Carmody Recreation Center & Pool

Oh I how I LOVE MY CRC!!!
Wide variety of ages and no pretentious souls anywhere!
All the staff are sooo friendly. One guard let me use her goggles for my lap swim as mine were on their way out, and recognized me the next time I came to lap swim and said hello! Wow. I have never left the pool without one of the staff wishing me a good day.
The locker rooms are nicely sized with adequate locker and shower space to move around the families you encounter.
As a Lakewood res, my punches are only $ 3/​visit and I can use the whole facility!!! I just come to loyally lap swim as I LOVE their outdoor pool, and they take great effort in offering lap swim all times of day throughout the week.
Never too busy, and stress free which I love!!!
Keep it up CRC, you have a loyal member.

Nice staff, has all the machines I need! :) my boyfriend also enjoys the classes put on and said he’s had great instructors!

Enjoyed the pool. Has an indoor and outdoor pool. Clean women’s locker room. The gym is alittle small. Has alot of activities to offer.

Carmody indoor pool is awesome. It’s huge, it’s clean, and I’ve never had to share a lane. It’s an older crowd, so you won’t run into many gossipy hardbodies here. So if you’re looking for a date, go elsewhere.
I’m a little sad that I wrote this review because I really don’t want share this pool…

If you want to see me get my butt kicked in a workout class with me using five pound plates, struggling on the mat, heaving like Satan himself took my lungs, please, join the fun every Monday night.
They even have surround sound with microphone capability for workout instructors.
For Lakewood, this is a nice recreation center. I’m glad it’s nearby so I have no excuse to put off my New Year’s resolutions from 1995 anymore.

Some rec centers have pools with pirate ships, water slides or rock walls and ice rinks. Carmody rec center has no such frills, and that is exactly why I love it.
Don’t get me wrong, kids are awesome, and I’m so glad there are community spaces where they can play, learn and stay out of trouble. However, most of the time I just want to jump in a pool and do some laps without having to worry about dodging rogue pool toys and worrying about little kids slipping on wet cement.
They just remolded this rec center and it’s great. They have a huge indoor pool as well as a smaller outdoor pool and a kiddy pool outside.
Their workout center is sparse, but all the equipment is new and in good condition. I’ve yet to check out any of their exercise classes but they seem to offer many.
This place is great for swimming laps or practicing diving, they have a ton of open swim and open lap times. The last time I went (admittedly it was the middle of the day), I was the only person in the giant pool.
If you want at great place to get your rec on, but don’t need to hang out in a fun house, check out Carmody pool and rec center.
