Candlewood Suites Lakewood

Been staying here for a few years for drill weekend. Good location for food, close to the base (back gate), and dumped right in to the 512/​I5. Employees are very nice and easy to talk to, free movie rentals, and free laundry. Did I mention the kitchen???

Clean rooms, great staff what else can you ask for? Have stayed here about 6 times now. Never a problem with our dogs, always stocked pantry for middle of the night candy bar or ice cream cravings. I love the fact that they give us the same room every visit, the staff are quiet during the day and are always welcoming. With as much as we travel this place almost feels like home.

DH and I love Candlewood Suites! They are one of the few that allowed our 2 large dogs, but we stayed there for a few weeks (just moved here and couldn’t find lodging) and the manager didn’t like us much towards the end. He pretty much hinted he wanted us to leave! We were quiet, picked up our dogs poop and was no way bothersome. I would of gave them 4 stars, but they lost a star because of the manager.

For what it is — this is a really nice, comfortable and clean hotel. We recently stayed here during the big winter storm — in which we lost electricity at our home.
We were able to get 2 rooms — both with 2 queen beds. We used hotel points to «pay» for the rooms — and had no problems with that.
The rooms were pretty standard. Since the hotel is newer, the rooms are really nice — not trashed yet! They have a small kitchenette area with microwave, stove top, sink and big refrigerator/​freezer. There’s also a little desk area to work at. The bathrooms are standard — but very clean and new feeling (nice!).
The beds are very comfortable (on the firmer side of things) — and very clean!!!
The TVs are on the smaller side, but worked great. We also were able to check out movies for the kids (and the adults) easily from the front desk — they had quite a nice selection.
The staff was great — very helpful in recommending everything from food selections to movies. there is an exercise room that looked well stocked (I didn’t use it). As well as a small store-​type area where you could buy snacks.
This is a great place to crash if you are near the bases and need a clean (non drug or hooker … and if you are in the area, you know what I’m talking about!) and safe place to stay!!!
