Very good Polish food. Hard to find these days. Bartender is really a nice lady, very classy. Food is excellent. Atmosphere is «clean, very clean» and has nice décor. One time when we went the greeter(who I found out later was the owner) was a little rude, but she was busy, and I think the air was out as it was really hot in there. Next time we went she was really nice, so I am chalking that one up to just having a bad day for her. Great views of the lake.

I cannot say enough positive things about Reflections. I arrived with my husband and 7 family members. We were quickly seated in the center of the room, at an actual table set up for 8 people. Our waitress was superb, she was able to easily speak and joke with everyone, from the youngest to the oldest of our party. That’s not an easy task. She made everyone feel at home and special. And the dinner was delicious. Everyone raved about their meal. Thank you! We will be back.

This place is a hidden gem in Lake Villa :). Truly amazing views from the deck and an old school lake lodge feel inside with lots of comfort. The food we had was good but nothing amazing, standard fair. Fours stars only because you feel like you are driving through the back woods of Alabama to reach this nice restaurant(pretty sure I heard banjos playing)… But once you get there, just a beautiful view as long as you don’t look down by the shoreline(they really should clean up the old tires left out by the waterfront though… Really?)…

Another visit last night to reflections for their Friday night fish specials. The restaurant has an old time feel to it. We sat at the bar for about an hour waiting for our party. The bartenders were nice and our drinks were good. I have been here a few times and have had the seafood platter, the broiled cod and the pan fried walleye. All are very good. Prepared well and good quality. My husband got the polish platter last night and loved it. Save room though, because the desserts are delicious. I get the Napoleon every time which is homemade custard in between flaky crust and the table got a piece of orange cake that they love and German chocolate cheesecake and a brownie cheesecake. All were scraped clean and were enjoyed. I suggest a visit to this place. The sunset over the lake is gorgeous.

This was our third visit to this facility. Once again, we enjoyed it. My wife and I both had fish. I had the perch and my wife had walleye. Both were very good, properly cooked and not«fishy» at all. Both were served with rather unusual coleslaw which was very nice and very fresh. Guessing it is homemade there. Their pickle soup is a specialty which is really worth trying(It’s much better than it sounds — really)! Our server was a young lady named Joanna who provided very good, friendly service. One of the best servers we’ve had in some time(and we dine out frequently). The lake view is very good and during summer, the view from their patio would be exceptional. The facility, overall, is a little worn around the edges bit that’s fine in this case as it gives a comfortable Wisconsin«supper club» feel even though it is in Illinois. Now for the not-so-good: The«hostess» who seated us was a noticeably crabby old woman named Kathy who clearly was not interested in welcoming us. When will restaurants learn that the host/hostess provides the first impression customers get and that job should not be occupied by individuals with bad personalities or air heads? The second not-so-good was pretty minor but the bread/cracker basket(1) was soiled from handling(2) the napkin liner was also soiled and(3) the crackers were broken and crushed. That said, we enjoyed our dinners, the facility, the really good service. We will return again when we are in the area.

Great location! Amazing food! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Only complaint was there was so much good food how could I choose. I ordered the House platter as recommended. It did not disappoint. The pierogis were to die for. I loved everything about this restaurant and plan to come back often.

Best Polish food in Lake County, but there is a lot more on the menu that makes this a great place to go with family or friends. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity that you get. Try the roast duck or broiled walleye dinner. Roast pork is also a winner. Very friendly owner and staff. You can always get a good drink at the bar as well!

If you are looking for an outdoor patio and like Polish food, it is easy to give this restaurant 5 stars. If you don’t plan ahead and make a reservation for the patio, or if you are not a fan of Polish food, then of course you can find things to complain about. Like all good places it gets busy, and if you are going to be here at sunset then you will want to bring sunglasses as, surprise surprise, the setting sun will reflect off the lake and can be a bit overwhelming at times.

If you visit, forget most of the menu. It’s always good but the Polish dishes are fantastic. The Polish Plate is an excellent well rounded meal. If it’s even close to nice outside all for a patio seat. A great hidden gem.

Well, this was our second time at this restaurant. Food was average. My wife and I were visiting some friends and decided to try this place again. Two of us had the Polish platter. My wife had the stuffed cabbage. and the fourth person had the sausage and kraut. Our friend had requested a separate check for him and his wife(so two checks for a table of four). To our surprise when the two checks came there was a 20% gratuity added to each of them. We questioned the manager who said that was their policy because«it was extra work». We questioned why they didn’t tell us that in the first place. The server said it’s on the menu. My wife said«Get a menu, and show me where it says that. She returned with a menu, and pointed to the last page where it stated that an 18% gratuity may be added to parties of 8 or more. My wife stated it says nothing about adding 20% to two separate checks. The manager said do whatever you want. This is a scam. They are trying to get extra tip money. Most people probably wouldn’t notice the 20% added on. In addition, the 20% was also figured on the tax.

Well, I had to change my rating to 3 stars due to my 2 past experiences. One time I sat in the bar with my friend where we had a great time but after a few drinks tried to order food. We asked for menus which we got but no one ever took our order. They said the servers were busy and would be right there. After 40 minutes I called my husband to order to pizza and come pick us up. The bartender felt bad and bought us a drink which was nice but you should be able to get food at a restaurant. Then last time I was excited to go sit on their deck outside because the weather was nice. We got there early for dinner to have a better chance of getting a seat outside. When we got there they said there was a long wait for the patio. I saw there was only one name on the list. So, they seated us in the back of the restaurant inside by the exit door. In about 20 mins there were tables open on the patio. I was hoping to be a regular here because I live nearby and the food is great but, unfortunately, they only have certain people they treat well.

Lovely location and vintage atmosphere. Took my in laws for the authentic Polish food — 3 of us ordered the polish platters which did not disappoint. I ordered the veal tenderloin, presentation was nice but it lacked flavor and was fairly dry. Kids enjoyed the meals named after their schools. I was disappointed when I ordered an Old Fashioned, the cocktail that was delivered was anything but. Also, had made reservations a couple days in advance, so was a little disappointed to be seated away from the lake views. We’ll be back and give them another try — my in laws were impressed with the authenticity of the food.

Very good restaurant, service is usually good unless they are ridiculously busy. You must try the polish cuisine including the pickle soup!

Wonderful food. We went on a quiet night and sat looking over the frozen lake. The Polish Platter is a nice sample of three traditional meals. The pickle soup was mild and wonderful. A potato dill base. Only negative on the food was the bread basket. Not top fresh.

This is a little hidden gem… if you don’t live in the area. :) Weekends are always busy, so try to make a reservation. The wait isn’t horrible and they have a great bar to wait at. The ambiance is great — very rustic like a cabin hideaway. The view… AMAZING! Looks out onto the lake and is so tranquil. Okay, so the food… depending on what you get, its about average plus to really frickin good. It is a mix of classic American(think steak, burgers.) to Polish(think Perogies… a must try by the way).

I’ve been coming here for a long time. My family celebrated my parents’ 45th wedding anniversary and they were accommodating and reasonable. A few years later, my husband and I held our wedding reception at the restaurant. It was equally awesome. It’s good polish food and a nice atmosphere with more than reasonable pricing. Skip the crappy chain restaurants of Gurnee and support a local gem on the lake!

Party of 7 with 3 young kids. Called ahead, they were prepared for us and treated us very well. Was a little iffy about the antique high chair but we managed and it fit the atmosphere perfectly. Place was beautifully done up for Christmas and the service was good. While the food may not be five star gourmet, it was definitely delicious. It was also very reasonably priced. This place is worth the visit and you will not spend more than you would at a Chili’s. –Also, if you are unfamiliar with the area, it will seem as if your map is incorrect since this place is in a neighborhood.

Attended a baby shower here and truly enjoyed it! The atmosphere is perfect because of the antique feel and the view is truly beautiful. Everything is wooden and it truly creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is also a stage here where a musician plays which is pretty cool. I sampled the pergoies, the mashed potatoes, and the sausage and everything was truly good! I looked at the menu and they have some«American» items too so I will definitely be back to sample those and more Polish food! The owner and servers were extremely sweet as well. Will definitely take my fiancée here for a date night!

Have been here many times for dinner. I stopped by for a drink on the lower deck to enjoy the sun and the lake. After waiting over 15 minutes for someone to take my order, I finally CALLEDTHERESTAURANTONMYCELLPHONE to place my drink order. :( Apparently, when the restaurant burned down a few years ago, the concept of customer service went up in flames too.
