This place is anything but«Chill». It seemed more like a corner bar with classic rock music. I like the music, but not in a martini and wine bar that is called Chill and has«relax» themed signs all over and comfy couch settings. It just was conflicting. I also felt having the video gaming room also was conflicting with the theme. The menu was limited, but the hummus was good. The dirty Martinis we ordered were very good, but the dessert Martinis were just okay, nothing special. There is nothing special to bring me back here. They really need to decide what kind of bar they want to be and what clientele they want hanging out there or it will be just an average corner bar.

Great place! Beautiful and relaxing. Great prices for the drinks. Also love the food. Small menu makes it simple. My first choice to go and spend time with friends.

Surprisingly cute and upscale-feeling place located in a crummy strip mall. Don’t be scared off by the location! It was really nice inside and actually quite large. The bartender was very friendly and gave good beer recommendations.

Nice selection and atmosphere. A little pricey, but worth a trip. There is live music, but I’d like to see a few more seasonal specials to keep it interesting.

Nice place with a great selection of craft beer and martinis. Service was helpful and nice. Food is good but not much of a selection. Will go back though.

Great Martinis. The food menu is VERY limited. Would maybe go back if they would add more food options. Otherwise will probably not return.,

Great little bar. Had a band the night we were there. Wine and craft beer selections are acceptable. Food options are not much but if you wanted more to eat there is a hot dog place next door. Otherwise I was pleasantly surprised by this bar. Clientele is older but don’t mind that makes the place more enjoyable and relaxed.

Atmosphere was unexpectedly great, the bar tender knew his stuff, and there was a huge selection. Everything I can ask for in a bar. Thumbs up!

We had a great time this evening… the bartender was great and worked with us to determine what each of us might enjoy from the large selection of craft beers… The place is unexpectedly very cool in a former convenience store in a strip mall in Lake Villa of all places… The reach in cooler has been converted in a clever way into a private party room… Great to find a place like this out in the far burbs.

Service, at least on a Sunday evening, SUCKS. The bartender, who was completely by himself, did not know his craft. He had to use a cheat sheet to make a classic martini! I have to assume he was brand-new because he didn’t know where anything was behind the bar. The drinks are way overpriced considering the service.

I have been wanting to try this place for quite a while now and last night my wife and I had the opprtunity to do so and I am glad I did. The last review covered almost everything I could say about this really neat place. We arrived early on Saturday and it was pretty empty at first. There is a bar area, tables, and even couches to lounge around in. We found ourselves a litte table and had a seat. At the time, only the bartender was working, so he came out to us to give us drink menus and take our orders. He was very nice and also knowledgeable. Now, my wife and I ended up spending several hours here, so I dont remember EVERY drink I had, but suffice it to say, I sampled a few of the martinis. All were very good and I was happy I went with them. The only issue we had at this point of the night was that my wife really wanted a glass of white zinfandel and they did not have any. Kind of disappointing since they say wine bar in their name. Other than that, though, very good drink selection aside from martinis and wine. Around 7 the place gradually started filling up and the live music started to get set up. It was a fun band called Swingset andhad great loung-ey feel to them, which fit the mood perfectly. All in all, a really nice place that I will return to and recommend to others.

I am not sure how in the world I have missed trying this relatively new place, I understand that they have been open for more than a year now. First off I was pleased by the amount of off street parking that they have available, for me, this is a big plus right out of the gate. In any event, I feel that Chill is a great after work or late night destination– a large menu of specialty cocktails, wines and beers is featured. A new and exclusive drink is the Marilyn Martini which the ladies tried; they said it tastes like a strawberry cheesecake dessert. :) Food is really not their thing, but they have a small plates menu with a few items to help take the edge off of any hunger that you might have. Chill has a couple of cozy conversation areas with plush seats as well as the usual bar and high-top tables that you would expect. Supposedly there is a private party area available but I didn’t take the time to check it out. A new feature is the gaming area which is why on the door there is a sign saying«21 and over only». Personally I am happy that some bars are now 21 and over since it seemed like we were running out of «adults only» establishments. On the weekends they have live entertainment; the particular night that we were there, Gina Gonzalez(an up and coming local singer) was performing some pop and folk numbers with just the right vibe for a Friday night. I felt the service was better than average and the place seemed staffed just right which is certainly a welcome change. There is one high-def TV above the bar which is good for those folks who are interested in keeping one eye on the game of the day. Overall I had a great time with friends here at Chill– I’d certainly come back and enjoy the hospitality again. I’d recommend Chill to anyone who wants to have a nice and relaxing evening out.
