This is the cleanest and nicest rest area I have ever been to. I wish more parks were this nice! Most times I won’t even go to the restroom. It looks like the building is new. They have a few vending units. A nice perk that I saw is that it had 2 bug pet areas(very well marked) it was also very family friendly.

***IMPORTANTNOTE*** This is a Rest Area, not a «guest house» as the category above suggests. ALSO, the address above is incorrect. It’s located ON Interstate-5 with direct Hwy access, it’s not on Lakeshore Drive. * * * * * * * Time for another stop to stretch my legs and let the pupster out to do his thing. LOCATION: On the southbound side of Interstate 5, almost exactly half-way between the cities of Mt Shasta(33.5 miles south of) and Redding(27 miles north of). I think the grounds are really beautiful as rest areas go: LOTS&LOTS of trees! Open as well as covered picnic tables. This is a pretty large rest area, as rest areas go. It also has a very large«pet area» with lots & lots &LOTS of trees for your doggy to go wee-wee on! My pupster was very happy sniffing everything and watering as many of the trees as he could! He kept trying even after he was«empty». ;-) This rest area is a very nice place for the weary traveler to stop, stretch and answer Mother Nature’s call.
