Staff eating entrees at the barsandd in the dining areas between tables. That’s done out of sight. Kind of a ticky tacky complaint but you don’t do that whatsoever.

If you are traveling and looking for a place to eat in Lakewood, Co today … look somewhere else! I literally could have eaten better at Wahoo’s, Chipotle or maybe even another placed that had salads which was down the street or at least headed into Denver. Today I stopped in after my flight from Denver to grab something light to eat quickly since it was quite late in the afternoon and near my hotel. Their website/menu did not work on my phone, nor could I view it on my computer. There is nothing in Lakewood, Co … but this place had 4 stars so I figured why not? My server was pleasant enough at the bar. Nice atmosphere. There really was no one in the restaurant/bar. There was however some Indian guy that was at the bar on the phone talking about his boat which was pretty annoying and unprofessional. Even if it was not about his boat the fact that it was personal call in front was pretty unprofessional. There were 2 girls that I could not decipher if they worked at the restaurant or were just doing business … pretty annoying as well and since they never ordered anything I am guessing they worked there. Bartender really did not advise much on any appetizers with much enthusiasm … but when I asked about the clams, he told me they were good, so I took a chance. He asked if I wanted bread and when I asked him what kind … he told me Focaccia and breadsticks. Since I did not really want to fill up on bread I asked for the breadsticks only. They were good. To be honest … that was the only thing that was good. It all went downhill from there. I ordered the clams with onions, some type of parsley aioli and sweet corn. What I got was nothing described on the menu but rather clams in some type of creole broth, ham and clams. To be honest, the corn looked as if it had been frozen(or overcooked) and the pearl onions looked as if they came from a jar. Although the taste was slightly off and clams slightly overdone … I was so hungry I decided to just eat the clams not make a fuss and head to my hotel. Big mistake. As soon as I took off to drive away, I was literally having the worse indigestion and the next thing I knew I threw up 3 times at my hotel room. Total cost for clams: $ 14. with tax … $ 15.05 and with tip $ 18.05. I remember the bartender asking me if I wanted to order anything else and because I was not impressed I did not … thankfully I didn’t because maybe I could of been more ill. Will not be returning this work trip.

Awesome food. Great value for a very nice restaurant. Upscale atmosphere good for business meetings. Plates aren’t huge but aren’t small. The food is great and presentation us very nice. Was very surprised at the pricing. Much lower than I expected.

A very nice restaurant in Lakewood. Pretty close to the Sheraton– within walking distance. We decided to go local and stay close to home. Let’s get down to the food. I had the steak. It’s very good and tender. No need for sauce and whatnots. I will have this again. The beet salad was fresh and really good. Their Ceasar salad comes with my favorite anchovies! My cocktail the Old Pal was stiff. So this place feels a bit local but also feels like you need to dress up a bit. Most patrons didn’t :( I feel that I need to go back a few more times and try more of their dishes.

First time there for lunch and no need to go back. I ordered the fish taco special expecting kind of the usual blend of fish and shredded cabbage and veggies with whatever nice twist they might have at a fine place like this. It came out as two fried cod patties on tortillas in a mole– type sauce next to a dab of guacamole on some shredded lettuce. The sauce and/or the cod tasted burnt. Overall it seemed more like a kid’s fried fish stick meal even before the burnt flavor. No nuance or flair. So I asked the manager if I could get something else. When he brought my new entrée to the table, I said, I think this sauce is burnt. He said, «it’s not burnt. You just don’t like it.» Nice attitude for the manager to have. Everyone at my table who heard was very disappointed by his reaction. My new entrée was fine. But hold the snottiness next time.

Best of two on the west side. Hard to beat Sundays prime rib. Halibut is now in season. Hawaiian snapper. And make sure to try the Big Eye Tuna Poke.

Atmosphere was nice, but loud at lunch. Food was quite good and came out quickly. Service was average. Price felt a bit high for what you get, but I’d give the place another try.

My friend Matt and I stopped in for an early dinner and were very happy with the overall experience. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. Our server, Joe was attentive and very helpful. We started with the Calamari and Lobster appetizers. Calamari was tasty and the jalapeños added a nice little bite. The bacon wrapped Lobster was really unique(in a good way). Previously I had the pork chops, so Joe recommended that I try the Lamb Shank. It was amazing! Cooked to perfection and literally fell from the bone, no knife needed. Matt had the swordfish which was grilled to a flaky texture and got a two thumbs up from him. I plan to be back again so. Scallops are my next target…

Have been coming here on and off for many years and have always enjoyed the food. This is a great option for something close to home, which explains why I have continued to come here. Unfortunately, I think if there were other upscale dining options in the area, I might not come by so often. The food is good, but there are very limited vegetarian(including no seafood & fish) options, so that limits what two other members of my family can eat. Over the years, it seems like the service has been slipping. When you spend that much on a meal, you expect special attention from the staff. Lately, I haven’t really felt that extra effort from the service staff. For example, just one stop by the table to check on how the meal was, when three courses were eaten. Overall, a good solid place for a nicer meal, just wish there were some improvements to the vegetarian options and service.

THe WORST!!! Bad response from management in receiving feedback about the food. They gave us a $ 25 meal comp and in the notes wrote«bad food???» with a bunch of question marks, questioning our reasoning. We will probably never use the gift card, how insulting!

Great ambiance, service, food, drinks and wine! What more could you want? My friend is a wine snob and owns a wine store. He quizzed our waitress, which was her first day, and she nailed it. I wish I remembered her name. I did talk to the manager to commend him on this new hire. Everyone was friendly, the food was fabulous(deviled eggs, Capellini and lamb sausage meatballs).

I ordered a medium rare lamb chop and was extremely disappointed when it arrived, very well done. It took quite a while to be served and I didn’t want to wait, so I didn’t say anything to the server. The menu could use some updating and I wish, they had a better option for lobster tail. I can’t imagine wanting mine chicken fried! I asked the server to explain the dish, she said it was just like chicken fried steak but with lobster… Ummmm, yuck?!

We’ve been to 240 numerous times and have always had great experiences. I had the scallops, perfectly cooked and seasoned. We celebrated a friends birthday and there were 8 of us in the group armed with a reservation. Our servers took great care of us and were very attentive to our needs. Everyone was thrilled with their meals and drinks, a good time was had by all. Another pleasant experience at 240, consistently great.

I have never been able to figure this place out. I’ve been here a handful of times, and have enjoyed myself well enough, but that’s about all I can say about it. The food is pretty decent, but nothing special. It fills you up, and does so easily. But for what the place claims to be(refined, more elegant, higher-end), it misses the mark. The staff I’ve had is a bit off as well. Forgetting who ordered what, from drinks to entrees, and then not checking up during the meal. I like this place enough to be taken here if someone else is buying, but if I’m looking for an «elegant» meal in Lakewood, I’m going elsewhere.

This was a great dining experience… I arrived a bit early and got a great seat on the patio as the Colorado sun was setting… one Cubre Libre later, my amazing friend for life arrives and we laughed, talked and damn near cried the rest of the night! Of course, the craft cocktails may have influenced us just a bit! Leslie was our server… next time you see her, ask her what was the highlight of her day! She gave us an amazing answer! Food? I had the Rotisserie Chicken and loved it. it really was done perfectly. After a slight miscue on her Salmon, which was quickly replaced, my amazing friend enjoyed her dinner and we shared a yummy dessert. Mmmmm I will be back!

All of us are on low carb diets and there’s plenty of tasty good food on this menu such as Alaskan cod in fruit gazpacho soup, chicken salad with white beans and salmon with vegetables. The service was helpful and fast without being rushed and everyone enjoyed their meal greatly. We were seated in the outer glassed area so it was quieter and made talk easier.

The service is always great for me. Bar area is great to have a smaller dinner and not break the bank. Make sure to try them in all seasons. They cook what’s in season and the menu always changes.

Excellent. It’s quite a refined place without the«refined» price tag. I enjoyed their trout special with a delicious corn based topping. Everything from their bread is excellent. And it was a good thing, because it was a lunch with clients and my boss. If you’re looking for a good place to take VIPs, this is a great place in Lakewood.

I live right down the street from this restaurant and haven’t been since I moved here back in 2006. I was unbelievably impressed with the menu, the service, and the price. We ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer(heavenly and beautifully plated). My sister had the prime rib(which is only $ 18 on Sunday nights — what a bargain!) and it was cooked to perfection. I had the spinach linguini with clams. Quite a tasty treat! The desserts were beyond tasty and also a work of art. My sister had the chocolate torte(which I, of course, had to try), and I had a rhubarb white cake. It wasn’t only stunning to look at(and it’s a shame I had to ruin the beauty of it by eating it), it was extremely decadent. The mixture of flavors and textures were a real treat to the tastebuds. I will most definitely return to 240 Union over and over again now that I know what I’ve been missing all these years.

I know that this place has been here for ever… A friend that works in the area and i met up for an early dinner. We were seated promptly 1 hour prior to our reservation — no harm no foul — yeah Our waiter was very nice, the gal the filled our water glasses and brought the bread was either having an off day or hated us… not sure why. We started with the deviled eggs as suggested by many reviewers — ew… I’m definitely a deviled egg snob — i make my own and i love my own. These were not fresh and kinda bland. sigh. For the other appetizer we chose the brussel sprouts — there weren’t bad. Main dish — i went with the lamb. It wasn’t bad, the polenta was to die for! Desert we did the home made desert — mmm — cherry bouron — omg! I’ll definitely be back for happy our and the rest of the appetizers in the bar… The décor is definitely upper crust. We were seated in the sun room with a fabulous view of the traffic… Note: it is right off the end of the train line — so it can be a nice day spent taking the train and enjoying suberbia!
