A hidden treasure in Lancaster! So quiet and serene. The owner greets everyone individually and makes it a wonderful experience. For those that love books and coffee and great food, I recommend you visit this cute, artsy Café! The Asiago Bagel breakfast sandwich was DELICIOUS!

I found this wonderful place right after moving to Lancaster. The atmosphere was inviting, the food warm, and best of all the staff made me feel welcome in my new home. Their wonderful theme centered around the works of Lewis and Tolkien really lends the place an awesome creative vibe and it has become my favorite place to work outside of home. Even if working isn’t what you want to do their is almost always something going on, whether it is an open mic, concert, or even free dance lessons! I cannot recommend this place more, so go and check it out!

The vibe here is bizarre. Someone stationed on the street talked my family into stopping in for their cereal bar and showing of the cartoon«The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe» for a kids event. I took one like around and saw one guy was passed out on the table while others just looked stoned. Not a kid in sight and didn’t feel like a place for kids. It was really uncomfortable and we left immediately.

This is the niftiest little place almost secretly tucked away right in the heart of downtown Lancaster. It’s been here a year and I didn’t even know it existed. You can’t ask for anything better with the atmosphere. Super laid back and welcoming. Awesome murals, coats of arms, nifty bookshelves. Patrons playing chess. We had pots of tea and apple cider; it was delicious, freshly brewed. The staff was friendly and accommodating for our group of 7; we pushed a few tables together. Since moving to Lancaster I’ve been on the lookout for«places I should bring my friends when they come visit». I’ve hit the jackpot here.

This is a great find! The staff are warm and welcoming. You can buy the books or look through them. The food is good and the atmosphere is outstanding. We will be back every day that they’re open, while we are visiting the area. We love the place!

Square one coffee, amazing staff, cozy and welcoming. I love this place. Story time for kids is adorable. A place to getaway for a moment or two and just be. An imaginative place. A place to immerse yourself and take a moment to let your imagination drift.

Great place! A smart, literate, creative, well spring in the midst of Lancaster. Very good coffee, tasty food, inspiration AND a wardrobe entrance to Narnia!!! Starbucks can’t compete with that!

Remote place with nice vibes, good people, and plenty of room. Whether you go in to grab a coffee, read, write, or work on some art, you can slip right into the ambiance of likeminded patrons. Had the grilled cheese and loved it; though, I will be checking out the night scene as this coffee house/bookstore/café also dubs as a place to enjoy a brew in the evening.

Great place with nice Inkling(Lewis, TolkienA) vibe and fresh, tasty food. Highly recommend if you want an artsy eclectic pub like atmosphere in which you can eat, hang out, play board games, or hammer at the piano. Love it.

This place is truly a hidden gem. It’s only open on market days – Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday – and to find it, you need to go through a door, through a mysterious hallway to another door(with a truly whimsical Hobbiton-inspired mini-fountain). Those who are curious enough to open the second door will enter into a Tolkien-and-C.S. Lewis-themed café with extremely reasonably-priced drinks, snacks, and sandwiches, friendly and interesting staff, and a killer used book collection which you can peruse or purchase for cheap. I popped in here and ended up staying and hanging out with the staff for an hour and a half. This is honestly one of the coolest and chillest places I’ve ever been, and I’ve spent the past year traveling halfway around the world. It’s the perfect place to hang out.
