Been here twice now and it is a solid sandwich shop. Plus the owners are super nice, which I think adds to it

I am always looking for a «go-to» sandwich place and this one is a bonus! Less than a mile from work! I have been coming here for about a year and love it! The bread is awesome and the cheese is sliced thin. It’s a little spendy but so much better than subway! I’d much rather give these hard working people my money anyway! :)

This place is fantastic. 5* considering its in lakewood. The second best sandwich pace in Pierce County. It’s lakewoods version of MSM. Cheesy British reminds me of Mike’s deluxe w diff bread. Thats high praise.

This is as close to the original Cheesy British as it gets. The meat and veggies aren’t rolled like Hoagies Corner, but the flavor is there and it brings back great memories. I’ve been coming here for 15 years. This is a family run hidden gem. Only open M-F 9 – 6 so plan ahead as it does get crowded during lunch.

Good sandwich and really nice and fast service. All ingredients were fresh and the bread to contents ratio was good. I had a throwback Cheesy British and am looking forward to trying some of the others; they seem to be doing things right. I only gave 4 of 5 because I have had only the one sandwich. I will update to 5 stars once I have a couple more wins.

Good solid sandwich. Nothing special or over the top, but very satisfying and tasty. I recommend the Smokey Turkey on white with everything, cold. The place is clean and the service is friendly, the owner puts care into his business. Call ahead if you’re in a hurry!

This is one of the last sandwich spots in the Tacoma/Lakewood area that hasn’t been ran out by the big mega corps. The Cheesy British they offer is an old school staple and I’m not sure you can get it anywhere else in the 253. Their French Dip is also money earnin’ Mt Vernon, which means excellent if you aren’t Heavy D. Egg, tuna, and chicken salad pieces all hit the mark. And the breakfast sandwiches you can get at any time are also pretty good as well. On top of that, the owner and his family who staff it are super good folks. You will like what you get here. Trust me.

Love this place! Fantastic subs! It gets busy at lunch so get there by 11:30AM if you can. Mom and pop(and son) which I prefer to support over the chain places. Bread is always FRESH. Smokey turkey special is consistently great! No drive through, so park, come in and have a seat and enjoy your lunch. Forget the nearby subway and other sammich places. They are tasteless compared to what you get here. I suggest leaving a nice tip. Running a small business is tough so help them out all you can so they stay in business.

This place knows how to rock a sandy! I have been coming here since moving back to Lakewood. They are a small shop that services a lot of military and it shows. Pros: Price Speed Accuracy Quiet atmosphere Cons: Avoid the onions! Everytime I get onions on my sandwich I get sick. When I don’t I am in heaven. Might just be me but had 2 friends say the same. This place is spotless clean, always. The owner is so friendly and does care about his restauranr. It is fairly prices and a great place to sit down and eat lunch. I highly recommend this place, just hold the tears.

Our family moved to the Lakewood area almost 4 years ago and started to visit Hoagies. It quickly became a permanent replacement for Subway. The sandwiches are fresh, made-to-order and always delicious. We love that it’s a small, local«mom & pop» in our community that we can support. I specifically always order the tuna sub and it is tasty — not like the cat food you get at Subway.
This place has become a staple for our work crew. We come here at least twice a month. The bread is super soft and fresh baked, the family that owns it is amazing and friendly, and I am in love with their chocolate chip cookies. Their sandwiches are great tasting! I only wish they had hard salami instead of cotto and sometimes the wait on food is a little lengthy, but it is only because there are only three people that work there and they are always packed. This is a great hole in the wall joint. You should go!

I’m torn on the rating I want to give. If it is solely off the food I’d give it three stars because it is a perfectly fine sandwich but nothing amazing. I am inclined to give them four stars because the place is small, independent, the owners are nice, and they offer military discounts. To be fair and to reflect the food only, I’ll give them three stars. All their sandwiches have country names and attempt to reflect said names. So the English has more British ingredients, the French has French-like ingredients and so on. I ordered the German and it had German mustard and salami on it. It was good, not great. If I want a true authentic German sandwich I’ll head to the German deli down the road in European Square. The prices are right and are even better with a military discount. To be clear, this is NOT a bad sandwich shop, I just wasn’t blown away by anything.

This is the best(and maybe only) place since«Hoagie’s Corner» restauraunts left town to get a decent Cheesy British sandy. After having lived in Lakewood for over a decade and never having visited this delightful little«hole in the wall», some of my co-workers at JBLM invited me along for lunch. I have been back many times since to get my hoagie fix! Don’t let outward appearances fool you. This place may not look like much from the outside, but then again, who cares what it looks like outside. As a matter of fact, the inside is furnished with simple tables and chairs, and the walls above the windows are adorned with patches of the many local military and first responder civil service units that have discovered this gem and claimed it as their own for lunch. Walking in the door one is engulfed by the welcoming smell of REAL smoked turkey, which is one of their best selling sandwiches. Whether you want your sandwich hot or cold, loaded or naked, this place truly does their craft proud. And like most sandwiches, the thing that sets Hoagie’s Sub Deli’s apart is the bread. Soft. Smooth, This roll is the perfectly compliment to the best hoagie around. NOTE: Unfortunately, Hoagie’s Sub Deli is not open evenings or on weekends. I promise you, though, that it is worth carving out the extra time it may take to get there to make Hoagie’s Sub Deli your new favorite lunch spot.

Always fresh & delicious! I usually always have the egg salad. Last time my husband and I both had the smokey turkey. It was awesome. The small hoagie is actually a large size. Gets busy sometimes. Very pleasant customer service. Sometimes the cook is humming. :)

My husband took me here for my first Cheesy British sandwich he’s been telling me about for over a year. I must say I was very impressed with the owner and how welcoming and friendly he was and took the time to explain the menu to me. The Cheesy British is their most popular he said, It has roast beef, ham and turkey and cheddar cheese in it and the fixings of your choice, all of them if you like. I had them all, lettuce, tomato, mustard… so many I can’t recall them all! Your choice of a wheat or white hoagie. Having lived in California I am used to having a variety of breads to choose from, but just the experience with the owner in itself made it great and I enjoyed my first Cheesy British and we will be going again! My sandwich was delicious, very neatly made and fresh tasting! This place is not open on the weekends, good for them. They must do enough business to be closed on the weekend! There were people coming in as we ate our sandwiches! It was very tidy and clean, décor has a lot of military memorabilia, which was fun to look at.

These sandwiches are fantastic. You order a little differently at this place than you would at subway or another place, which may be confusing at first, but it is very simple. Don’t be afraid to ask the cashier for help. Make sure you stack on the toppings and get a hot sandwich. My personal favorite is the German, followed by the cheesy British. You really can’t go wrong ordering any of them though. Really, the worst part about this place is that they close so early(6pm). Otherwise, these are the best subs around.

What can I say? My family has been coming here for years and we love it! I typically order either a Cheesy British or an egg salad. So yummy! I really love that it is a family run sandwich shop. Their son is learning the business and he is VERY polite and has good customer service skills. I have never been disappointed with a sandwich here and I am glad they are in full swing.

Fairly good sandwich’s here, I would say they beat Subway and Jimmy Johns hands down– and almost on par with Quiznos. the prices were higher then I would like though, but the service was fast and friendly and they have a interesting selection of sandwich’s! I also thought the place was clean and well maintained so I would have no problem coming back here or recommitting this place/
