried. To add salt to the wound, it was $ 4 online but $ 7 in person. We started our meal with snowy roads, a hefty check, and a ripped paper bag before reaching the front door(cause they were so cheap they didn’t double bag our large order with a plastic bag even though they knew it was icy outside). Two of the containers cracked(yes even the plastic they use is cheap) and spilled a bit when the bag slid to the ground by the front door. That’s how we started this miserable meal. We ended the meal(fuming and getting indigestion) with two ridiculous fortune cookies. First one read: «This is fortune cookie does not hold your fortune. Please choose another.» Second one was empty. Yeah. I really don’t know what to think of this experience. It was just so ridiculously, comically, stupidly bad. I don’t say this often for restaurants and I’m half sorry to say this cause I know this place is probably run by immigrants trying to make a living, but god dammit, if you’re serving food that isn’t even edible and upcharging this much without remorse, it’s a crime and you should be shut down! I honestly would not subject even my worst enemies to such an experience. If you’re in the area looking for something good to eat, like my bf said in his review, go to the Vietnamese place next door, Rice and Noodles. They serve human food at reasonable prices. Food –(0⁄0) Shit. Absolute shit. Service –(0⁄0) Cheap bags, cheap containers, cheap food but charges exorbitantly… And lists incorrect prices online. Atmosphere — N/A, cause we got take out but I’m told by my bf that they are directly connected to a car wash… Overall –(0⁄0) No idea how they’re rated so high here. Either they were owned by different people, had a different chef, had a better system of food quality control, or somehow skewed their reviews. There’s a story behind it all, cause no way they are anything but a 0⁄0 now. Don’t go. Save yourself a trip to hell.

We have been here twice and both times enjoyed it very much. I grew up on NY’s Chinatown food so I am picky. In Lancaster, I have found bad Chinese several times and just ok as well, but this place is very good. Expect a pot of hot tea along with crispy noodles/duck sauce as you look over your menu. The bowl of soup is family style, enough for 4 cups. We’ve had the hot & sour served that way and enjoyed it. My son loved his cup of egg drop soup. We ordered the beef on a stick and although very tasty felt the meat was a bit chewy. Our entrees were all very good. I will agree with another reviewer that their spicy dishes weren’t overly spicy but that was fine by me. Lastly, the service was excellent, the people so extremely pleasant and attentive.

I really love the food here. I wish they had a Chinese restaurant like this in Philly! Everything I’ve had(chicken w/broccoli, shrimp dishes, beef dishes, lo mein, etc) has been good. Nothing is overly sauced, it’s always just right. The fried rice is also delicious. Won ton soup is pretty good with a nice broth and full of pork. I’ve never felt bloated after eating this food probably because they don’t put a load of crap in it. I’ve only gotten take out and the guy at the front is always very nice… Please open a restaurant in Philly:)

This is my go to for Chinese in Lancaster County. Like everywhere else, it is decently enjoyable until you start wondering about the meat. Next time thinking about getting the Lo Mein without the chicken or shrimp. Only problem is that food has been getting greasier and greasier. Wife likes the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. Even so, they are light years ahead of Tony Wangs or #1 Chinese(Bridgeport) if that is even possible.

We had the most horrible experience at the restaurant. My husband, myself and our two boys stopped for a late dinner. We are from Washington DC so we know hood Chinese food. We ordered lomain and General Tso’s chicken and a House Special soup. The waitress told us that the House Soup had jumbo shrimp however when the dish arrived there were two tiny shrimp and we had to send it back. The General Tso’s chicken my kids favorite arrived on a huge plate. The kids after the first bite refused to eat it. I opened the chicken pieces one by one and there was no chicken just breading. In the huge dish there were 2 tiny pieces of chicken. We had to pay at the register because our waitress was eating and not paying attention. The chief agrees that the chicken was missing and told the waitress to give us 50% back for the chicken but she said they already paid and did nothing. Horrible food, horrible experience and wasted money. Stay away!!!

Food was very good, and was ample in portions. We ate in their dining room that had white tablecloths and napkins. Wait staff was very attentive. We had Tsad Liu Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, and Beef with Scallion(no appetizers). Each dish came with an individual bowl of white rice. The only warning I can give is that there is no soy sauce on the table, and the menu suggests not to add extra soy sauce. So, if you really eat Chinese style(a bite of rice with a bite of entrée), you should be OK. The three of us got out of there for just over $ 30, which considering how well it tasted was a great deal.

I love Yang’s food. The people are nice. They deliver very quickly and their food is absolutely top shelf. In a city that isn’t exactly overflowing with great Asian food(there is some but not a lot), Yangs is awesome. It’s one of the favorite delivery dinners in our house.

The place is connected to a car wash and looks run down on the outside but inside is extremely nice. Not much of a section though and they are pretty expensive compared to other places. It cost me nearly $ 30 just for 2 combinations and boneless ribs. Order general taos and it wasn’t spicy at all and the pieces were huge so there wasn’t much. Nice place but I’ve had better and cheaper.

Usually good delivery, but this time, they screwed up the order(chicken wings instead of fried dumplings). When I called back to tell them, I was told«I read it back to you.» No, you didn’t — I can tell the difference between«wings» and«dumplings.» Then I was asked, in a rude tone, «Did you eat them?» What are you going to do, take them back?!? When I said that we are not going to be ordering from there anymore, the reply was«OK.» OK, indeed…

Out in Lancaster for business, and had a craving for some good Chinese. After reviewing several spots, I picked Yang’s because of the reviews on here. I ordered my three favorite items off a Chinese menu: Hot & Sour soup, cold noodles with sesame sauce, and Kung Pao chicken. For those who don’t know, KPC is supposed to be hot & spicy as a rule, which is why it’s always printed in red on menus. I asked for it «extra spicy», which, hopefully, would be hot enough to give a normal person gastrointestinal distress for two or three days. The staff was friendly, and I got my food within 10 minutes, which is remarkable considering I had just come in off the street, I would rate the soup at about a 4 out of 5. It was pretty good, and I had high hopes for the rest of the meal. However, it went nowhere after that. the Sesame Noodles were dry as a bone. It was basically noodles with scallions & sesame sprinkled on top. i thought there was supposed to be «sesame sauce», hence the name, but I guess they forgot. If it wasn’t for the fresh scallions, it would be even more tasteless than it was. I give it a 1. As for the Kung Pao, while there were tons of crispy peanuts in there, it’s supposed to be Kung Pao CHICKEN, not Kung Pao Peanuts,. Where’s the chicken? I found out later, after I dug my way about an inch down the container, that the peanuts all somehow coincidentally rose to the top. EIther that, or they were thrown in the container last. All the chicken and thin sauce with the flavor turned out to be at the bottom. Not convenient if you’re eating out the take-out container. The only way to enjoy this dish would be to pour it out onto a plate or bowl. Better yet, where’s the spice? I hardly taste any heat at all, despite asking for EXTRASPICY. Peanuts are tasty, green peppers are fresh, but there’s nothing remarkable about this dish,. I give it a 3. All in all, not bad, but I will be trying someplace else next time.

Best Chinese in Lancaster. They are also the best price — maybe because the building is attached to a car wash or something like that. It is clean and the staff is friendly and the food is exceptional. I have never been disappointed. If you get some bad news about your health at LHG you need to go to this place — it’s good for what ales you.(And you will probably run into your doctor there). Seriously — check this place out!

This is not a buffet place. My husband and I decided to give it a try the other day. I am a Chinese. I have to say, this place is one of the most authentic restaurant in Lancaster area. Compare to most of the Chinese restaurants here that make Americanized Chinese food, this place is considerably authentic.

I needed lunch. Skirting the edge of downtown Lancaster, and GPS-less, I stumbled upon Yang’s. This yellow shack looks like part of the Sunoco, but it’s not. I asked how long they’ve been around and was told +20 years. Then I wondered if they had take out.(Is the Pope Catholic?) Their menu’s what you’d expect from a typical Chinese restaurant, hiding no surprises. I asked customers what was good: one person said«everything», then recommended their fried rice, so I asked for a pint of pork fried rice($ 3.75). In less than 10 minutes, I had a bag with my dish, a fork, napkins, a few soy sauce packets, and extra hot oil. Scarfing down my prize, I had to stop several times to ponder its amazing taste. It’s true hunger is the best sauce, but once I quelled my hunger pangs, I still could appreciate my dish’s unexpectedly good texture and ingredients, and its soy sauce-induced color. For less than $ 4, you too can buy a pint of happiness.
