I went here for the first time last night because I heard they have a separate vegan menu. They sure do, and the food was great. As a vegan, there is always a little bit of hesitancy with Asian restaurants because of the language barrier and because of hidden ingredients like fish sauce and oyster sauce. I can’t say that I didn’t feel that hesitancy here… the«vegan» menu actually says«vegetarian menu,» however many of items on that menu use the word vegan in the description, ie. «special vegan sauce» or «vegan Thai soup.» I believe the waitress was telling me(language barrier) that everything on the vegan menu is also on the regular menu, and most of the non-vegan items can be made vegan upon request. There was one thing that was a little off-putting — I ordered off of the vegan menu, and asked for a vegan version of Thai’s Garden, and the waitress asked me what kind of meat I wanted. It made me question if she/they really understand what vegan means, but I’m willing to chalk it up to force of habit. I will definitely visit this place again, and see if I can get a better feel for whether or not they really understand what vegan means.

Tucked away little spot in Lakewood. Great service. I go here specifically for the Saigon Crêpe!

Overhearing Vietnamese, I passed on the Thai food I was searching for, assuming Vietnamese people make better Vietnamese food than Thai food. I ordered the hu tieu for the rainy day, and was a little disappointed. The proportion was huge; they only have size large and the food lost its appeal half way through due to its size. I had to ask for the rest to go. Maybe I should have ordered something else.

Don’t go here expecting Thai food. You will be disappointed. After trying several Thai places in the area, I ordered one of the Thai noodle dishes and it was honestly bad. The meat was dry and there was almost no sauce on the dish. It didn’t seem like thai food at all. If you’re looking for Thai I recommend Galanga Thai in Tacoma or Thong Thai(note: it’s a hole in the wall) in Lakewood. 3 stars because their Vietnamese food may be good, and I didn’t have any major issues with the service.

I disagree with some people that say that the restaurant leans more toward Vietnamese. The menu leans more toward Thai food. The only Vietnamese is the Phở and a few main dishes. There are not a lot of choices. Usually Vietnamese places offer vermicelli bowls and combo rice plates(grilled chicken, pork chop, shrimp). This place doesn’t have that. It has mostly Thai dishes, some Vietnamese and some Chinese. Food– Tom Yum Soup was ordered spicy and it was. It came out piping hot temperature wise and that was a plus. The negative was that the flavor of spice overpowered all the good flavors like lemongrass. Also, the soup was very greasy with a film of oil(maybe from chili oil?). Phở had no options just chicken beef or seafood(?). I could not get rare steak like usual. The Phở came with all the usual veggies and the beef was already cooked. Thicker than I like but it was tender. The broth was good. Fresh Spring rolls were standard. Chicken satay was not my fave. Lacked flavor and reminded me of fake chicken meat, like chicken nuggets. I was slightly disappointed with Vietnamese options but next time I will try their Thai noodle dishes and curry.

Food can hot and super fast. Everyone in the group absolutely loved what they got. My 4 yr old got after it too. Not truly Thai hot thought so if your looking for Thai hot level up a lot. Panang delicious, saté was wonderful too. The wontons where more wonton flakey than crispy but kids loved them anyway. Adult portion should be shared for children, especially fried rice 1 for 3 kids. We took a gamble, 3.5 over all not sure why. It was amazing and a Saturday night too!!!

False advertisement about vietnamese and thai food. They cook more towards vietnamese style more than anything. I did not taste the authenticity of the traditional pad Thai dish. I do feel like it is a bit pricey too.

The food here is awesome! Love the curry so good. We also tried the Phad Thai delicious and the Saigon crêpe so good. We were in food taste heaven. My daughter had never had Vietnamese food before and asked us to find a place. Unilocal helped of course and am so glad we decided on this one. Nice experience for some one who never tried it before keeping her standards high!

Good service, plain tasting food. They cool their pad Thai noodles separately from their meats. So your meat is 2 stars spicy but youI noodles is like 5 star! I had lemon grass chicken but there were no flavor or lemon grass. Just chicken and mushrooms. Good portion food. But I wouldn’t recommend going there.

Beef skewers were incredible. Thai options were OK. Meat and vegan options aplenty. Would go back and eat all the Vietnamese options. Packed for lunch on a weekday. Great escape from the cold and rain.

I have been coming here for years with great satisfaction. The last two visits my wife and I both notices there was a change in the quality and quantity of the food. I am wondering if they have a new chief. This concerns me as it is one of our favorite places to eat. Update: Decided to give in one more chance. Both my wife and I, long time patrons, have decided to move on. The food is just not the quality it has been known for.

Delicious food for sure. Only reason why I gave 2 stars is because of the male server not having good customer service ATALL. Not generous or friendly, and served me a cup of water with lip stick stain on it! How do you not check the cups before you serve??? Only getting take out from this store if I desire it.

I had my daughter ordered today because I do not have a voice due to a really bad cold. She was standing next to me when she ordered, and I even heard the guy repeat the order to her. My boyfriend went by to pick it up for me. First, there was no shrimp in my pineapple fried rice when I had asked for all the meat. Second, they forgot my lemon grass chicken, which my daughter said first when she ordered. Third, the ‘guys’ gave my boyfriend a hard time saying that there was no ticket or receipt. Fortunately, the ladies was trying to make it right but the men was trying to screw him over. Never coming to this place again. If you want good lemon grass chicken, go to Lemon Grass in Lacey. Really good service, food is delicious and the place looks great!

The worst Thai I’ve ever had and I eat Thai often. Spring rolls were bland and fell apart. The peanut sauce didn’t even taste like peanut sauce and was watery. The green curry didn’t even taste like it had coconut milk in it and was gritty and boring and strange. The chap che noodles were also bland and tasteless. Very disappointing and was very hard to pay the tab of $ 52 for such awful food.

Your standard East Asian restaurant with few decorations on the wall, now with vegan options! While I always love a place where friends can go to grab a bite and not be distracted by copious amounts of wall art; I’m always a little leery at first. However, the separate, all vegan menu… now that really got a brother excited. Everything sounded so mouthwatering! The non-vegan menu looks pretty darn tasty too, but you know how these things can get. Now, onto the real deal; the food. Two words… yum-o(is that two words?). Man, this place was to die. The food comes out just as quickly as you’d hope and if I ever go back, I don’t even know if I’ll be able to wait! Such an eclectic mix of delicious flavors that really lends itself to splitting with a friend(or a group), so that you can get a few bites of everything. If I’m ever back in the area and I’ve got a hankering for some quick, tasty and distractionless food; you can bet your bottom dollar I will be bursting through the doors of Long Beach Café.

I came here with a vegan friend(I had no idea that they had vegan food!). I personally love a good Panang Beef curry, but I haven’t found a great Thai place. The menu is varied, it’s got Thai & Vietnamese food. I’m going to have to try more dishes here.
