Ordered salmon and broccoli. Not only was it extremely overpriced($ 26), but the portion was very small.

Great pop-in tonite at one of my husband and my special places and they did not disappoint. We had the warm olive platter which was delicious. My husband had the sliders he said were good and I had the beet salad. We ate at the bar with the pianist playing in the background while we tried to unwind from a long day. A big shout out to Rebecca who was a complete delight. Another fine dining experience at The Greenfield Inn.

Ray and his staff do a great job keeping the Inn relevant after so many years in business. Up to date menu with subtle changes, great appetizers, small/medium plates and a nice selection of entrees are always appealing. Did I mention an outstanding wine cellar? Tasty cocktails well made and a knowledgeable and courteous staff made it well worth the visit. The Prime Rib was delicious and so was the Diver scallops. I highly recommend this classic Lancaster dining experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It’s decorated nicely, the service is friendly, quick, and helpful. The drinks are interesting and the food is very good(the diver scallops with forbidden rice were quite nice). Fortunately we were seated about half a room away from the piano, so we didn’t have the negative experience that others reported. The only suggestion I would make to the management might be to pare down the wine list a little. It’s HUGE and very difficult to follow because of the size, and also because of a fairly unreadable font choice. It’s much easier to just order a glass or two of the house wines, which are quite good. I’m definitely looking forward to returning when I’m in the area.

Believe the $$$ on this one. It’s overpriced. They are not afraid to charge the many seniors that go here. It’s just too much for the quality of drinks and their food. The quality is good. It’s just not rave-about great. There is a ton of blow your culinary and cocktail and atmosphere mind competition from downtown Lancaster. OGI banks on the truth that this is definitely is the only nicer restaurant on the route 30 side of Lancaster. If you’re taking the parents out, or the grandparents ate taking themselves out, this place may be a perfect fit because you don’t get bothered by any young kids or young adults. And that’s worth something. But if you have some youth, a choice, and a car and you are willing to spend the same money, go downtown and experience excellence instead.

Excellent food and wine. Jazz band during dinner on a Wednesday night was great. Highly recommend for ambiance and food. I had the beet salad and tuna tataki with a nice glass of red Zinfandel. Enjoyed good food and good music. Music was jazzy old classics which was nice. So they got that going for them.

Good find for a last minute bite. I found this restaurant online after a hockey game and was a tad concerned when I pulled in to the parking lot. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the interior and despite the negative reviews regarding service/hostess — we did not experience that. I called to make sure they could accommodate four boys and two adults on a Saturday evening & we were told that there were no tables available but we could dine at the bar. We arrived after a hockey game, so we were not dressed appropriately, but was not an issue when we arrived. The two women greeting were very pleasant and the bartender who helped us couldn’t have been nicer/more accommodating. The chicken liver toasts were good, as was the calamari. The pork chop was juicy and delicious. Glad we stopped here instead of fast food on our 2-hour drive back home.

As far as I’m concerned, The Greenfield Restaurant & Bar is one of your better bets for a restaurant in Lancaster, an area not really known for having fine dining establishments. That is unless you consider subsistence like Amish foods to be fine dining, which I admittedly don’t. The Greenfield Restaurant & Bar has an upscale atmosphere about it and my service was top notch. I had their Caesar salad which was tasty, fresh and crisp, and when I asked for it to come with extra anchovies, they had no problem with that though the anchovies were out of the can black, not white. For my entrée I went for their Pan-Seared Giant Diver Sea Scallops that came with spring peas, what they termed to be «Forbidden Rice» and«Lady Turkey» sausage. The scallops were indeed large in size, dry diver with a fresh clean taste. Though nothing exceptional, certainly as good as you’d get in most restaurants one might consider as being upscale.

Where to start, coming through the door you are greeted by the not so cheerful hostess. She tried to seat us next to a painfully loud piano — sorry but I don’t want to try to shout across the table. Food was great, I had the French onion soup and a barrel cut steak with mushroom and potatoes, but wait one minute I had to wait 5minutes for the potatoes to arrive. Overall the food was excellent. Don’t expect to get great service at this place, it’s painfully slow and you will only see the server maybe once. Expect to get your refills of drinks at the bar as I had to do — after politely waiting for 10mins trying to make eye contact with the hostess a couple of times. We decided as a family to not get desert or coffee or any other drinks because it might take another 30mins of waiting. The only time I saw the speedy service was at the end when we paid. Grumpy face at the front never said anything as we left. I’ve eaten at a lot of fine restaurants like Jean George, this restaurant tries to be pretentious and upscale, had the right food but doesn’t have that final eye for detail on the service. Service completes the experience this didn’t come close. Bye grumpy hostess person

Ok first off. No I do not prefer to sit on top of the piano. Normally I’d prefer to hear my family vs use text messages. Second sitting on top of the AC while normally would be ok if it were 100 °F outside. But having it gust up my backside while I’m eating isn’t very preferred. The lady that seated us(will refrain from classifying her a hostess and truly hesitate using the word lady but yeah let’s carry on) had one of those bitch faces that if she smiled no on would recognize her. She was truly annoyed to apparently have us there more so when we asked to be moved from the piano zone and when we left didn’t bother to say thank you so we made it a point to say you’re welcome. Now about the service or lack there of. It was easier to just get things ourself. I think when you first order you need to order all your drinks that you’ll have for that evening all at once or do as my husband did go to the bar and get it yourself. Oh you want all your food together? Oh sorry they like to give you sides after your beef is cold. Silly reader. You’re pretty demanding for a customer. Funniest moment: waitress asking would you like desert? Ah no thanks we don’t want to get served when breakfast rolls around. Good luck with the service. Food was ok. Nothing to go stark raving crazy about. Once you get it you’re pretty much exasperated from waiting that one simply doesn’t even care anymore. As for the owner he loves to visit people and make small talk. Unfortunately after seeing our annoyance he never came around to us anymore. Should have waited in line for Millers.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here a great deal. The restaurant itself is lovely. The food was delicious. We both had the pork chop with spaetzell, caramelized apple and other things I can’t remember. So good. I’ll dream with eating it again some day… Oh, we also had some really tasty beets.

We stopped in for an hour just for a bottle of wine and appetizers. We were impressed! We were seated in the bar area which was open and bright. The server was great too. I enjoyed the wine selection; we ordered one from«the cellar» which I think are discounted bottles that they are no longer ordering. It was great and nicely priced! We got the cheese plate — FABULOUS. The olive plate — YUM. And the short rib spring rolls — …Eh. They weren’t BAD at all. Just not great. I think they’re too thick and the caramelized onions get lost. But again — not bad, they just need tweaking. I’d go again!

My husband and I made reservations for our Anniversary, and stated that it was our 25th. Upon arrival, we were seated at one of the worst tables in the restaurant(our table was against a wall, backed up to the bar stools at the rather noisy bar). The candle on our table was never lit, and our waiter was just rude. I left this place with a feeling of such disappointment, and we will never go back. Two different sets of our friends have also had very bad experiences. According to some of the other reviews, I suppose it’s possible to have a nice dinner at The Greenfield, but at best it is hit or miss, and for the price, I would not risk it.

This was the nicest meal that we have had in Lancaster. The food was delicious. I had the beet salad with scallops and my daughter had the crab cakes. My daughter also had the crème brûlée. Everything was delicious. The scallops were fantastic. I will probably order the same dish if we return to Lancaster. The service was excellent. Joe was an excellent server and the hostess did her job very well too. If you’re visiting on a pretty day, you have to sit outside they have a lovely outside patio.

Went there with my elderly mother because she liked the scallops there. One of the scallops in her order was bad — as in rancid will give you food poisoning bad. She had to spit it out. That bad. We notified the manager who took the plate away — I assumed to inform the kitchen and take the entrée off the bill. Check came and the scallops were still on the bill. I brought this up with the manger whose response was ‘well she ate all but one…’. and refused to take if off the bill because ‘the kitchen said it was fine’(they ate it???) Was speechless. Paid the check and never going back. Highly suggest you do the same. Bad food and total lack of class, concern or responsibility

If your in the Lancaster area and want to impress somebody over dinner this would be a great place. The setting and atmosphere are very nice and the service is impeccable. It is a tad on the pricey side so be prepared to drop some serious coin, especially for the steaks. There are chicken and seafood options for less than $ 30 though that are very good too. I had a crab cake platter. It was good with mostly crab and little filler which is how it should be. I worked in Baltimore for a couple years so my crab cake standards are very high… so when I say my crab cake was pretty good but not great… means it was still pretty darn good! Had a app that was kind of a Short Rib Egg Roll thing. It was very good also. Not a place I would be going to a lot but it would be a very good special occasion place or place to take a client you want to impress

Certainly recommended and worth a repeat visit. Salads with the eggs on top, filet mignon, and lamb chops were all good. As was the chocolate fudge desert. Partnering with local farms is a big plus. Nice place.

Perfect restaurant for the winter season. Such a cozy environment even dining in the cellar. Highly recommend the cheese plate and calamari for appetizers. I had their sea scallops with sausage and wild rice and snow peas and it was amazing. The scallops were surprisingly large and the sausage and rice were seasoned well to compliment the scallops. Great wine list as well, and it was 20% off on our Wednesday visit! High praises all around.

Nothing beats an amazing, local family-owned restaurant & bar, and this one is among the best of the best in Lancaster County. From their wide selection of mouth watering drinks(extensive list of wines, bottled craft beer and inventive cocktails), traditional and fusion culinary delights and amazing service, you’ll want to keep coming back… I know I do!
