I am of huge fan of HomeGoods and Tj Maxx which is their partner stores. Marshalls though is somewhat disappointing. They don’t have a great variety of anything in the domestics department. They lack home décor where the other two stores are filled with cute things for your home/apartment. The clothing selection isn’t that great either. They do have a great return policy though I will give them that.

I don’t frequent Marshall’s because I’m not a fan of haphazardly placed items(I’m okay with thrift stores). I need some order here and there, not just at the checkout. I only care for the Hempz lotion they sell, but even then I can get it for cheaper on Amazon. They had a pretty good sized selection of Hempz, so I was pleased with that aspect. Age Defying, Original. Asian Pear, Citrus, Pomegranate. It was nice. I ended up not getting the lotion, though. lol $ 12.99 is a steal for it, but I can get it $ 9 a bottle online. I did leave with a fitness bag for my mom, a cosmetic bag for me, and chips for me and my co-worker for $ 23. Not too shabby. Anyway. The store would have received a better score if it weren’t for a certain associate whose name begins with«N.» We had some bags in our hands and wanted to know if we should leave them at the front or what. We asked very nicely and she had the nastiest, rudest, and completely unnecessary attitude. «You have to get on line.» I wish I could add some inflection to this sentence just so you could hear the condescending tone in her voice. We got in line, gave her our bags, and went to shopping. She wouldn’t even look at us when we were checking out. How embarrassed can you be? We could understand if she had misheard us. An apology would have sufficed, but nope. Nada. Just a stank face. Thanks for ruining our visit, miss. We really appreciated it.

In principle, I like Marshall’s. The idea of digging through racks of random clothing searching for a great deal is ok with me. I like the idea that discontinued stuff is marked down. I’m not such a fashion hound that something being a season or two old is a big handicap for me. But it’s the reality of Marshall’s which is much more daunting. First and foremost, you lot, the customers. You are, for the most part, barbarians. You were not brought up properly. There’s no reason to see piles of clothing thrown on the floor. Piles of clothing draped over racks or just tossed into a corner. I’m not saying that it’s your responsibility to merchandise the store for Marshall’s but wow, could you at least be civilized. Second, Marshall’s, you used to be pretty straightforward in your pricing but I’ve noticed a creep upwards on the better brand remainders you’re selling. That’s not you. If I want to buy a fifty dollar shirt I’ll go someplace where diapers are not changed in the aisles. Stay true to who you are. You sell discontinued stuff cheap. If that doesn’t work then, oh well. In the end, Marshall’s, at its best is sort of an adventure. All too frequently, at this location, it’s like visiting a football stadium restroom on half-price beer day. It may be necessary but it ain’t pretty or fun.

Whenever I am looking for a new dress or shoes or just want to browse in store where I wont have to pay $ 50+ just for a couple of tank tops … I come to Marshalls They have Shoes, bags, pajamas, bathing suits, undies, home goods, beauty supplies … and more. There are soo many good finds here at the Lancaster location, specially for the ladies. I love that I find really good quality name brands here for super cheap! For example, the brand Cosabella, really nice Italian made underwear … I found for $ 3(no defects, normall costs $ 20+ in a normal store) NICE !!! The other day I found PACIFICA brand lotions for $ 4 I was actually thinking of buying this brand at Sephora for much more … This is one of the stores that I HAVETO keep track of time, because I could be in here for HOURS and when I look at my watch, I think … how is it possible I was in here for two hours, it felt like 30 minutes ! Also … make sure you thoroughly inspect your garment or item … I have found defects in the clothes. Yesterday I finally found the dress I wanted in my size, only to find that the one size small that they had in stock, had a huge dark spot on the front;(I also check the expiration dates on all the beauty products and test it a little to make sure the consistency is still decent. Although they do have a nice return policy … I really do love this place !
