Merry’s Subs

As soon as we walked in the young girl greeted us with a smile and ready to make my sandwich. The place smells good and is super clean. My only problem was deciding what to order. They have so many choices and they even let you build your own sandwich for only $ 6.95. I will definitely be coming here from now for all my sandwich wants.

Best sandwich place in Lakeside or even East County for that matter. Meat is fresh Boars Head. Tons of great bread selections. Tons of great veggies. Great pricing. Also, the cute girls working at the counter are always a plus! Try the California Club and load it up with Veggies and Sprouts… Soo good.

Food itself is great, but the customer service is non existent. These dudes need to stop being so damn rude ’cause there are other deli’s that use Boars Head meats and cheeses and don’t treat you like you’re inconvencing them by choosing to spend your money in their establishment. Sorry, but if you act like that your business will get a bad reputation. Whoever owns or manages this place needs a lesson in business basics and the staff needs training on service basics and at a minimum, civility.

Excellent sandwiches and the staff has always been very friendly to me! I go at least once a week. I’ve tried almost all their sandwiches and I’ve never been disappointed!

Best place ever. I used to go to Subway and Jersey Mikes but this place is way better. Its so good that I eat here about once a week. I get the Ultimate Italian on a white roll. What makes them soo good is that when you eat the sub it has the meat on the outside wrapped around all the greens or toppings, it stops it from falling apart or things falling out. The italian dressing is a great extra too! This place is great. Love it and would recommend.

Have been trying to try this place for a while. Every time we come it’s either closing or closed. Hit the Jackpot today! Great subs, great service, great product.

I have been going to this location since it was Submarina and I still wish it was, but Merry’s has excellent food. Everything about it tastes delicious and I know they only use quality products. Everything always looks fresh and their station is always clean. I’m very impressed and their prices are very reasonable. I’d eat here everyday if I wasn’t driving around so much. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants a delicious sandwich. I wish I could rate 4.5 stars because that’s what it really deserves. They would get 5, but so far I haven’t been attended by anyone that looks like they actually enjoy working there lol. Everyone is friendly, but not welcoming. They almost seemed annoyed, but they’re professional. I strongly encourage the family that owns this establishment to do some customer service training, I can almost guarantee sales would go up.

Soft yummy bread, boar’s head meats/​cheeses, and crispy bacon (my kryptonite). They make a delicious and huge sub. It’s always two meals for me. They are friendly and fast, delivering a sandwich that’s better than any chain by far. Also the ability to call in my order is perfect for when I’m in an even bigger hurry. They have a great selection of chips too, from artisan to standard fare. Whenever I want a sandwich, this is the only place I go.

My boyfriend has brought home sandwiches from here a few times. It hits the spot everytime. Especially if I’m looking to eat something more healthy but don’t feel like cooking.

I have been to this location on multiple occasion, and I just feel like the sandwich are very plain and nothing special. I could make them at home cheaper then it costs in the store.
They are decent sizes and I do leave satisfied, so I do give them that, and they are the friendliest crew.

This was a pretty terrible experience going here to grab lunch for our office. Guy named Ray informs us we need to call ahead next time we have a large order (6 subs) cool I get that. The entire time he’s making our food he’s making comments under his breath about our order while ordering around the rest of the staff pretty rudely. I’m still not that annoyed everyone has bad days.
We check out and leave, get to the office turns out we were missing a sub. Head back to the shop to pick up the sub we didn’t get, didn’t offer to comp us for anything. Usually with this type of stuff I’d be inclined to give it a one star, but the food is actually really good. The customer service needs some attention.

How could anyone go wrong with a sandwich? Well this place did everything wrong! I paid $ 7 for a sandwich I could of made at home! There was hardly any meat in any of the sandwiches that I ordered. Also the customer service there was terrible. All I can say is that I would of liked more meat and less attitude!

Just discovered this place last week and it’s amazing! Everything tastes so fresh and they use only Boar’s Head meats which are the best! Just to give you an idea of how great there sandwiches and service are, I have already been back twice. :-) I recommend the California Club, add Italian dressing and peppers.

Nearly perfect almost every time for a freshly made sub. Love the chipotle chicken on ciabata!

I have gone to Merrys many time and I always get the same thing. A roast beef sandwich on a sub roll and then I ask them to throw it in the oven and let it get super toasted. Every time, I get just that. Today, I go in and I am told they can’t put my sandwich in the oven because it ruins the oven. Really? How? Your a sub shop. If you don’t put subs in the oven when requested, why have an oven? The man in the back came out and said he would do it just this once but let me know it was a HUGE favor. Wow… guess I need to find a new sub shop. Sad, because the quality is very good. Apparently customer service is not important. I won’t go back.

I had the California Club which is really good. Staff not too friendly. They make you feel like your inconveniencing them when you add things to your sandwich.

Excellent sandwich, all fresh evenly proportioned! Definitely recommend the California club! The bacon is so crispy! Would have like a bit more avocado but, very tasty regardless.

Sandwiches made deli style from quality ingredients that in turn make real awesome sandwiches. To there Italian subs to Philly cheesesteaks to there hot pastrami sandwiches. Everything is fresh and made to order.
Using Boars Head meat. Your big sandwich is piled high wrapped in parchment paper and cut in half. A sandwich made by guys who know how to make a sandwich. No, not like Subway. Not that Subway isn’t good but this is another level all together. Right now. This is my go to sandwich place. Totally worth the drive to Lakeside.

Quality staff and even better quality food. During the lunch rush, wait time was only about 5 minutes. And that’s with the line almost through the door. The menus are neat and easy to read, a detail that is often overlooked but is extremely helpful.
Bread is fresh the day of and they serve genuine Boar’s Head meats, which if you don’t know, hold the bar for quality deli meats. Fresh and crisp, the ingredients that go on top of your choice meat is definitely top notch.
Next time I’m in Lakeside, Merry’s will definitely be on my agenda.

I tried the Turkey Jerky special today with spicy turkey, bacon, 3-​colby pepper jack cheese, peppercorn mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and peppercinis. This was excellent on a whole wheat roll. I substituted extra-​virgin olive oil for the mayo, and that turned out great for $ 5.99!
Highly recommended!
