First Time Visiting /Brunch Experience: My in laws offered to take my wife and I to brunch to celebrate my birthday. I chose this restaurant because it had been recommended by several colleagues and we are always up for trying new places. Great décor and atmosphere for a dining experience but that quickly faded as time went on. Our waiter(Chad) was pleasant but incredibly slow with coffee and taking our order. In fact, we had a few different waitresses stop by to fill in the wide gaps of time where our waiter was no where to be seen. All said and done it took approx 50 min to an hour for our food to come once we sat down. Unacceptable. The food was good/ok, I recommend the brunch burger personally. The redeeming factor of the experience and the only reason I am giving 2 stars, was Abby. For whatever reason, she was waiting on the party behind our table but not ours. She was excellent! Not only did she do a phenomenal job with the her tables throughout the restaurant and even came to check on us a few times to make sure we had what we needed. I would bet the farm that she made mention to the manager of our experience which led to the drinks being taken off our bill. As you can imagine, we were all quite jealous of the party behind us who had a completely different experience than ours due to Awesome Abby. If you decide to come to this restaurant, I recommend you get seated in Abby’s section! Not only does she clearly have pull in the kitchen as every table she waited on seemed to have their food in a timely manner but she is the reason why we the consumers of the world, choose to leave our home to dine out. We will be back for her.

Food was good, above average for the most part. Crab Cakes were outstanding, lemon aioli sauce was an odd choice, would’ve preferred traditional tartar. Atmosphere is unique, average beer and wine selection, nothing special on tap. Overall, would recommend to anyone to try at least once.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to dining here while we were staying at the hotel because it looked like the restaurant had a lot of character and a cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were seated in a small room off to the side, which was less than exciting(I recommend asking to be seated in the main area near the bar). The food was okay, definitely overpriced. I had the roasted chicken, and my boyfriend had the meatloaf. We sat at the bar after we finished dinner, and we enjoyed that. The atmosphere was very different at the bar and a lot of fun. There was some locals, couples on weekend getaways and a group of women celebrating a birthday.

Décor is amazing. Nice selection of beer on tap. However the food was overpriced. My girlfriend had the roasted chicken and it’s was very chewy. And I had the meatloaf which tasted like it was microwaved. Next time I’d just stick to drinks at this place!

I have only been here for lunch and a seminar. Seems clean and nice enough, will be able to better review when I have a dinner.

What a great way to spend our NYE date night! Cork & Cap did have a pre-fixed menu, but the choices were delicious! Candy Cane Martini was on so delicious. The perfect holiday cocktail. Mint pieces, peppermint schnapps, and cream made this drink perfect. The lobster bisque was on point. Creamy, just enough salt, and large pieces of lobster! Definitely an appetizer I would order again. My fiancé‘ ordered the Caesar salad. The dressing was peppery and light, definitely not too heavy. I ordered the filet. One of the best steaks I have ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked(medium). The mashed potatoes were so creamy and the green beans were crisp. The sauce on the filet, sort of a demi glacé, was to die for! Scallops weren’t too big or small and broiled to perfection. They were like butter. I was a little disappointed with the dessert I ordered. The crêpe‘ was not filled with anything, which made it sort of like an empty tortilla shell. The sauce and berries on the outside were sweet and delicious though. The atmosphere is upscale and definitely a place to go for a great date night or night out on the town :)

This was our third time here, first visit in 2013 was phenomenal, 2nd in 2014 was awful service and subpar food. Tried for the third and last time December 2015 hoping it had returned to its previous 2013 glory, but was sorely disappointed. Sat us in the bar when there was plenty of dining seating, bartender was acting as the server for 4 tables and the whole bar, took an hour to get a cheese plate and basic entrees. Food was lacking in flavor after taking 45 minutes to get. Was not asked once how everything was. Service is awful and food is mediocre. Do not recommend.

I had lunch there last Thursday 8÷20÷15 and the good was very good but the service was not too good. The hostess was nasty. We had the meatloaf sandwich and the tenderloin tips. Both were delicious. We also had the broccoli cheddar soup and it was tasty but they brought it with our meal. After eating the soup out main lunch items were cold. I said something to the waitress and she when it is an add on they come together. I said«that isn’t very smart».

I went here with a work group while In Lancaster for the special dinner of the trip. Cork and Cap is a neat restaurant tucked back in a nice hotel complex. It was a bit complicated to find but once I did, we enjoyed the atmosphere and local flare that the place epitomized. The first thing I noticed was the beer selection. All of their tap options are local craft beers which made it fun for me. We started with some appetizers and the hit(for me) was the portobello, walnut, and goat cheese strudel. It was a unique little pasty wrap with an amazing filling and flavor over a spicy remoulade-esque sauce. I would definitely get these again! The menu absolutely had a local flare about it. I’m from Tennessee and you really don’t find beet salad and duck breast on the menus very often down south. I tried the crispy skin duck breast as my entrée and had a small beet salad before that. All of this was quite good, although I thought the duck breast itself could have used a bit more flavor and the veggies weren’t very thoughtful. I would try something else if I went there again. Pros: They had some great touches on the menu and everything was nice, thoughtful, and flavorful with what I can only assume are PA Dutch influences sprinkled throughout Cons: My only qualms were that I thought the shrimp cocktail and duck breast could have had a bit more flavor. These are two easy dishes to build major flavor in and I thought they were average. The skin on the duck breast entrée did step up the flavor, though. Overall: Awesome local flair at this nice spot inside the Cork Factory Hotel complex. It really makes you feel some of the impact of local culture on the cuisine and beer options available.

3 stars for appearance and EXTREMELY clean bathrooms!!! But Didn’t eat lunch here because the menu offered was only a brunch — with not a very good selection to choose from, Especially with children in our party. Also a bit pricey. The hostess was very curt and not welcoming at all — so we went around the corner to the Lancaster Brewing Co and had an amazing lunch!!! With great beer! We were staying at the Cork Factory Hotel so it would have been nice to have had the other restaurant work out for us! Oh well!

So we didn’t eat in the restaurant we ate in the bar because the staff in the bar is just pure entertainment! Very knowledgeable about their drink and helpful with food selections. After 3 days of stay at the hotel there isn’t a bad thing to say. Drinks-tastey. Chicken and waffle soup? Yeah hello! Brisket and gnocchi? Delightful! Meatloaf with Mac and cheese? Yes please! Flatbread with fresh mozzarella and pepperoni? Don’t mind if we do! The deserts come from the bakers table and are delish. So we’re leaving a few lbs heavier but that’s what treadmills are for ;). Go here — thank me later.

Three star meal. Two star service. So. We were staying at The Cork Factory Hotel for my 30th birthday. we wanted to go to the Iron Hill Brewery, however they had a 45 minute wait, for three people. It’s Friday night, so I wasn’t surprised. We chose the Cork and Cap restaurant as a last minute decision, we were on a time crunch, and had to be back at the lobby for our cab at 7:30pm. First off. We asked for a seat in the bar. The hostess(who was mildly rude) told us that there were«50 people „smashed“ in there right now» so we were going to walk away mainly because we didn’t want to wait 45 minutes. THANKFULLY, another woman walked up and promptly explained to the hostess that she could rearrange the reservations, and we could be seated immediately. Well gee. Thanks. So. We were seated. The place was swanky and modern, but incredibly loud. So loud in fact I was having a hard time hearing the two other people at my table. The bar(which we were told was PACKED) was not. I could easily see 6 – 7 tables empty. Which for obvious reasons really annoyed me) The waiter came over, told us the specials, we ordered drinks. Then waited 15 minutes for said drinks. I also thought that I made it clear we wanted the steam clams as the appetizer. Apparently he was distracted and didn’t hear me? So we waited another 10 minutes and finally got to order. The manager was awkwardly standing by our table as our waiter was taking our order. Then he actually interrupted him, asking him some question that clearly couldn’t wait. That was a first. Overall. It was a displeasing experience. I don’t plan on returning.

We had eaten brunch here on Mother’s Day a couple of years ago and found the food to be very good. On a whim we decided to stop on a Saturday evening and were seated right away I had the pan seared diver scallops appetizer and a small Caesar salad, which was very filling and quite good. My wife had the chicken and fig Marsala and mixed vegetables, both of which were excellent. The service was very good, at least three other people, besides our wait person, brought rolls, water, our food and refills. We were seated in an area off the side of the bar, with most of the tables occupied, and had no problem hearing each other speak. We were both very happy with our choice, but I would advise that you make a reservation to insure a table.

I would say 4 stars but I came when almost no one was here and my food took wayyyyyyyy too long to get here. The food tho was really delicious. I had the meatloaf which when it appeared I was like oh that’s it? Ok. But then I ate it and proceeded to stuff it all in my face in like 2 mins. So I recommend getting the meat loaf. What I can’t say I recommend? The Crab Bisque. It was way way too salty. But if salt is your thing, go for it.

2.5 stars. had a bad customer service experience. didnt get the feeling that the waitstaff cared. food was just okay… if not a little disappointing esp for the price. chicken and waffle soup… was just chicken soup with two cracker sized ‘waffles’. another soup came with prepacked pepperidge farm crackers. i liked the scallop appetizer. thought that was worth the price. but the duck… was not flavorful and paired with an overly sweet side. the compote was way too sweet and over powering. the orange flavored starch(i forget what it was) was overpowering as well. and peas as a side /seasonal veggie… that was quite disappointing. the tiramisu tasted good. but was disappointingly served in a small mug. oh and their bone in steak was SMOTHERED in some sauce… that just took away from the steak… which was also just okay. :oP the place had a very odd mixed crowd to it. there was a wedding upstairs. and 2 rehearsal dinners. and of course attached to the hotel. but i guess if the food was and service was better that wouldnt matter.

Excellent Tuesday night dinner here.. Scallop appetizer to die for! Wish it came as a dinner. Sizzling hot with just the right spice blend, a bit of a zing but not overpowering. My companion and I shared this and the mussels with chorizo appetizer, also quite tasty I ordered the seafood special, sauteed skate with sunchoke purée, heirloom fingerling potatoes mmmmm and wild mushrooms. A dance of flavors and textures, earthy yet light, a real party for the palate! My partner had the crispy duck breast, which was perfectly cooked«slightly under medium on the rare side.» It came on a bed of quinoa with a few plump sour cherries and demi-glacé. It was delicious as well, but should’ve been hotter – in contrast to my dinner, was nice and hot. We enjoyed a leisurely meal, accompanied by a pint of the house microbrew on tap, brewed specially by Spring House Brewing Co. We ate almost every atom of deliciousness, and had no room for dessert. Jennifer, our server was terrific – attentive, friendly, and informed. In summary, a nice place for locals and visitors, a creative chef, great atmosphere, fresh locsl flavors, and lovely service. We’ll be back!
