Customer service is terrible. I came here and got a few things. One of them being a ruler. After walking up and down all the aisles and not finding any I asked an employee who responded with«uhhh.» and mumbled«I think they’re usually down this way.» I followed assuming he would lead me to them but he was just as lost as I was. He eventually pointed me to an end cap of clearance items which happened to have a bucket of cheap rulers. I then went up to the register and the cashier was not able to find a sku on the ruler. He stared at it and then stated«there’s no price on this.» …oookay. I say«It’s $ 1.99»(which in retrospect is too much for a cheap plastic ruler that would have been 50 cents anywhere else.) to which he says«Yeah, I believe you, I need something to scan though.» After him looking back and forth at the ruler and me and realizing that he had no intention of doing anything about it I ask«should I get another?» to which he responds«uh, sure, if you want to.» Well, I don’t but you nor the other employee standing there not doing anything don’t seem to plan on doing anything. So I walk all the way to the back end of the store, grab one with a tag and go back to the register. walk directly over to the left side of the counter, opposite where the line usually starts as we were in the middle of a transaction. I find that not only has he cancelled the transaction he started with me, but he has now started ringing up a woman who is buying a cart full of items compared to my three. I stay where I am at the opposite end of the line since he still has the other two items I was getting sitting there. At this point several other people get in line and the employee who was just standing there before says that he will help the next person in line. The first employee gestures in my direction to indicate that I had been there first I assume, I attempt to walk over to the next register but he goes ahead and starts ringing up the next person instead. I am forced to go all the way to the back of the line and wait for 5 other people to be rung up before I can purchase my items all because I offered to go grab another ruler since none of them would do it themselves much less call another person on the floor to get another one. It was their fault it was not labeled with a sku to begin with. Will not be going back to this location despite it being very close to my house.

If you need copies in less 4 hours, go somewhere else. It takes them longer to write up the order than make the damn copies.

I actually use the impress at this officemax a lot for work and I’ve had some really great experiences with David(and not so great with some others…) We send him a proof, he gets right on it, and typically has the job done within a few hours — even when I submit frantically last minute. I can totally understand the design student, who’s paying for their own stuff, getting pissed about a bad print job, but they seem reasonable enough… Why not talk to them about it? I just know I’ve sent them stuff in a real pinch and they’ve done very well 9 out of 10 times.

Hey design students(or other design-minded people printing small projects) skip this place! As a former design student myself, I know how difficult it can be to get that finished product printed out with the level of quality that you envisioned for your final project, but believe me you won’t find it at this office max! For the record mr. wannabe printshop attendant, you definitely SHOULDN’T rasterize my PDF at 72 dpi and then manually adjust the brightness because ‘the greys look too dark’ uhhh. ok. anyhow, skip it. /rant
