Absolutely a wonderful place to stay in Lake Placid! Mary Pat and Tony were wonderful hosts! The place itself had a beautiful woodsy charm. The rooms were large and comfortable and there were plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the fire. They offered a wine and cheese hour which consisted of a glass of wine and a beautiful spread of cheeses, olives and crackers. The cost was extremely reasonable and the breakfast alone was worth the stay! Mary Pat prepares a homemade Greek yogurt made with fresh milk, honey and cinnamon. Followed by this amazing yogurt treat with fresh fruit was a made to order«Irish Breakfast». This consisted of local meats(ham, sausage AND bacon) fluffy local eggs, homemade cornbread, challah bread, French toast with an apple compote, roasted potatoes and baked tomatoes with Parmesan cheese. They suggested wonderful hikes at Henry’s Woods with gorgeous views at the summit as well as a fun trip to the wildlife refuge down the road. We couldn’t have asked for a better first bed and breakfast vacation in Lake Placid. Amazing people with an amazing experience! Looking forward to our next stay!

Wow! An unbelievable place to stay. Mary Pat and Tony«The Bobfather» were very welcoming and friendly. Mary Pat made great filling breakfasts. Both were very helpful in recommending where to go etc. Rooms are great. Just a very warm and cozy place to stay. Cant say enough about it. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, and we both give it thumbs up! The Inn is gorgeous and rustic and nicely appointed, with many Adirondack antique memorabilia – the bed was so comfortable, we slept for 12 hours the first night! Mary Pat and Tony were the PERFECT hostesses – and boy can Mary Pat cook and bake and entertain in first class style. We loved staying here and already have plans to go back. We both highly recommend this Inn for a whole variety of reason! Many great memories made!

This is the nicest B and B we have ever stayed at. It’s the oldest inn in lake placid but was totally redone in 2009. The owners Mary Pat and Tony are great hosts. They’re always willing to tell you a story of the area and help you plan an outing and more importantly recommend and get you reservations at the tough places to get into. They know everybody in town I think. Breakfast is unbelievable. Home made breads, Irish breakfast, homemade yogurt with fresh berries and granola. You are so full after breakfast you aren’t really hungry until late afternoon. Which is a good thing because that’s when the wine, cheese and fruit are served. The beds are very comfortable. When the weather permits sitting on the front porch is a great way to spend a few restful hours. In cold weather the fireplace will work too. The house was warm and cozy even though it was minus 11 outside. One bit of advice though, the house has many antiques, this would not be a great choice for young children(under 12 or so). They would want to play with everything and you’d be chasing them around all day. This the place to come to get away from the kids.

I’m not going to write a long review, for that you can check tripadvisor. However, this B&B was absolutely great. Can’t recommend it enough.

Am I truly the first person to review this place? I suppose it makes sense, as this is still an undiscovered gem. The oldest building in Lake Placid, this hotel has been restored over the last five years and at 120 — 300 /night is an incredible value. The only place that even comes close to their décor begins at 1000 /night, and I sincerely doubt that it would have the charm and ambience we found at the Stagecoach. As of 11⁄2010 their website is terrible — do not base your reservation on their dim photos or descriptions. Their gift is not marketing, but hosting. We were greeted with wine and cheese, awoke to fresh coffee and pastries and breakfast to order. The room was gorgeous, and the rest of the inn — which we felt perfectly comfortable lounging about in, was as well. For more reviews, check tripadvisor(it’s how we found it). This place is really special.
