Lowe’s Companies

I would have given this store zero stars or even negative stars if that was possible. My review wouldn’t post unless I put one star.
My husband and I went to Lowe’s to buy everything for a kitchen remodel — appliances, flooring, cabinets, countertops, etc. A builder we had gotten an estimate from recommended a person in the kitchen design area to help us with our choices. We had everything designed the way we wanted it, all the cabinets picked out, even faucets and handles. We asked the design person to give us a final price, and she asked us if our builder was purchasing everything, or if we were. We said we hadn’t decided yet, that we were still getting estimates from other builders. She said she would send us a packet with all the prices. After over a week, no packet arrived.
My husband went to Home Depot and The Andersons to price compare. We found that Home Depot beat Lowe’s price for cabinets. We contacted the lady at Lowe’s, told her that Home Depot was cheaper, but we would like to stay with Lowe’s since it was so close to our home and we had already picked everything out there. We asked if they would match the price.
The designer told us that this was not going to make our builder happy. We responded that it had nothing to do with our builder, we were buying cabinets from Lowe’s, not our builder. We came to an agreement on the price. She said she had to run it by her manager and would call us later in the day. She did call later and said Lowe’s would sell us the products for the agreed upon price, and could we come in in the morning to make the purchase.
The next morning as we were walking out the door, an assistant manager from Lowe’s called and said that the builder had called and was mad because they had undercut his bid. He said they would not sell us the cabinets now at the agreed upon price, that if we wanted to buy cabinets, we had to buy them from the builder. What?!
That day we went to Home Depot and bought everything from them. We will never buy anything from Lowe’s again.

Asked Ken in Appliances to treat me like a sister, but hoo-​boy. Asked that everything be put on truck for dryer install, would pay for that and extended warranty, just wanted no problems on install day. Josh driver, tells me that it is an every day occurrance-​truck not stocked, and Ken is worst salesman…2^nd delivery guys said same thing! I must call mgr to maybe get them back out. They took old dryer (wit pedestal, which was not to be taken), tried to MAKE ME sign paper saying all ok, must sign, they said, and no no copy for me. If I want to document their late arrival, I can take a photo. Told all to John Gordon, but second truck is a rental (truck broke down) and it has, nothing, but could I sign same paper saying all is ok? Because I cannot sign such a thing, they have to take the dryer with them, so back on the Penske truck it goes, frowny face. Third time, I am hot. Jen, store mgr, says my dryer will be delivered on the back porch with a POLICE ESCORT coz I was mad the truck, promised at 8:30-if I waited an extra day– came at 11:30, [and husband hooked it up???] Deputy told me he scolded the driver, telling them this is not what cops are for, but there was a police car in my driveway just the same. SO embarrassing. Never once was I anything but professional, but they need a scapegoat, so ME who gave them hunderds, is now being punished for wanting to buy a dryer, and get it hooked up! I had called the store, AND an 800 number to say thanks to John Gordon, appliance dept mgr, and boy am I sorry he now gets a pin, and a compliment, over this fiasco! Jen was so very antagonistic, argumentative, rude, not informed, and condescending!!!

Nice Lowe’s. Friendly staff! Much like Home Depot, this was a normal Lowe’s with all the fixings. The Home and Garden section is where we spent the most time, and it was very nice!
I give this ⁴⁄₅ stars.

Reasonable prices, helpful staff. Had a new washing machine delivered for free the next day. The delivery crew was top notch in being friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable… was helped in several departments by several different employees. Was greeted several times by other employees while browsing.

Slow wandering staff. But friendly.
