I want to preface this strongly by saying the individual stylist was friendly, helpful and professional. I personally do not want this to be a reflection on her at all. I feel it is more how the salon is in general, not her fault. However, I will NOT be returning to this type salon again — ever — any location. I am very disappointed in my overall experience and the cut I ended up with. I called Thurs 7⁄3 to confirm this salon would be open Friday the 4th since it was a holiday. I was told yes. I inquired if I would be able to also have my eyebrows done. I was given an affirmative answer and told just to let the stylist know when I arrived what I needed done. I had a terrible time finding ANY place open on the 4th(holiday) but it happened to be the ONLY day I had off from MY two current jobs and I desperately wanted to get this done that day. I got there when they opened at around 10 am 7⁄4. I expected to be able get«the works»(cut, style, color plus waxing of upper lip and brows). Sadly apparently only ONESTYLIST was on duty that day. I don’t know if later in the day someone else would be there. I was not told one way or the other. I asked about the eyebrow waxing and the ONE stylist there said she WOULDNOT be able to do that. I didn’t even bother with asking about the color then as I figured she would be too pressed for time being the only one running the place. Against better judgement, I went ahead with the haircut. I am sorry I just didn’t walk out now. I found a picture in their style book that I LOVED and showed her that cut and style. She didn’t refer to it much at all after just a glance. She did cut my hair evenly and well, but very very layered(totally unlike the picture) and not at all what I expressed I wanted/expected. I was not asked if I wanted it styled at all and felt somewhat rushed out with wet hair after the cut. So I am not feeling good about how my hair looks now ATALL despite polite reactions from family and friends. I am job hunting and wanted a very chic, professional look for interviews which WASNOTATALL what I feel I walked out with. I guess the life lessons here are you get what you pay for and don’t try to accomplish something like this on a holiday. This shop is a step up from Great Clips but just barely. Now I am faced with two choices essentially: Grow the overlayered cut out over a very prolonged time or make an appointment with a much better(albeit more expensive) salon to try and fix it(but don’t think there is much they will be able to do). If the salon was going to be open the holiday, it should have been staffed well enough to accommodate whatever a customer wanted. Not just one hurried stylist on duty. Also, a stylist needs to listen to the customer and give them what they want, especially when they are shown a specific picture.
