Lakehead Campground & RV Park

Great fun campground. Good wifi in rec room, very reasonable rates. We tried both an electric tent site and a more secluded site in the back. Both were great. Excellent drinking water.

First thing you see is the Green pool. Very dusty campground. Pretty run down. We packed up and stayed in a room in Weed, California.

Would only recommend if your in a bind. Serious potential but the owners need help. Sites well positioned but very littered. No proactive attention to black widows which, owner admitted, nest in the electrical units. Make sure you have a rake. They do not remove webs and small rubbish. Filthy bathroom. Scummy. More than one season of filth on those floors and showers. No bench to sit or place bags. Pets allowed but no pet area as observed by owners who did not pick up after pets. Pool was murky and had not been hosed down in a long time. Very dusty. Park rules not observed or enforced, I, e, no diapers in pool pets on leash. Friendly people, nice recycle and garbage. On site tents were lovely.

We had a great time at Lakehead RV park. The campgrounds are clean and has just about everything you need. We had a large party of about 45 people. We we all able to book our campsites near each other.
For the lazy people like me, we ended up renting a cabin and a RV. They offer (1) RV, (1) Cabin and a few full sized ready tents for rental. All options were very reasonable. It was a great alternative from bringing your own camping equipment and set up.
The RV and Cabin had all the essentials, cable, flat screen TV’s, microwave, AC hot water, bbq, wifi, etc.
The campgrounds itself is a short 10 minute drive to the lake. They offered a decent swimming pool, ping-​pong, basketball, etc. No need to bring your game equipment, they have vollyballs, basketballs, etc. free of charge.
Walking distance to nearby trails for hiking and plenty of area to ride your bikes around the campgrounds. It was super safe and the staff is super friendly.
If you forgot anything, there is a market nearby which is less than one mile away.

My 3 young kids and I checked in at 830 pm, and setting up a tent would have taken too long, so we rented a tent cabin which worked out well. The site was clean, and there was running water right at your site. Thank you Cecil for your amazing hospitality, we will be back.

Family run business and they keep a close eye on things. Deal of the century for families vacationing. Accommodations for those of us without RV’s is great — tents on-​site. Swmming pool, campsite store, basketball, ping pong, decent bathrooms (although showerheads are at about 5′ which is challenging for me at 6′). Super close to the lake, lots of places to ride bikes, or hike. This is our third year in a row and plans are in the works for year four.
